Yeah, self-milling with slight reanimation practically guarantees it a slot in the zombie build. Although, I was kinda hoping that Gisa and Geralf appeared as a meld card instead of a one-card legend pair like Anax and Cymede, Mina and Denn, Wildborn, Pia and Kiran Nalaar, and Tibor and Lumia. So the Zombie build can potentially have all three Geralf and Gisa cards, lol.
I will definitely discuss more into detail the potential cards for all my builds when all the cards are spoiled. So far I'm loving the set; it's very ingenious, has great art, and the eldrazi cards aren't lackluster like Zendikar v2.0 Block. Unlike a lot of people are claiming, Magic: the Gathering was the first to create a double-sided card, B.F.G. (Big Furry Monster), and not YuGiOh!. If anything, meld was actually practically done with cards like S.N.O.T., as well. I've seen the trend of sneaking in Unglued and Unhinged cards, mechanics, and art styles into the main game and I'm loving it:
Unglued and Unhinged art would leave into the borders and they do that with planeswalkers.
Flip cards from the Kamigawa block have been said by MaRo to have been inspired by a mechanic he wanted to do in unglued.
Cardboard Carapace cared about which cards you owned outside the game, a precursor to the original intentions of the Judgement wishes.
Free spells that have to be paid upon your next upkeep or you lose the game (the Pacts) are inspired by "super haste" only found on Rocket-Powered Turbo Slug.
I hope this trend continues because some of the most broken cards in Magic come from Un-sets.

I see a lot of people claiming that Gisa and Geralf will be the new go-to Zombie-tribal commander. While I'm sure there will be good Zombie lists with them, I'm just not convinced. I think they belong in the 99 of Sidisi Zombie tribal. I've been playing a version of Sidisi zombie tribal for less than a month (inspired in part by your primer) and I'm fully a believer in her place as zombie queen. The one thing I've been most impressed by is how fast she can manage to rebuild her army after a wipe.
Thanks! Glad my primer was able to help you build your deck.
I concur that Sidisi, Brood Tyrant is still one of the best, if not the best zombie general for EDH. This is even more cemented in the fact that Gisa and Geralf self-mill and let you reanimate one zombie during your turn. This has great synergy with Sidisi, Brood Tyrant. However, as you clearly pointed out, this is only very useful if your build is devoted to zombie tribal.
I'm hoping this set has some more dedication to zombies and self-milling in general due to the delirium mechanic. I don't think there will be a lot of zombies (if at all) in Kaladesh (or self-milling enablers, for that matter). Hopefully, this year's Commander product will provide some nice cards for Sidisi, Brood Tyrant. It's not that the deck is lacking or that it needs better cards, since it's pretty solid. However, I'm always psyched to see cards that are strictly better or have better overall synergy with the deck. The deck needs cards that have as many uses as possible since self-milling requires reanimation and other ways of accessing what's in the graveyard. That, and the deck is super fun to pilot. So, let's see what happens when the spoilers end!

I agree. We've only seen a few cards and already this set looks like it's going to give Sidisi a lot of goodies!
Thanks again for the great write-up! Sidisi is so much fun to play. I finally got my hands on a Mesmeric Orb (why couldn't I have wanted it when it was super cheap...) and wow, that card really takes this deck from 1 to 100...

Wow, I feel a little silly that I didn't even think about that synergy... I actually have a Seedborn Muse already. It's in another deck, but I'm not above sharing, haha.
Currently my only deck is a marchesa good stuff deck, but after seeing Gisa and Geralf spoiled today, im dead set on finally making a zombie tribal deck. My question for you is, besides the token doublers, what are you really gaining from green in a zombie tribal deck by running sidisi? Just curious.
Trample (using the Commander Behemoth for budget atm)
Additional Tutor (Jarad's Orders)
Right now I'm running a very similar list to his competitive deck without the old dual-lands and Gaea's Cradle. River of Tears is just such a cool card, I had to use it.
Grapple with the Past (1G - Instant, mill 3 return creature or land from gy to hand) is probably just going to replace Mulch. However, I may try swapping it for Sudden Reclamation to lower the curve a little bit.
I use Mindwrack Demon atm, but will replace it with Gisa and Geralf for a little redundancy with Havengul Lich (Although he's better) and self-mill feature. I'm running the combo variant, but it is nice to possibly catch some of your buffers or a utility zombie like Sidisi.
Sidisi, Brood Tyrant just helps out the zombie strategy in so many ways and can be a reliable threat in herself including easy infinite combos (Sidisi + Self-Untap + Mesmeric Orb]. You could throw in a basalt monolith if you like. An unanswered Venser = combo pieces the turn after you play him.
Sidisi offers a way more interesting playstyle than most other commanders. I absolutely hated commander before giving her a try. My first attempt was a Marchesa deck, but didn't really enjoy it. Sidisi accomplishes what I wanted from that concept. Life from the Loam really just makes this type of deck that much better.
Most of the changes were for budget reasons, but I did make some changes for personal taste / tweaking. Corpse Churn has been amazing, so I know Grapple with the Past will be also.
I did some pretty hardcore testing on Tabletop Simulator before finally ordering the cards for the deck. It plays really well in all but the most elite settings. It's definitely not a duel deck though.

I would like to second ArcherDarks comments on the utility of green for a zombie deck. I would understand the spirit of your doubt on including green in a zombie commander if it were just any Sultai-colored general simply for access to green. However, with Sidisi, Brood Tyrant that is not the case. It's not used as the commander simply for access to green but because it's a zombie engine that has ridiculous synergy with zombies and the graveyard. Dredging and self-milling are predominantly green/black. Green also has access to graveyard recursion, ramp, and token enabling. Curiously, green self-mills more than blue and/or black ever could. On top of that, green self-mill cards have built in recursion in them (Mulch, Grisly Salvage, Sudden Reclamation, Life from the Loam, (and even some new cards from Eldritch Moon), among others). Green self-mill spells and abilities help Sidisi incredibly in doing so many things at once in one motion. ArcherDarks already mentioned some of the best green cards for the deck as well.

I like your deck for what it is but I'm more interested in a build that focuses more on zombies with a bunch of synergy and maybe some infinite combos.
@DementedKirby, Just curious, your zombie build in the first post, that is more likely the deck that I want to try and build. But you also call it a casual build, does it have the stopping power to take down a whole table or is it actually a casual build? I want the best zombie deck out there without straying to much from the theme.
It's casual in the sense that it's not as cutthroat as the competitive build - but it's still a powerful deck. You can definitely take out the entire table with it because the horde becomes so large with such large zombies that you can basically kill the whole table with combat damage.
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
Okay! So it's that time of the year again for a set release review! As usual, I will not simply discuss all cards that are possible merely due to commander colors. I will discuss all possible cards that fit the ideology of the deck. Alright! On with the review!
Contingency Plan - This card actually seems great. You get to choose what goes to the graveyard and what stays on top. Granted, the cards don't go to your hand but you can choose to send all 5 to your graveyard or leave all 5 on the top of your library in any order. Being that it's a common that costs a mere 1U means that I can easily test this in the Budget Build.
Fortune's Favor - I may be wrong, but I feel like this is just a really bad Fact or Fiction. I can only really see this comboing in an Emrakul, the Promised End deck. I don't like the fact that my opponent can potentially control what goes to my hand and what goes to my graveyard. There are better cards for the decks, honestly.
Cryptbreaker - This one I can definitely see being used in the Zombie Build. Super cheap to cast, provides a discard outlet, and I can draw cards by tapping zombies. Definitely gonna find space to test this one!
Dark Salvation - Another massive zombie making spell! However, unlike Empty the Pits it's not at instant speed, even though it costs BBB less to cast. Although it is a sorcery, I produce so much mana in the Zombie Build it's a good card to include just for the massive amounts of zombies it can make. Not only that, you can potentially kill indestructables with it. Oh, and it's very political as well, since you decide which player gets the zombies. Given that philosphy, this card should've definitely had a surge cost as well.
Liliana, the Last Hope - The first ability isn't all that useful in commander, however, it's other two abilities are anything but useless. She won't ultimate with Doubling Season alone but procuring that emblem will get that you that step close to sweet victory. Liliana, Defiant Necromancer won't ultimate either with Doubling Season alone but I still run her in the Zombie Build. Running both may be conflicting so I may end up running both or choosing between one or the other. I'll definitely test them both at once first.
Liliana's Elite - Very similar to cards like Boneyard Wurm and I've already discussed in great detail why I've opted to not run creatures that depend on the amount of creature cards in my graveyard. That goes without saying that other players do prefer running those types of cards. If that be the case, then go for it, you have another similar creature here!
Noosegraf Mob - Very interesting card, especially with ways of doubling the amount of +1/+1 counters and the amount of tokens. It's also a zombie which means it can be recurred. It makes tokens whenever a player casts a spell, which means both myself, any teammates, and opponents. The casting cost is the only thing that I'm weary of; I don't want to run too many high costed spells, especially since the new mulligan rule got placed into effect. It's still a good card to test in the Zombie Build.
Oath of Liliana - If I could blink permanents this card would be crazy. If I ran more planeswalkers then maybe it could be worth my while. That being said, it's an enchantment so I may end up passing on this one.
Crop Sigil - For its casting cost it seems pretty reasonable. The only thing I don't like about it is it's a noncreature.
Gisa and Geralf - I've been discussing this card a bit throughout the thread. This might not make it in the Main Build but it's definitely going into the Zombie Build. I'd have to see what to swap out to test for it.
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
Yeah, the reasons you stated were basically why I excluded it. It's not really that good for the Main Build and I think it'll be too expensive for the Budget Build. If it were a zombie, then I might've tested it out in the Zombie Build.

I think Grim Flayer deserves discussion/testing. One of the main angles is Urborg & Filth. When that is online, what we want anywas, Grim Flayer seems awesome, because it is a repeatable effect, puts other creatures in the yard, plus it is a creature itself.
I second that notion as well. I look forward to testing him for a number of reasons. For one, delerium is easy to activate, so he's almost always going to be coming in as a 4/4 trampler for two. Even without filth or wonder, there's usually a player open enough to attack for a reliable trigger (at least from my experience). Plus that trigger is really relevant; Sidisi can always use some topdeck filtering to compensate for the unpredictability of her self-milling. When he connects you have a chance to set up your draw for the next turn, which could end up saving you from milling something out of the top three that you really need. Or, you just chuck it all if none of it is gas, potentially making a zombie in the process.

Until recently I had loved having Tasigur in the deck as an alt to Sidisi, but as I just added Genesis I'm much more hesitant to play him and use his effect.
I was wondering what were I could replace him with? I was considering testing the new Emrakul since it should be pretty easy and am pending to get my hands on an Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre.
I'm glad my deck has served to inspire your own build! You should definitely add Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre in Tasigur's place. It's basically a staple here and definitely more useful than Newmrakul.

Alright, will do.
I'm guessing Emrakul doesn't work all that well in the deck is because of her cost and since she doesn't do anything when reanimated?
He's referring to Emrakul, the Promised End which is yet to be officially released (though it was already prereleased) and thus, as of yet, not banned.
Alright, will do.

Yeah the new Emrakul doesn't really have a place in this deck.

Again, as I've stated before, making changes in this deck is pretty difficult due to how tight the deck is. That being said, I managed to find a slot for Splendid Reclamation in the Main Build by swapping out Dread Return. I also did the same change in the Budget Build because the current price for Splendid Reclamation is about $1.
These changes in the Zombie Build have me a bit uneasy because I don't like having less than 33 creatures in any Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck and these changes bring it down to 32... It wasn't easy having a net change of -3 creatures and I went against my own philosophy of swapping out 5 creatures for only 2 creatures but I feel the changes were well worth it. Hopefully I can get some more creatures back into the deck with the next set.
Here's the changes I've been very happy with in the Budget Build:
Even though I took 2 creatures away for 2 noncreature spells, I'm still at a comfortable 36 creatures. Also, the changes are significantly better and doesn't really affect the overall price of the build. It's still at around $60 which is still a pretty sweet price for this deck.
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
I have been waiting to see what you put in from Eldritch Moon, and have to agree with you apart from one change.
Noxious Ghoul has won me a few games, through being part of Living Death or Conspiracy and Rooftop Storm combo. Stack your cards properly and you can end up wiping everyone else's boards allowing you a free swing.
Also helps I have a few players in my pod that run token generation so the -1/-1 impacts on them significantly.
Yeah, swapping out Noxious Ghoul was something that I thought a lot about. My reasoning being that facing against another deck that generates a lot of creatures has never been a problem. My creatures eventually become unblockable so I can just eliminate that player with relative ease. It was still a difficult decision, though.
The changes in the Zombie Build aren't permanent (yet) so it hasn't been reflected in the main post. However, the changes in the Main Build has. After some extensive testing I will determine how permanent these changes will be in the Zombie Build. So far, the changes in the Budget Build have been great so I will permanently change them in the main post.

You couldnt find room for Hyper Pig (Decimator of the Provinces). Sac outlet + mini craterhoof behemoth.... I'll be trying to shoehorn him in somewhere.
