@DeadPresident2910, are you solely running the Derevi, Empyrial Tactician list you posted a while back, or do you have a Jenara list in addition to that?
At the moment it's solely Derevi - but at the time I posted the list on the previous page I had used the same list for Jenara minus two cards; Mana Vault and Ashnod's Altar. I can't quite recall what I had in their spots, but those are the two significant changes I remember making.
In case it's helpful this is the current list, almost exactly the same but with a couple of changes:
If I had to switch to Jenara again I think I'd keep the list precisely the same but with the same two changes of Mana Vault and Ashnod's Altar out - probably for Sword of Fire and Ice and Steel of the Godhead, I recall those being quite effective with Jenara. I'm hoping to get a Vannifar some time soon, it's the card from the new set I'm most curious to try out. Unfortunately life's been getting in the way of playing MTG a little bit, but hopefully everyone here is kicking ass and taking names with their Jenara/Derevi lists
With those cards, a very easy line of play is:
1) Pod Derevi/Jenara into Felidar Guardian, flicker Pod
2) Pod Guardian into Karmic Guide, return Guardian, flicker Pod
3) Pod Guide into Deadeye Navigator, pair with Guardian, flicker Guardian, flicker Pod
4) Pod Guardian into Peregrine Drake, pair with Deadeye, go nuts
I've played around with Felidar Guardian-Birthing Pod synergies in the past. In my experience, it was never as good/reliable as I wanted it to be, never as good in practice as it was on paper. Maybe the addition of Prime Speaker Vannifar will make it a bit more reliable, but it still doesn't seem very resilient. If you do end up slotting those cards in, let me know how it fairs!
Derevi, Empyrial Tactician does seem like a really sweet commander and I appreciate that the two versions of this deck are so similar. I might make the switch in the future, but I think I'll miss the fantastic win-con Jenara, Asura of War becomes in the late game when opponents have cycled through most of their removal.

Derevi obviously wants tap-effects whereas Jenara doesn't care. I personally lean towards EtB effects and flicker, so Derevi is not for me. A big, honkin', beat-stick Commander fits into any strategy or at least complements any strategy.
I occasionally run Jenara but unfortunately I think I've found myself in pods where I need a more defensive and resilient commander in order to stay alive. I think as a lone threat Jenara sadly gets outclassed by what a lot of my opponents did in the past and I ended up losing due to having an inability to protect myself/not having a threat that matched up well.
Derevi is well-geared toward playing defensively and incentivizing opponents to attack each other and leave you alone because you can blank an attack by tapping a creature or just blocking ad infinitum.
I'd recommend if anyone ever feels like their Jenara deck isn't doing it for them anymore or feels underpowered to try Derevi and see if it helps out. I think if it were up to me I'd still be running Jenara but my playgroup sort of forced me into considering other avenues like Atraxa or Derevi.
What are thoughts on Bribery? At one time it was considered a blue staple, but more recently I've noticed people are shying away from it. I myself still run it in Jenara, but when I'm brewing new decks with blue I always pass on it. As mentioned in an earlier post, I might test out Cryptic Command in its place.
Someone has to ask: What about Mox Amber? It obviously isn't fast - unless one is playing Isamaru, Hound of Konda for Commander, but that's off topic - but still?
I feel like this list doesn't run a ton of rocks to begin with, and its legendary creatures are slightly limited, meaning that Mox Amber could be a dud, which I really wouldn't be crazy about.
Bribery is a good card, but it strongly depends on your meta. Without big bombs in your opponents' decks, it could be a swing and a miss over something that better advances your gameplan at 5. Cryptic is a bit too blue heavy for me in a 3-color list, and while it is one of the only counters over 3 I'd ever consider, the casting cost color intensity, and the desire to be a bit more able to use a counter in any situation, since my list doesn't have that many of them, is reason enough for me to exclude it. I do run it in my Grimgrin attrition/aristocrats list, and I like it in there.
I honestly think Jenara is one of the most adaptable commanders out there because she is cheap, has a good body, has evasion, and scales to any stage of the game via her counters ability. Plus, she makes an ideal sword carrier, which I run 3 of them, so that is often relevant. This is a mid-range list at heart, with a lot of ETB control utility. I don't see the list as written benefiting as much from Derevi as it does Jenara. She's unassuming enough, but can be a powerhouse if unchecked, and give opponents second thoughts about swinging in at all with her ability to ramp up her power. With 4 mana open on turn 4, any opponent of mine has to consider the ramifications of swinging into a 5/5, and eating removal is a benefit for us, because it isn't pointed at our bigger threats/combo pieces.

Not too long ago I would have agreed with basically everything you just said. However, I have to say, after having been playing the tweaked Derevi version of the deck these past months, I've come to very heavily prefer it.
As many of the decks in my meta have become more heavily laden with cheap removal, I've actually come to actively dislike running the Swords in many situations, and came to feel like Jenara just never did enough when she'd just eat removal and go away. No value ability, no built in protection, etc. While it's true that she could scale to any stage of the game, she was also a dead card in very many situations. On the other hand, I have almost never felt Derevi was dead. If nothing else, she comes in at instant speed to blank an attacker. Being able to essentially always have her on the table is just insane, and having a relevant ETB and damage trigger is great.
I loved Jenara, but I don't see myself ever going back.
Spoiler season is upon us again! Anything catch your eyes? I personally haven't been too impressed by anything in Bant just yet. Teferi, Time Raveler might be worth testing out, but other than that it seems there's only some horizontal upgrades to board wipes (Time Wipe/Ravnica at War), counterspells (Dovin's Veto), and creature tutors (Neoform) thus far.
Teferi I think is the best out of the lot, he has a solid effect decent abilities, and also passes the Sun Titan test.
I was super excited about Neoform initially but I think a suite of Pod/Evo/Chord/Vannifar is sufficient for me and Neoform is probably overkill and not as good as the others.
I agree on Neoform. Only notable thing about it compared to Eldritch Evolution is that it doesn't exile itself and thus could be recurred. I think the flexibility of Evolution is still more desirable. That being said, I don't actually run Evolution as it stands.
Now that some time has passed, those of you who have tested Prime Speaker Vannifar, what do you think of her?
Yeah, Neoform opens up lines like 3 drop -> Archeomancer, get back Neoform -> Karmic Guide, get back Archeomancer and Neoform, etc, but abusing it requires a lot of mana. I never thought I'd say it but I actually think Pod/Vannifar/Evo/Chord might be about as many of those kinds of effects as one would want and Neoform perhaps doesn't have enough of an upside to add or cut one of the others for.
Having reconsidered Dovin's Veto a bit it might have a place in some Jenara/Derevi lists. Most lists run cards like Path to Exile/Swords/Palace Jailer so handling creature threats isn't a big problem, so having an uncounterable Negate could provide some value.
I've added Vannifar to my list but haven't gotten any games in yet, hopefully that'll change this coming weekend and I'll have some positive feedback to give. I'm very curious to hear about everyone else's experiences with her, too.
My EDH playing has dropped into a lull again, and I haven't yet had a chance to try our Prime Speaker Vannifar. She's at the top of my list for when I get back into regular games.
As for cards that have caught my eye so far in the new set:
Neoform - I mostly agree with what you guys have said about this.
Single Combat - I feel like this card is probably really good. Not sure it's good enough to replace an existing wrath in this list, but it's a sweet card.
Teferi, Time Raveler - I've been playing Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, and this could be an alternative. It's cheaper and easier to cast, and adds a little bit of extra utility, but being able to cast creatures with flash is way better than doing the same with sorceries, so I dunno.
Another kinda cool spoiler! Spark Double
Prior to the legend rule change I was running a total of 3 clones, Phantasmal Image, Phyrexian Metamorph, and Clever Impersonator. After the change I cut the Impersonator. This might not have as much utility as Clever Impersonator (it can only copy your own cards), and it probably won't convince me to increase my clone count, but it is an interesting option with some unique upside! In a legend/planeswalker heavier version of the deck this card is probably a homerun. As it stands I'm usually copying other people's stuff with my clones.
Yeah I'm not sure the Double has a place here. Impersonator has a very low floor and very high ceiling in my experience, but the ability to suddenly turn into any nonland permanent is often incredibly strong if one opponent has an impressive creature/artifact/enchantment out.
I'm not sure which creature/PW from the average Jenara list is so great one would replace another Clone-effect for the Double.
After seeing Bontu spoiled I'm very curious about what the rest of the God-Eternal cards look like, particularly if they're a cycle of ETB effects.
Jenara lists usually playing very high value/quality cards meaning the bar is pretty high to find new additions, but even so Rhonas is quite tame in comparison to Bontu.
It does appear as though the ETB theme is carrying through - we can only hope that Kefnet or Oketra have high impact effects but I’m not optimistic.
But it's still a really cool card design. I'm really, really looking forward to the Kefnet variant when they spoil it.
In regards to the new Teferi, I'm actually kinda meh. Do you really want to be cutting off your opponents from being able to interact with each other? Me, not really.
Agreed. Honestly I don’t think there’s been a single card spoiled yet that would make the cut. A little disappointing in that regard. With that said, the set still looks really awesome in general!
Yeah, sadly. I figured it’s possible that as a mid/late game Pod/Vannifar Target she could turn our 1-3 drops into 4/4’s and establish some solid board presence, but really, when the 5 drop slot has stuff like Karmic Guide, Cataclysmic Gearhulk, Seedborn Muse, and Willbreaker as competition Oketra kind of falls flat.
Nothing in this set is absolutely begging to be accommodated IMO, not in the same way cards like Vannifar were.

On Friday night I finally had a chance to play some games with my usual group with her in the deck. I ended up slotting her in over Mirari's Wake for the time being to try her out.
I didn't cast her once. I never tutored for her. I had several opportunities, I just never wanted to. Every time I could, it felt like a bad play. In many cases, she was just going to die before I'd get a chance to untap with her, and in others I just had to spend my mana doing other things.
I didn't think it would bug me that much that she needs a turn cycle to be useful, but it really did. In 1v1 it would've been much less of an issue, but in a 4 player game, all people who know my shenanigans, there was no way they were ever going to let me untap with her.
I'm going to try one more session with her, but I'm sad to say that I don't think she'll be making the cut.

This gets even easier when there's the redundancy of Birthing Pod/Prime Speaker Vannifar (though Vannifar would also require a Lightning Greaves on the table to move around and give her Haste), and with Derevi, Empyrial Tactician at the helm, since she's so easy to have always on the table.
