here's my take on what would be as close to tribal sea monsters as i could. the two big types that are lacking are octupus and serpent, but seeing as the majority of them are meh i just left 'em out. it can be quite explosive in the early came with a turn 3 tromokratis just with high tide and some artifacts. the mind over matter and icy manipulator are to make Mr. Pinches unblockable and for some utility when he's not around.
Yeah! Glad to see you got around to posting your list. It'd be cool if you wrote the land out as well. In terms of general post formatting, use the standard deck formatting for overall clarity. Quote this reply to look at the syntax
In terms of the list itself, it's extremely flavourful, but also quite top heavy. A bit more low-end ramp may be in order, I'm pretty sure you'd get more value out of a Mind Stone than the triple variant you're currently running in most games. Also, don't repeat the mistake of the early iterations of my Tromo list, you NEED some countermagic in here! Some other nice things I can't seem to locate would be Capsize and Rhystic Study. In terms of possible cuts, I'm not sure you're abusing Venser, Shaper Savant to his full potential, and Grand Architect looks a bit lonesome in there. Also, leave all the Dictate of Kruphixes to the hug decks, you're blue and non-hug and proud
i couldn't find your thread so i just made one here.thanks i had absolutely no idea how to put the list in the deck format lol. once i get some more time later i'll edit the list format and show my lands, most of 'em being islands for high tide.
the venser was mostly a card i've been trying to get for a looong time and once my local store finally got a copy, i snatched him up and replaced . i do have a rhystic study but my only copy is in my zedruu deck atm. grand architect is mainly in there to try to ramp out some artifacts and give my trinket/treasure mages more use after their tutor. i probably should get rid of eternal dominion too, but it's just such a fun card.
on a different note, i'm kinda bummed origins didn't really provide any big dumb sea monsters. i am looking at displacement wave since a lot of my stuff is pretty expensive so i can just bounce most opponent's stuff off the board.
Well, this is your deck, so it makes sense for it to have its own thread
The problem with Displacement Wave and your list is that most often the things you actually want to hit enemy-size tend to be high cost for maximum tempo loss. As such, this will probably screw you over too. They can't all be Whelming Waves.
If you want wizard utility, run Azami, Lady of Scrolls. I have a decent wizard subtheme in my list, and Azami's awesome at getting the Trinket Mages of the world drawing cards, which is probably a little bit more useful in the grand scheme of things. Still, she costs 5 mana. Also, I can greatly sympathise with card pool woes - it occurred to me that I'll have a playset of Sol Rings when I finish my black list. Bah humbug!
I have a Tromokratis deck too, which leans a little more heavily on the various weird sea creatures. A few of the more useful/entertaining ones include:
Tromokratis

Also, Homarid Spawning Bed can be surprisingly handy with all the high CMC guys...
