If you're gunning for a "discourage people from attacking me" board-state, I think you could stand to fit a few more "rattlesnake" effects in there. Maze of Ith, Kor Haven, and Mystifying Maze all do a terrific job of deterring attacks towards you. Soul Snare is pretty effective at the same thing.
I'm also a huge fan of the "damage-reducers" in my own MK deck. Thunderstaff is awesome, especially since it pulls double-duty if you're planning on using a Storm Herd / Sacred Mesa token swarm as your finisher. With your ramp and late-game leanings, you may also want to consider Hedron-Field Purists.

And good call on Thunderstaff, I have it set aside for consideration but I hadn't though about its activated ability in conjunction with my token cards. Hedron-Field Purists will also probably find its way in.
Bauble actually accelerates you...but map can find you any land you're needing. You could also throw in Secluded Steppe/Drifting Meadow for some more card draw.
