It's interesting, especially since I'm running thopter spy network in place of Sorin lord of innistrad in my Stax deck, but I don't think it does enough to take up a slot in the deck, it's only hugely useful after I'm set up and well defended, any earlier and I'd rather have almost any other card, and late game I'm focused more on getting some combination of cards that will secure the win, which underhanded designs can't do fast enough. Thus far the only kaladesh card I'm grabbing a copy of for my deck is inventors fair.
Anyway, interesting pivot you made between the last deck you posted Kylar and the current, curious to see that none of your previous changes seem to have survived.
My only real thought on your new list is questioning whether academy rector actually works or not, seems a bit expensive, and game state dependant, wonder if idyllic tutor or just straight out running Zur the Enchanter would be better for the purpose.
It looks like Underhanded Designs is a lot of hoops with few payoffs. The paying 1 is a great mana sink and you get a narrow destroy target creature. It doesn't tax and isn't a lock piece.

Hmmm Acd Reactor is there as a blocker for any non flying stuff which make players without flying creatures not attack you since once he dies you can fetch any enchantment from the deck, the only ways to get rid of him is exile effects.

Thopter Spy Network is one part Bitterblossom and one part Coastal Piracy. Never had an issue creating tokens with it and generally haven't had a problem drawing off it either. It's felt very solid in the months I've been running it.
Been a long while since I've updated anything. Breya, Etherium Shaper shook the foundations of this deck. Not only do I get R like I always wanted, but I don't have to sacrifice U in the process. I'm not sold on extending into a different color as it makes the mana base worse, but it's not off the table. Queen Marchesa is another interesting candidate also, more so than Zurgo Helmsmasher.
I'm currently working on building Olomouc Stax, what are y'alls thoughts on Overburden? It seems like it'd be good since we barely run creatures, and it doesn't trigger on tokens.
It was supplanted by Mana Breach. I found it overall more useful to tax the source of people who cast creatures (our opponents) rather than the creatures themselves. If they can't access mana then they can't do anything.
Great point, I'm really liking the way the deck looks, I was working on making Atraxa Stax, but it was mostly just Esper Stax with a splash for Derevi and Leovold.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll try to figure something out for the Workshop, I'll run something in place of Forcefield, until I can buy one next week.
May have been too harsh on City of Traitors it does generate CCCC before it dies. What does the meta look like? Creature heavy? Because if you're running Moat, Propaganda, Sphere of Safety and Ghostly Prison its already super unprofitable to attack you anyway.
And it stops Cumulative Upkeep costs. Mystic Remora and Glacial Chasm become better because of it. It can backfire however, by giving opponents the same things.
Action_Mane, you mentioned you were thinking about a Zurgo list, do you have any idea about what that might look like?
I had brainstormed one back a couple of years but never anything concrete. With the printing of Breya, Etherium Shaper it doesn't seem likely I'll ever pull the trigger. I like the enchantment theme but it is color intensive, and Breya makes it more of a combo deck with actual win conditions rather than attrition. Dies to doom blade has a good Breya list, that's similar to the way I would have taken it.
I haven't. My Magic time in general has been so severely cut within the last 2 months I barely have even looked at anything Commander 2017 related (some of the mythics). What have others been playing with? Any good Stax pieces?
The Abyss only cares about creatures, which isn't something we care about, and it's easy to get around. It doesn't have an immediate impact on the board and 3B is a lot for that effect.
Sydri, Galvanic Genius/Aetherflux Reservoir isn't that intriguing to me. We'd have to add a bunch of cheap spells to dig for the pieces, they're not that good separate from one another. The life gain is not the focus of the deck and would need to be built around. It's also 10 mana.

Nice idea on Thopter Spy Network, may consider running it.

It depends. Probably none of them. Pendrell Mists for The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale is a good tradeoff if your meta is flush with creatures. Ensnaring Bridge just isn't the same, and City of Traitors only works if you're about to combo off, but can do the turn 1 mana rock.
May have been too harsh on City of Traitors it does generate CCCC before it dies. What does the meta look like? Creature heavy? Because if you're running Moat, Propaganda, Sphere of Safety and Ghostly Prison its already super unprofitable to attack you anyway.
New card spoiled looks good.
I'm going to try and figure out where to put it, it hampers Atraxa, and I'lol probably try to find a spot for Dark Depths as well.

Does The Abyss have a place in this deck?
And what do you think of Sydri, Galvanic Genius/Aetherflux Reservoir combo as a finisher?
