Gotta skip right down to Nissa, cause I was thinking about her as well. However, only because I pulled one in a random booster I was given. Her abilities are awesome but, without 6 cmc Elspeth I figured walkers were out. What about it in Seleva is good? I'm still yet to try that...
In Selvala I often search up Cradle as early as possible.
She untaps cradle and now I can tap cradle again for more and cradle is a creature as well now.
I have a 5/5 now as well so Selvala adds another 5 mana so casting Emrakul or whatever is super easy

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
I'll try slotting her in. I've been away from cards for more than a month and I think I wanna start back here. I also want to try finks- life gain is great, and a chump blocker that gains life that easily would actually cover the hole in the games I've lost- even to annoying things like Norin. Maybe he's not it but thinking about him made me realize what's really been going wrong.
PS If you ever wanna turn that blog into a website in the future....more writers means more subs
Kitchen Finks plus Ghave makes us pretty hard to kill. And it helps a ton with our life abuse effects like Necro so I really wanna slot him in as soon as I can.
I'm trying to think of potential cuts and the only real one I can think of is Thalia. She's great and all but doesn't have the same synergy the rest of the deck does. Maybe Dark Confidant too, not sure about that.
Also I'd love to turn the blog into a channel. More writers would make things easier on me though.
And a PR person so I don't have to reply to everything

I've been struggling to find an identity for my W/B cards that aren't in any of my other EDH decks for a while now. The deck turned in mostly W/B wipes and removal with some reanimation and lifegain. I was trying to decide between Karlov and Ayli to command it today, but now your deck has me wondering if I should add green. I was especially trying to ignore green because I use it too much, but it wouldn't be used in the typical way for this kind of deck. I think the green really adds a nice punch to the typical stax deck.
If you had to take green out, what would you have to stick back in to fill the holes?
Kaalia's Army of AnnhilationRWB
Obzedat, Ghost Council - Life Gain MattersWB
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord - Fatty Reanimator ToolboxBG
Nekusar, the Mindrazer - Draw to DieRBU
Marath, Will of the Wild - Token Pump and TapGWR
Roon of the Hidden Realm - Blink to BleedWBG
Bitterblossom was cut a while ago because it didn't do enough. Making tokens was mostly for keeping smokestack alive but Ghave does that fine.
Wildspeaker would be ok but usually when we land wipe we have mana dorks or rocks so we can cast our spells fine. I don't think he's needed.
Vorinclex doesn't really do anything here. A vast majority of our spells we can play within the first few turns and tapping opponents doesn't really matter when we're trying to land wipe anyway.
Teeg actually prevents us from playing a lot of our spells.
Position was cut a while ago because it really doesn't do much even with grove.

I've been enjoying Kaya, Ghost Assassin. It's a meta choice, but the control she has after a board wipe fills in what I needed in case I had to boardwipe early. I think it's still me adjusting to the deck, but it seems worthwhile in the archetype here.

What does she in your deck?
I get that she can reset Ghave and we have a few powerful etbs but I'm not seeing too much potential. At least enough to have her in over the things on my test list.

Just players who can push thru after MLD through draw. Sometimes I have no choice but to wipe despite some players having dorks/rocks. With that little mana they could come back, or at least be pacing with me. I really think it's just I'm still out of place with the archetype, it's probably positions I shouldnt get myself in.

Makes sense but I often find myself getting Mindslicer for that. A lot of the time that Necropotence is on the stack I'm sacrificing mindslicer so no one can interact and I have a full grip after

Been playing a ton of Ghave (Because it's my favorite) and love the 99 we have. Still wanting to test out these guys
Imperial seal
Weathered Wayfarer
Kitchen Finks
Liliana, hertical healer
Restoration Specialist
Nissa, Vital Force
Woodfall Primus
Sadistic Hypnotist
Chrome mox
Mox diamond
Renegade Railer
Not sure what I would cut for any of them but am wondering.
Thoughts?

Off the top of my head I'd say this is a great opportunity to see if you truly need a 5 drop mana rock or a draw effect that works for your opponents even if it does put in more work for you. I'd test in the slots of gilded lotus and fecundity.
I really like lotus after Cataclysm, death cloud, geddon, or ravages. It works so well for closing the game after.
Fecundity I like because it's not often opponents will draw even close to how many I will

I get it lol. The cards are both great but so is the whole list. But like I said, it's a good opportunity to see if they're truly needed. Changes aren't exactly permanent.
That's fair. I'm probably just over attached to a bunch of these cards at this point since I've been playing the same list forever.

Lol I know that feeling. It takes me forever to drop sudden spoiling out of any black list due to a personal love of the card. It's such an amazing political tool as long as you trust your opponent to make the correct blocks.
I've been playing Renegade Rallier. He's honestly awesome and moving right up my favorite creatures list. He just fits into a bunch of standard loops we have, sun titan etc. Gets plenty despite how limiting it feels not hitting that three. He's also essentially a worst case Wood Elves, which isn't that bad. I think he's also gonna be clutch for cards that come in, I'm trying to cut costs myself, I think my issue is just I need to push a turn ahead, even if it means trading in effectiveness for a bit of cost efficiency. Ghave is still one of my favorites. It's also extra exciting since I've been here since the ground up and watched your baby grow
I agree and I need to cut a few more cute interactions for overall better cards.
No doubt that Mox Diamond and Chrome mox are better than elves but it's hard to say which ramp spell to cut.
Is Railer better or worse than Witness?
Is Finks better or worse than Post?
Is Primus win more?
I need to test but nothing in my 99 has been underperforming.

Why is there no discussion of Ashnod's altar? Just curious as I thought it was a Ghave staple, easily comboing with him to make infinite mana and tokens
The altar indeed combos very easily but it takes a 3rd card to combo, none of which are particularly synergistic with dtdb's list.
I run both Ashnod's and Phyrexian altars in my list, but my list is made around tokens and +1+1 counters rather than the stax route seen here. Granted, i stll dont use my altars to combo (unless it's that 3 hour game that just needs to end already), they're just there as part of a sac for profit package that i run.
I think Temple is the right cut because I can't think of another land I'd want to swap with it. Not sure on it 100 percent but the other colorless lands are better.
I kept Forest and Plains over swamp since Urborg is in the deck and swamp doesn't work with Knight of the Reliquary.
Thoughts?

Doesn't really work with the rest of the deck. Sure it's fine with ghave combo but that's not really the focus here.

Long time follower to your 2 primer decks. I have a couple of questions - and if you wish, so they do not dilute your primers, you could message me instead.
Related:
I am not the best deck builder. I sometimes do not have the time to layout what I have, sit down and construct, or modify current decks that I have. Would you recommend copying? I initially mimicked the deck list (only made a few minor modification due to lack of a few cards).
How often do you update the deck? Is the op's decklist current?
To get ideas of possible alternative cards, would you recommend looking at your list changes? iirc, some of my changes were ideas from the stax primer. However, I did not agree with some of your changes and kept the cards in. Or added your new card and removed something else.
How do you deal with non-interactive decks? As in a Planeswalker Atraxa, Praetors' Voice deck.
Are you currently working on this deck solely or Tasigur as well? Some of these questions are also related to that primer and if you want, you could reply in that thread or message me.
In the end, thank you for this deck. No one was running stax. The main meta is, in this order, G(r} Ramp, U(x) Control, and Voltron. I predominantly needed a really good answer to ramp ramp ramp and more ramp...but also creature removal because so many [newer] players don't run removal/board wipes. I am trying to assist them with thread assessment and adding removal.

Every list I make is tailored to handle my own group. While they do extremely well outside of my own groups because the power left is often lower I made them all to beat those decks. I can see certain things changing depending on what you play constantly.
I update decks on here as soon as there is a change. Currently this is what I have to test in Ghave
Imperial seal
Weathered Wayfarer
Kitchen Finks
Liliana, hertical healer
Restoration Specialist
Chrome mox
Mox diamond
Renegade Railer
Woodfall primus
Of all of those Imperial seal is the only one I need to get that isn't in because of budget (That and it's going down much more). If I had one I'd likely cut Thalia. She's a fantasic card but doesn't work with the rest of the deck.
For other options then go ahead and look at the past changes. Some powerful cards (Containation/Bitterblossom) were cut for reasons that make sense in my group but not so much in others.
Decks that aren't interactive just lose the big wrath effects.
Blowing up all the lands or a cataclysm will just win the game against plenty of decks.
Against Superfriends you just win with Cataclsym. If too many walkers are an issue you can easily take them out. If Atraxa being a blocker is an issue land Grave Pact and attack the problem walkers
Currently I'm working on the four decks I have listed.
For a good while I was playing on Selvala and Breya way more but now that I got more used to them I've been playing all of them more equally

Card questions -
Why isn't bitterblossom in the deck?
Why not Garruk Wildspeaker? He can either make a token, or ramp you even if you just have one or two lands after a land wipe.
What about Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger? Ramps you and taps them.
Does Gaddock Teeg work here?
Privileged position lock with sterling grove just win-more?
