MTG Salvation

I got started on this deck because of how impressive the Jeskai Heroic Combo deck has been in Standard. Obviously, this deck can't actually run Jeskai Ascendancy and Anax and Cymede don't untap anything, but the combination of Heroic, Prowess, and cheap cantrips can still be good.



The idea of this deck is to be quick beatdown in a 40 life multiplayer format. There's also certainly an element of spellslinger to it, with a bunch of cheap cantrips that say "target creature" on them.

Would you consider changing your general choice to Ruhan of the Fomori? You could still run Anax & Cymede in the deck. This would give you more access.

If I was going to switch to a Jeskai general it would be Narset, Enlightened Master because she has some synergy with the rest of the deck. Playing blue would probably make the deck better mechanically but it would take away the novelty of playing RW spellslinger aggro. Also, adding blue would mean having access to better cantripping heroic enablers and that would mean I'd have to cut sweet stuff like Formation.

How about Seething Anger or Anoint?

Seething Anger and Anoint seem OK and there are even a few other playable buyback spells that target a creature. In terms of mana-per-heroic-trigger they don't match up very well against things like Sun Clasp and Conviction unless Memory Crystal is in play.

How has the deck been treating you lately? Are you looking at any new cards from FRF to include? I'm working on a similar deck and am naturally curious about your build here.
