Do you like to attack? Then you might like this deck. It is currently in the process of major revision, dropping its original leader (Sliver Queen) - and in turn, its access to black - for the benefits both Partner in general, and Thrasios in particular, bring to this playstyle. As such, I don't have too much to write indepth about it now. Let's just say that the aim of this deck is to play good cards and simply beat your opponents to death. There is no shame in this, so that's what we do. Any suggestions, recommendations, or questions are more than welcome!
Solid 5c goodstuff list. My only concern, which you addressed in your final sentence, is that people have a preconceived (and imho deserved) fear of a sliver EDH deck. With your list, I might choose a less dangerous-looking commander that still has some standalone value - Cromat comes to mind first. You'd have the same dangerous 99 in your list and you're less likely to get focused immediately based upon commanders alone. Once your group gets to know your list, I'd imagine switching back to Sliver Queen would be alright.
Only other recommendation would be Birthing Pod, as you have a number of good pod chains available to you. Good luck!
Thank you! It's been a lot of fun playing so far, not a deck to try and autopilot but very rewarding in the challenge. Yes, Pod really looks like its got the light to shine here so I think I'll be fitting it in. Gotta love getting even more value :). Thanks for the suggestion!
Happy to see that my list has been of use, your list looks good. How have you found Cold-eyed selkie to be, is it worth it, i might give it a try to. I'm also very intrigued to see how you've found Purphoros and Abzan Beastmaster to be. I'm thinking of cutting it from my own list as it has been a bit hit and miss for me. I would also highly recommend Tasigur and other delve cards to consistently exile Torrent Elemental from your graveyard and maximize its power.

Thanks man, yeah I pretty much started with a copy of your build and started hacking and sewing too get this so I owe you a lot of credit.
Selkie has definitely pulled its weight, the islandwalk means there is usually a couple targets she can swing at unimpeded and she carries my swords like a champ because of that, plus being able to transform damage into cards so efficiently means she can bait out removal in pro form as well. I'd say give her a try, I think you'll like her.
Purphoros is great, he is a very effective mana sink for later on and throwing out damage with every creature drop is pretty handy to have on hand. I'd recommend him as well. Beastmaster was meh for me, one of the direct ports from your deck I was interested to try, but Birthing Pod has proven a lot more useful for me.
I keep going back and forth on Tasigur, I think I'll just have to sleeve him up and try him. Torrent has been great just as a way to swing through defenses but there are probably other options I can explore for the cost and effect. Anyways, thanks for stopping by, always appreciate your feedback!
Updated to show Pod, replaced Beastmaster with Wood Elves to go along with that, also decided to try Titania, see if she can add more value to our lands. Running very smoothly now, lots of ways to move through the deck and we keep getting faster. More coming soon.
Been a while since I last updated. The deck is running quite smoothly now, it gets going quickly and can really draw blood fast, the disruption and answer suite has proven invaluable several times now, and we do a pretty fair job of keeping our cards moving. Since the last update it looks like:
INSTANTS
No changes here.
SORCERIES
Dropped Living Death, cool but ultimately unwieldy.
ENCHANTMENTS Exploration can make for some very explosive play and some fun with Strip Mine/Wasteland. Bitterblossom gives us airborne bodies to block and then pick up Swords and is yet another way to weather wraths.
ARTIFACTS
Hello Winter Orb, somehow we completely neglected you during our initial construction! This has since been remedied.
LANDS

CREATURES
This is where the most change took place. Grand Abolisher has been a G as usual and Containment Priest is absolutely awesome, hosing so many strategies while barely affecting us. Mentor of the Meek has high synergy with both the general and the deck and keeps our hand fresh while we start to put our aggression. Sigarda has been pretty good at the top of the curve but she's currently the most recent addition and still proving her spot is justified.
I think that's about everything, as always and comments, questions, or feedback welcome! Happy playing.
How does Arbor Elf compare to something like Voyaging Satyr, or even Kiora's Follower? I'd rather the one extra mana to let me untap my Cradle.
Speed is our best friend and Arbor Elf is pretty consistently a one drop that can tap for three different colors on turn two. The one extra mana for the possible synergy with Cradle is fun but ultimately it's winmore and your're slowing yourself down while you're at it.
Went down a land, it's really helped out on tempo. Origins brought me another draw seven, and I decided to give it a buddy to play with in the deck (he plays well with everyone else too). Speaking of buddies, I'm also giving Æther Vial a try and Trinket Mage along with him. Round that all off with a little more power in the deck and that brings us about up to date I believe.
Day's Undoing is cool, but I ultimately preferred Fact or Fiction. Notion Thief remains a great addition to the deck. I'm giving in to a wild urge and trying Varolz out for a little while, but essentially I've got an open spot floating for right now. I'll let you know what happens!
CHANGE OF HEART EDIT: Varolz?! What am I thinking?! Wild urges indeed. I'll try out Alesha if I'm shopping in that department, thank you.
This is a pretty cool list. Any time Dark Confidant gets to wield Umezawa's Jitte I'm on board. A few cards look out of place to me, though.
Hey, thanks! It's been a ton of fun to play and, strangely, people actually enjoy having it at the table - especially since I make quite clear that it has no combos or overly underhanded goals than just beating things to death.
Brutal Hordechief. This guy only attacks and blocks and if you're looking for good cards to do that, try Wild Nacatl.
I think you're severely underplaying Hordechief here. His first ability essentially functions as an anthem for my field except it has resiliency against Fog effects and blockers (among other things). It also is another way to keep my life buffer high, especially since I can spend health pretty lavishly during the course of a game. His second ability is where he really shines; being able to control how opponents block (especially more than just my own attacks) is incredibly useful. 'Oh, you think you've got a full field to keep you safe? Turns out they're all blocking this token while the rest run roughshod over you.'
Prophet of Kruphix is out of place because it best facilitates big play after big play.
Prophet is in for a few reasons, though I agree that she is probably one of the more fringe choices here. To begin, aesthetically I've got a bit of a flash subtheme going in my creature suite, so having a flash-lord onboard kinda rounds out that section. That's unimportant. What is important is the pseudo-vigilance the untap can provide (I'm always going to be one of the most likely candidates to take a counterattack to the face), combined with the pseudo-haste of flash. Letting me mana-flood my sinks (primarily my general) is her final cherry. These all seem like small things, but they can be very devastating combined with the many other small things I'm running, and that is one of the guiding principles of the deck (pieces becoming greater than their whole).
Surrak Dragonclaw. Just feels like we could do better in five colors...
Surrak is actually VERY good, don't underestimate him here; a 6/6 for five mana is already above curve for a body, and definitely above curve when that body has flash and is uncounterable. Then you throw in his anti-counter effect and giving the field trample and he just goes over the edge. Utility stapled to a tank, if only every creature could be this ;).
Nope, completely forgot about him. That's a pretty keen idea, he should be quite at home.
UPDATE EDIT: Thanks again for the post, forget everything I said about Prophet, you're right that I don't need her. I'm in the mood for feeling fanciful, and I'm tired of never having any possible out to something on the stack than big, weepy eyes around the table, so I'm going to try out Venser, Shaper Savant. I'm also going to drop the Trinket Mage for now to try out Sygg and see how he works out.
I didn't mean to imply that any of those cards were actually bad. Clearly you've put together a huge pile of good stuff here. I do think you'd be better served running more hate bears instead. The reason is that EDH is the format of bomb rares and synergies and your all-stars-of-Standards-past are likely to get outclassed. You need to hate as hard as possible so that you can keep the game in a place where your relatively small creatures are in a position to get there.
Thanks! You're right on both counts, sometimes I'll swap decks and let one of my friends play this instead. Everybody gets a cheesy grin on their face while running it.
I'm not overly hip on the Snake just because its effect is strictly reactive - same with Dualcaster - without much else going for it. Venser however can also function proactively as a Boomerang in addition to giving my a possible move on the stack which is why I'm curious to try him.

Oh, I know you weren't implying that, it's just that sometimes I get stuck on certain structures and having to express my reasoning for doing so is the motivation I need to eliminate them. Such is the case here, so thank you :). You're right, more hate is always a good thing and Dryad Militant and Mother of Runes are both cards I've seriously considered for a long while, especially because their addition would be a significant boon to re-adding Ranger of Eos. I'm going to hopefully get a chance to do some serious playing this weekend after my travels conclude, we'll see what I can come up with. Thanks again for commenting, keep on checking in!
I'm digging this list, been thinking about trying out something like this for a while now, just never knew where to start. I feel like Athreos, God of Passage would be a good addition to the deck as a way to get continuous value off your little guys, and possibly Beastmaster Ascension as a finisher?
Edit: Since Wood Elves nearly tops your curve, is it worth running?
Yes. The color-fixing is incredible and the land hits untapped, he's at a sweet spot in the pod chains, and he's instantly clampable, on top of just being a body that can pick up a sword or get pitched to Survival. Holding an opening hand with Elves, land, and Ring/Crypt is a pretty good base for starting off the game. Excellent value.

Thank you! I feel I was in a similar position until I saw capitacom's zoo list, that really made a lot of things click. I hope this list gives you a similar boost, as well as anybody looking to play in the same vein.
Athreos is a card I had in the list during initial construction then dropped and forgot about. I think it's time to give him another try. Beastmaster is also an interesting card suggestion, it definitely stands a chance of finishing things immediately when played right.
Also, Ghostway could be an option to get extra value off of ETB effects and protect yourself from wrath effects.
I really prefer Boros Charm, I'm not running enough EtB for me to feel the blink would be extra-bounteous in that department, which leaves Ghostways pretty purely reactionary and I like my tech to be multi-gear.
So, on with the general updates, which are fairly significant. I probably lend out this deck to others to play as much as I play it myself. I'm also at a point where cutting cards is REALLY HARD sometimes and in fact strictly a matter of personal preference. With all that in mind, I've decided to create and start maintaining a sideboard in addition to the main list!
I feel this will allow even more positive interactivity in a few ways. For starters, I'll have greater control over the power and play levels, eliminating a lot of worry about playing in a different meta and not being really in sync with the style of it. It'll also satisfy my own scout-nature of being as prepared as possible and getting to carry a pack of spare gear for special occasions. Finally, it'll add an even greater level of interactivity to people I'm lending it out to if they can give it a little sub-tuning all their own before a match and that interaction with others is something I want to emphasize more.
Anyways, I've got a basic list begun, but there are still slots totally free and slots that can certainly be changed, so lets here any ideas you've got folks! Thanks for all the feedback so far and happy playing!
Sunforger is a little pricey and may require a few accompanying swaps, like Vindicate -> Utter End or Nature's Claim -> Wear // Tear, to be worthwhile but the payoff for running it is huge. That card has value and aggro for days and days.
Is Volrath's Stronghold tapping for colorless worth bringing back random weenies? I guess getting back the right hate bear in some spots can be pretty devastating, but again, mana.

You would never guess, at the terrifying sight of the man, that Hunding was as charming a companion as one could wish for.
I'm surprised to see Alesha relegated to the sideboard. It seems like she'd be absolutely bonkers in this deck.
She probably is, right now everything is theorycraft because I haven't actually gotten a chance to play anything, the suggestion of Athreos just struck my fancy. We'll see what happens when I do shuffle up.
Are there enough things that matter to Abrupt Decay?
It could honestly say "Destroy target Blood Moon or Back to Basics" and I'd still consider it . But, dude... look at how much degenerate nonsense I run that's solvable with Abrupt Decay, and that is not even scratching the surface of the available pool, and it's a two mana instant that is cannot be countered. It does get me thinking about other removal though, like how would something like Song of the Dryad possibly do here?
Visionary is the wrong comparison, it's value is not the same here. Wood Elves is an extra land drop on legs with perks, Visionary just replaces itself in my hand with another blind card. There are certainly ways of manipulating Visionary to get extra-value out of it but Elves is guaranteed value that can be manipulated further. A better question would be Coiling Oracle.

That's the thing, 'Forger really makes the deck play for it rather than vice-versa. I'd rather use the hammer in a list constructed with it in mind from the start where it can shine than shoehorn it here.
Is Volrath's Stronghold tapping for colorless worth bringing back random weenies? I guess getting back the right hate bear in some spots can be pretty devastating, but again, mana.
I've yet to run into it giving my any problems that I can recall in terms of mana, at least no more than Strip Mine. I also can't recall it doing anything utterly remarkable either. Hmmm... Well, I was going to leave the lands mostly alone till fall to see what Zendikar brought so I'll have a little time to see how the stronghold really does. I could always bring in the Dryad Arbor...
Turns out Alesha and Athreos both do very well here, the amount of recursion they bring in I switched out Stronghold for Dryad Arbor. Huntmaster goes back in to the four-drop tier. Oh, I also finished the sideboard. Any comments welcome as usual!
At this point the list has become incredibly stable (mainboard at least) and I don't foresee any major changes in that till BFZ starts dropping. The sideboard is still in flux but solidifying more and more and has been making for terrific fun for everyone; the deck now has the capacity to both be completely unexpected and personalized to suit both a player and a match, furthering the 'turn cheats on' concept even more, not to mention upping metastability against combo (our great enemy!) and multiple control decks at a table. As usual I'm always on the lookout for suggestions and if you've been playing a version of this deck please feel free to share your own stories, experiences, innovations and observations. Good gaming!
Well, as of now I'm planning on running new Drana mainboard, she's both a damn fine sword carrier on her own and she pumps the rest of her team on top of that, I think she'll do well. Sideboard is going to try out Painful Truths and Bring to Light; three cards for three mana is nice (to say the least) and Bring to Light can grab everything mainboard and most of the sideboard as well. In fact, it might make the mainboard at some point depending on how it plays. Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is being eyed as well, I love his combination of abilities, but right now I think Sorin has more upside, especially coming in with Humility. As usual, any comments, questions, ideas, suggestions welcome. Happy playing!
