I like how players think they solve a problem by exiling something only for me to have Riftsweeper enter the battlefield and then recover the exiled thing from my graveyard afterwards. That alone is worth it.

Now that this site closes, will you post your primer somewhere else?
Would be sad to see something this extensively written go down because of poor decisions from Curse...

Before the site closes down, I will do my best to keep it as neat and complete as possible because the site will be archived. As to where else I can post it I have no idea... I honestly don't know where else to turn for my MTG needs besides MTGSalvation.

Ugh, a little over a month before the site goes down and somehow my account got messed up and I had to create a new one. Anyway...
You'll have to let us know where you go with it, we'll definitely want to keep up with it. From what I've read some of the forum mods & admins are starting a site soon.
Thanks for all the support, guys! I will definitely try and move to wherever the current mods and admins are planning on going. Hopefully, it's not too dissimilar to this one and it can be a hub for all our MtG needs! Probably in a month's time I'd have had enough time to look around and see where the wind takes me. But I will definitely let everyone know - especially on my primers and the threads where a lot of people have discussed on my decks and ideas.

Couple new cards today that aren't bad, but they probably won't make the deck.
Graveshifter- essentially a shapeshifer Eternal Witness but just for creature cards and costs 1 more.
Mob- single creature removal spell for 4B, but has convoke so could at times be free.
Ransack the Lab- 1B to look at top three, one to your hand, other two to graveyard. Maybe budget version? Haven't really looked at that build so unsure if it would be good enough.
Return from Extinction- a 1B disentomb sort of, has two choices- regular disentomb or double disentomb that share a creature type.
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
Stream of Thought - It only costs U and self-mills 4. It's already more efficient than most self-mill spells for that alone. Not only that, but I can shuffle up to four cards from my graveyard. This allows me to return some cards back into the library that I might not want in the graveyard. Definitely worth considering.
Ransack the Lab - Definitely going in the Budget Build. Good way to filter the top 3 cards of the deck and potentially trigger Sidisi.
Undead Augur - There's definitely potential in this one. I don't like to draw that much into the deck because I prefer to self-mill. Drawing to then discard fills the graveyard but doesn't trigger Sidisi.
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
Wow, I totally missed Stream of Thought!Probably will play-test it and see how it goes. Undead Augur looks interesting though I'm not sure how useful card draw will be in the deck but I'll probably play-test it.
The main reason for these changes is that the cards have been steadily creeping in price until they are no longer considered budget per my own self-imposed restrictions and challenge of making the deck as budget as possible. It's fine, though because I was able to make some solid additions to the deck in their place. For a lot of people "budget" is less than $200 but I want budget to be as close to $50 as possible. It's not easy with a three-colored deck but I get by.
With less planeswalkers Doubling Season isn't really worth a slot here - even if its main goal is to double zombies. The deck doesn't really play with counters and I wanted a slot for Tamiyo. I know, I removed it for lack of planeswalkers only to add a planeswalker, but I feel like Tamiyo will pull its weight more than Doubling Season. I removed Growing Rites of Itlimoc because I don't want to bottom-deck cards, I want topdeck manipulation and self-mill. Sure, having 2 Gaea's Cradle in play by having Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun in play with Gaea's Cradle is epic, but without sufficient mana sinks it's just winmore. Bond of Insight was desperately seeking a slot and this was it. Fortunately no creatures were cut this round.
The more time that passes the harder and harder it is to find cuts for new cards for this deck. Especially when those cards are amazing. It's gonna come to a point where I'm only going to swap out cards if they're strictly better than anything already in the deck.

I tell ya, having Glen Elendra Archmage & Pact of Negation saved me today. Gave me just enough counter magic to keep someone from board wiping, destroying my sac outlet, and countering one of my creature spells. Holy crap.

Glad you suggested them before! Thanks again!
Don't sweat it! BUG definitely has the advantage of being in the right color for disruption and responses. Free counters are great because they come out of nowhere. Counterspell creatures are the best at this as well. Many a time have I cast Frilled Mystic or Mystic Snake to save my board state, only to have yet another body on the battlefield. Most of the time players aren't really keen on what you keep in the graveyard if it's too big - especially when not running graveyard hate. Lots of times I'm reanimating counterspell creatures. If another such creature gets printed I'll have to try and find a way to squeeze it in.

The decklist is so tight now that it's ridiculously hard to make cuts.
Tell me about it! Since last night I haven't been able to find a slot for Stream of Thought in the Main Build. And I've been considering adding the horizon lands in lieu of the pain lands since I can sacrifice them for draw and recur them later with Muldrotha or World Shaper.

Almost. I only made slight changes to the deck since I last updated the primer. I'll most likely update the recent changes during the weekend.
Before MTGSalvation gets archived I am going to polish my primers and non-primers so that they at least continue serving others as they've done now. So from here until then, I will be continuously updating any changes, typos, grammar, etc.
On that note, since this is the most popular primer of the 3 I have, I would like to ask you all for some input. I've been considering for a couple of years now to use YouTube to brew, discuss, and play non-cEDH multiplayer commander. I know that many MtG youtubers have amazing and excellent content on the matter but I always like to go down the path not taken and possibly fill a niche with a variety of ideas from optimizing seemingly random commanders to redeeming legendary creatures from "bad" sets to spewing forth the jankiest of jank, among other original and zany ideas I have. Commander is a format that flourishes on these machinations and honestly, in no other format could it be possible otherwise. It'll start off as a casual thing and then I'll see where it goes from there. It's not gonna be flashy or anything, but hopefully it gets the job done. I am mostly a misanthrope, somewhat of a hermit, but not as intensely so as a hikikomori, so I have no social media outlets (no facebook, instagram, etc.) but I do like gaming communities. For the most part all the crews I've had have either moved away or sold their entire collections (mostly to me) upon quitting MtG. So I almost exclusively play EDH on Cockatrice but playing online gets old after a while. I feel that maybe YouTube could be a way for me to remain active in this hobby without simply brewing and playing on Cockatrice. I do eventually build the decks in cardboard but hoarding a bunch of cards without actually playing with them is a bit disheartening. I always liked the feel of physically playing the game and seeing the table and the board states and seeing people's reactions to plays, etc. In any case, ranting aside, what do you guys think?
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
I don't understand the purpose of the untappers here, they seem like bad dorks. Is there a use of them I don't understand?
Mana dorks can't provide as much mana as untapping Gaea's Cradle, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, or Cabal Coffers. Likewise, dorks can't provide the same value as being able to untap creatures such as Whisper, Blood Liturgist, Prime Speaker Vannifar, etc. Additionally, untappers trigger (and can even go infinite with) Mesmeric Orb - a key card in the deck. So, whereas mana dorks may only cost G, the only one that could provide BUG for the deck is Birds of Paradise (which is already in the list) but dorks like Llanowar Elves, etc. only provide G and for 1 more I have an untapper that has way more uses than simply tapping for G.

DK- What's your thoughts on Rot Hulk for the zombie build?
I like Rot Hulk because even in a 3DH game it's a beast. It can reanimate two zombies from the graveyard and it's a 5/5 with menace for 7 on top of that. Not only that, but it's gonna benefit from all the zombie lords. So depending on your board state, you're gonna have a fatty and then some for just 5BB.
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
That's kinda what I was leaning towards. I'm reshaping my zombie build a little and I remember it catching my eye when it came out but I've yet to try it in the deck yet. Even if you only have one opponent left in the game, you're paying 7 for a 5/5 with menace and likely bringing back at least one creature with it.

Three other zombies but none with abilities that really fit the deck...Rank Officer, Putrid Goblin, and Silumgar Scavenger.
Now that all the spoilers are complete, I will evaluate the set for cards that might work in some way or another with Sidisi.
