MTG Salvation

This is my Sidisi deck. Any suggestions to improve are welcome.

Win either by hordes of zombies, especially nice with Memorial, or there is the Helm/Leyline and Bell/MOM combos.

-1 Skyshroud Claim

+1 Acidic Slime
+1 Progenitor Mimic

Lighthouse is more of a cute card that rarely got off due to removal, and I felt that Claim is overcosted ramp. Acidic provides a good blocker and removal, and combos well with Mimic. Mimic gives a lot of good utility, and can clone some pretty good things.

Needs more Yavimaya Dryad.

Personally, I would run Yavimaya Elder over the Dryad.

Yavimaya Dryad is just another, more aggressive Wood Elves.

Dryad is harder to cast than Elves and the land comes into play tapped, so I would run Elves over Dryad.

I'd still run the Elder over the Dryad mainly for the card draw, but with Burgeoning, I can get the land into play untapped as well.

I'm not saying should replace Wood Elves with Yavimaya Dryad. I'm saying you should be running both.

I see that you more or less stayed true to what I was pulling off in my own build. How has the deck been working out for you so far? Have you tested/played it much?

I play it online quite a bit, and on paper when I can. I really enjoy the deck. It can definitely pull the win out of nowhere.

When I get some time, I plan on recording replays of the games, and linking them here from my YouTube account.

Played a couple games today, both against Sliver Queen, Kaalia, and Teysa.

I utilized an opponent's Rest In Peace to Helm kill all three.

Second game, Kaalia player had to scoop, and a well-timed Plasm Capture enabled me to to net 7 mana, cast and Exploit Sidisi, Undead Vizier and cast Demonic Tutor to fetch out Temple Bell and Mind Over Matter, cast both and combo kill the other two players in one turn.

That's what it's all about, lol!

It's a good thing you were able to use a Rest in Peace to your advantage. Graveyard hate is really the only weakness of the deck.

Luckily for me, my 'yard wasn't too filled with my good stuff. Few lands and some other things. That's why I like keeping mana open for an Entomb if I have it in hand.

Same here. Entombing an Eldrazi titan or Gaea's Blessing is key to protecting the graveyard. Many a time have I used Entomb just for that. I'm also thinking about adding Vedalken Orrery or Leyline of Anticipation just to be able to pull self-mill or other spells at the end of turn before mine. That'll make things even easier like using a Buried Alive in response to the graveyard getting exiled and whatnot.

I dropped the Blessing as I felt the two Titans were enough.

Being able to flash things could be cool. I'd maybe run the Leyline over the Orrery, just in the off chance you get it for free.

What are your thoughts on Eldrazi Monument?

Eldrazi Monument is epic because they get some boons that Akroma's Memorial doesn't give (+1/+1 and indestructible). Also, you have to sac something so it will inevitably end in the graveyard, where there's really no problem. I see Eldrazi Monument more as a means of creating the ultimate defense more so than the ultimate offense. Indestructible flying blockers is nothing to scoff at. Was that your intentions for it?

Basically, yes. I wanted something to help against sweepers that destroy. And if I can get some zombies out, I shouldn't run out of sac fodder.

I've found that sweepers weren't really much of a problem with this deck thanks to the graveyard recursion. Many a time have I capitalized on an opponents board wipe to regain my board state in pretty much the next turn. If you've found room in it for your deck then kudos.

Tutoring for Akroma's Memorial has always been my way to deter any possible onslaughts my way. Sure, my zombies could die because they're not indestructible, but Death Baron gives them deathtouch so people think twice about attacking me. Also, Filth in the graveyard plus Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in play is always game over. Always. And the combo is so easy to pull off. It's very easy to get Filth in the graveyard and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in play. After that it's just amassing the army - which is something the deck exceeds at.

I needed a sweeper that could get under Teeg, and this seems to be the best choice I'd say.

Contemplating putting in some targeted removal, but that may dilute the deck too much.

Would also like to test Eldrazi Monument, but unsure of what to cut.

You're playing Sidisi. You should play creature wipes.

Massacre Wurm is absolute fantastic, especially when you've got a clone or a way to repeat the effect.

There are also some others that are a little high in cost, but still solid if you think you can cast them reliably.

Been awhile since I've updated. I've changed the OP to reflect my updated list.

Added Mike/Trike combo, couple more counters, took out some stuff that ends up dead late game, i.e. Azusa, Burgeoning, and Exploration.

Yeah, one of the things I came to realize in my own deck was that accelerated draw and dropping lots of lands gave me a lot of resources but no way to play them. They all became dead draws. So I went more for scouring the top cards of the deck and whatever didn't go to my hand that went to my graveyard would always be win/win to me. I found that this was the best route to take. So I see what you did there.

I appreciate the suggestions.

I had Deadbridge in here originally, but it felt underwhelming. With the Eldrazi Titans being in here, it makes those cards be not so great in here.
