I think it's a good option to have because when we need it it's really good and the pressure it can bring unanswered ends games. Same can be said true of elspeth which is a bit unneeded I feel.

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
Ok now I need some actual advice. I'm testing out new cards, but debating what to keep in for synergy. I don't think it's too relevant, but I'm still short the GB dual, but that shouldnt last long.
So, I def want to see an extra dork come in as well as Aven Mindcensor. I'm abandoning Cryptolith Rite and all the other cards I was personally testing. My issue now is, I still have Awakening Zone in, but feel like Gitrog is a better cut just to push towards a combo grind over stax. I was thinking that was the easy answer now, but I hesitate. How do you feel about the idea of cutting just about every 5 cmc plus but Starfield/maybe something im overlooking to push for tutoring and combo junk? My Grim tutor is here meaning I can use it here....but do I slot it out for Idyllic or one of the heavier spells? Without blue, I know these thoughts are perhaps....too bold. I am in the dark as far as what the core should still be. Is it crazy to abandon that all together even when testing? I just know this is where I go down a different road due to lack of experience...
Gitrog has been super good as it works well with Knight/Mindslicer.
Saccing Mindslicer and then being able to abuse fetches or land destruction to get us way more cards has been very relevant in here.
And of course the more fetches you run the better he is.
Also cutting Titania seems bad since she is a win condition herself with land wipes.
Sun titan is also insane in here.
Elspeth is my next cut for the few adds I have on sideboard.
With lowering the curve I find that awakening zone is a safe cut but still have it on sideboard for potential future add.
The issue is sometimes the lockout won't work and we need another finisher and that's when I think something like elspeth would be good but there are probably far better options like new Ulamog or something.
Karn or Ugin could be interesting as well as massive threats to land and board wipe but I'm finding walkers in here worse and worse after cutting Garruk, older elspeth, freylise, and soon new elspeth.
So far these are my ideas for next changes
Elspeth -> Mindsensor
Trinisphere -> Abrupt Decay
Winter orb -> Arbor elf (Could be another elf if land destruction hurts this too much)
Sphere and orb were recent adds so I'm not sure they will be cut soon but so far I've been playing against a ton of Derevi which doesn't care at all about either of these. And with a ton of mana rocks in my group the winter orb and sphere seem a bit win more.

Those were essentially my changes, I just had the jank instead of the artifacts. I think Arbor elf should at least be tested, but thinking of topdecking it makes me worry. But i still run pains, so I wonder the odds of you actually always having it be a forest even after a wipe, making it that much better if it is reliable which it seems it may be.
Edit: that is to go as far as to say "Could I cast it/ is it worth casting. I'm just thinking with your eventual set up at my disposal if I had green mana to spare land wise, it'd always be a form of forest. If I had only rocks, maybe it'd be a problem, but if I'm relying on topdecking and also only have rocks, is that a position I'd every willingly be in/ how likely is it to be in relation to others board control?

Another reason why I have a spare Llanowar elf in the deckbox...just in case arbor elf is a complete dud.
Tested the deck with Arbor elf in the dork spot and when it was good it was pretty good but having it opening hand with something like command tower or having lands die a lot via geddon or knight made it less good. Replaced it with Llanowar elves for now
Also have Aven and decay in the deck over Trinisphere and winter orb as well. Not quite good enough here.

So ya, Arbor feels like a dud. After really thinking about it, I think the only real reason he was trying to get into my deck was because he can end up providing black mana for a t2 necro. The risks just aren't worth it and early enough it seems we can end up with the mana we need, the dork having the potential to only provide the generic mana a turn isn't as bad as I first thought. Really starting to get the flow of the deck.
Yeah the ability to abuse necro was why I thought it would be good but elves of deep shadow has been good there and if truely needed we can always use.phyrexian tower via knight, rotation, or tutor.

Cut elspeth, winter orb, and trinisphere for llanowar elves, abrupt decay, and Sven mindcensor.
Pretty happy with how the deck is piloting currently but am looking for one more big win con.
I think that would be Elesh norn.
Kills the derevi, karador, narset, oloro decks in my group if she sticks and puts a massive clock on opponents with all the token and dorks we have. Sure it's bad with skullclamp but the general is a sac outlet himself so I can see that working out ok.

You know I wanted to suggest her and possibly survival because of how much value creatures we have. I wanted Elesh for the leaders you mentioned as well as some others, plus it hoses dorks. I guess this is the next test slot? I cut Elspeth too and have room for a higher cmc card.
Survival im not into quite yet since we have few ways to recur creatures from the yard but I'm thinking it's coming soon. Rather I want to add eternal witness back in so I have ways to bring back every card in the deck when needed. Afterwards if this route works out I can see it being added. Maybe loyal retainers as well and Iona.

Judge foil or bust.
It's not gonna be another reanimator. I tested Animate dead and necromancy a few weeks ago and didn't really like it
Loyal retainers would get back elesh, ghave, gitrog, titania, which may be too narrow so I'll likely stick to just Eternal witness for the ability to just cast things. We're not racing the fast decks, we're slowing them down to a pathetic crawl so no need to go that route.
Mostly just thoughts coming out of no where. Eternal witness, elesh, and survival are most likely and if that route goes super well then maybe loyal retainers and iona. Probably not though
This is currently this is my test list:
Yes:
Misty/Mesa/Catacombs/Flats
Imperial seal
Horizon canopy
Elvish Mystic
Fyndhorn elves
Eternal witness
Elesh Norn, grand cenobite
Survival of the fittest
Probably not:
Loyal Retainers
Iona, sheild of Emeria
Animate dead
Awakening zone, null rod, and stony silence removed from test list.
Awakening zone is now too slow and didn't care for stony silence of null rod in the deck. Often hurts us more than others and aura shards is just a better answer. Wish there was something similar.

So star field is now cemented in the deck due to it's interaction with Ghave.
Pattern up a token or who cares and eat with ghave. This can be down turn as early as turn 2
Go get rector which gets starfield, upkeep gets pattern to pattern a token and you often get mindslicer to everyone is now in topdeck mode...other than you. You can search up a creature every turn.
Got this going a few times in the last game night where starfield went from a win more to an instant threat.
Even better if you can pattern into rector because if she's targeted with removal you can just use her to get whatever (Living plane or whatever) and then pattern into doomwake/linvala. Lots of games became this combo after finding how quick it can become degenerate. Also finding Fecundity almost as good as necro in a group with pretty much no creature decks. Not great with living plane but drawing 10 cards a turn seems ok

So unrelated to deck progress, but a few of the cards we run have spiked in price. I cant quite recall when I got Living Plane, but it was under 30$, now it's 60. I think I may've gotten some of the foil mana rocks cheap, but the GW signet, charm, and the GB signet are at about 5$~, i paid about 2$ each. Obv not as signifigant as Plane, but it always rewarding to see when a deck you invested in makes you a profit. Way to build a deck that makes money.

You gonna do this? It's hands down the coolest "alt" foil. I'd think it's a worthy investment. I'm banking what I've done for my brother's Animar deck will let me take the foil Elesh he has in the Marath deck we discussed many moons ago that led to all my excitement with this deck.

Well I like getting cool cards just as a side thing
My short list was power 9, judge force, judge drain, ema force, and judge norn and the only one left is judge norn so likely to trade for it in the near future.
Then again the card is cool enough for me to just have it in general. Not sure if I'd throw it in a deck. It's weird to say but it's kinda what I'm thinking with the foil forces and drain

I'm considering aetherworks marvel in here. We can pump it easy with Ghave and there are plenty of land destruction spells and gitrog, knight, effects that make us pump out energy super fast. Sure it's somewhat random but seems maybe worth a shot. Probably just over hyping it but who knows.
Also, likely to cut bitterblossom. I don't miss awakening zone and with so many more dorks incoming I've pitched this card as often as I can.
Thinking either survival of the fittest or another 1 cmc dork in it's slot

I think Survival deserves a shot because of the dorks. I think its a 50/50 as to whats better that or the dork, but I've been playing against your reanimator deck and the utility it brings is bonkers. Sure we can't abuse reanimation, but EoT before your next turn fetching up whatever the turn calls for is just clutch.
The new artifact is really cool, I just question the top six cause the value may not be worth the investment? Idk, but it seems like oodles of fun.

That's also true and with eternal witness and sun titan in the deck nothing we throw in the yard is ever truely dead. Sure hard casting things after a wipe is harder but that's what bloom tender and gilded lotus do best. Just need to find another survival somewhere and i think thats the next add. You didn't mention anything on bitterblossm being the cut, does that seem fair? Also curious as to how my reanimator deck is fairing in your group of thats where you're seeing it.
I may have already talked myself out of the artifact already. Every new set I get hyped about something because its so rare to change cards in decks that I wanna test it out but it's likely a win more here.

I think Bitterblossom is a good idea, just to test without it. I personally love the flying blockers, so I'll keep it in my list.
Your list does really well, it blew out the Titania Cata with Kederekt, but I had totally forgotten he had it and couldve Death Clouded instead of Cata. It was my first game back and I had gotten the Vault foils and actually thought Cata was the cheap MLD the whole game because the art wasnt the ship blowing up. Ugh...
I'd say it's one of the more threatening but struggles to close out just cause of all the counterspells. So far the way it seems in my good meta is: 1. Sharuum (me) or Tas go off too fast to stop, 2. Someone pulls out from the counterspells. 3. Ghave inevitably plays too many threats and eats all the counters or has destroyed all lands.
At this point, these are literally the 3 possible outcomes of our games. Ghave is feeling more and more like the perfect alternative deck to my main because of its pacing. Bouncing back and forwarth is keeping everything so fresh
