Greetings fellow Izzet mage, this is my Melek, Izzet Paragon EDH deck. It has been a work in progress for about a month or two and I have loved playing it. It is fairly budget and is very fun to play and play against. If you have any suggestions please tell me. It must be budget for me to get it. at the moment I am waiting to get Chandra, the Firebrand mainly to avoid attacks.
I don't have time for specific suggestions but here is my melek list. Not really focused on a specific wincon, there are about 5 different ones that I have won with so far (eg sphinx wand, epic experiment, red sun zenith, rite of replication). Hope you can find some cards that you like the look of.
Often, simply saying "So I guess you're trying to figure out if I'm going to play this (Insert bounce card here)" when an opponent is deciding where to attack can be enough to deter attackers.
Forget about the pricey stuff in my list and just consider these. Other cards might be more expensive, but these are easily some of the best cards in the deck.
Thanks. A lot of the cards mentioned are very powerful. Submerge seems especially powerful because most of my playgroup plays green making this very useful to me. It may take me a while to get a hold on one of them but I will try to. AEtherspouts looks cool and I will try to get one. At the moment I am trying to trade for a foil Cyclonic Rift so hopefully I will get that. Thank you for the quick response.
Grab a retraced image if possible - it's one of the best land ramp spells made for EDH.
Island > Retraced Image > Island > is my very favorite opening play - and sometimes you luck out and use it to cast a Gilded Lotus for U
*Edit: Submerge is going to get a lot better with the reprint of fetches. You cast it in response to the activation and *BOOM* commander gets shuffled in!
If you draw, say... Eight cards off of minds aglow, and cast molten psyche off the top with Melek (duplicating it) it'll Be 16 damage to opponents for the first copy and 24 for the second. Barring any life gain, that's game right there.

That is a very unlikely occurrence because it needs to be exactly nine cards deep and you need to have metalcraft.
At the moment I think I will be switching this deck to a Jeskai deck to add the new cards I am expecting it to be a little more creature based. With the addition of white how should I change the deck. I think the commander will be Narset, Enlightened Master just because her ability is great. I think Melek, Izzet Paragon will be in the other 99 along with Medomai the Ageless but from there I don't know. Please tell me what you think I should add or subtract. I am worried it will break the deck though. Thank you.
I'd think that with Narset, you'd have a pretty different game plan than Melek.
My first stab at Narset would only run the "Extra Attack Step" creatures: Aurelia, Godo, Hellkite Charger (+ SF&F), Scourge of the Throne.
When you have multiples of those out, you stagger their attacks - so if you have all 4 out, you can get 5 attack phases for free.
I'd also run all the relentless assault and Haste effects.
World at war, Fury of the horde, aggrivated assault, breath of fury, savage beating and Seize the Day.
I'd also fill the deck with effects like the Divining Top, Brainstorm, Scroll Rack, and maybe even Library of Leng.
Lastly, I'd toss in all the blue "Extra Turn" effects I could scrape up. I'd probably also include Mana Severance, Endless Horizons, Land Tax and Oath of LIeges and a bunch of Fetchlands to remove as many lands outta there (since they don't work with Narset).
I think that Narset, Enlightened Master is better than Melek, Izzet Paragon because she allows you not to have to spend mana on the spells making cards like Sphinx-Bone Wand Better because you can get a max of 4 instants/sorcerers dealing 10 damage + any burn or other spells. Anyways I think I could adjust the list I have now to encompass white but that's just my feeling. Plus, Narset, Enlightened Master has hexproof and first strike meaning she is easy to attack with and is hard to kill. Thank you for the suggestion but I think I am going to stick with the type of deck I have right now. I believe I can just add white to the mix and I will be OK.

I would love some of those cards but they cost WAY to much. I do want them though.
