Take a quick trip back in time with me... Its a few years back and I've gotten back into magic because of this awesome new format called EDH that actually makes the game fun again. Wizards releases the Sliver premium deck, and I make a vow to start putting together a 5 color foil sliver deck with an optimized mana base. Fast forward to 2014 because duals are expensive. Earlier this year I finally sleeved up what will soon be a completely foiled out 5 color sliver deck. I've been playing and tuning it over the last couple of months, and while it still needs a little work, its a blast to play and and can grab the win out of nowhere as a proper sliver deck should. An optimized sliver deck can hang with all but the most cutthroat combo metas, so this deck will draw some hate... you have been warned.

First off, a big thanx to CruxMDQ for doing a lot of the heavy lifting and play testing in his phenomenal Sliver Overlord Primer!
I really enjoy playing this deck! It's like a giant toolbox that can adapt to just about any situation quickly and efficiently. I am currently working on getting a Sliver Hivelord for the deck, and I'm also looking to test Leeching Sliver and Thorncaster Sliver since I prefer to turn guys sideways than go for the combo win. This may also prompt me to add Venom Sliver, but we shall see. I finally got to try Primal Surge a couple days ago, and wouldn't you know I topdecked straight into Vampiric Tutor I really like the idea of vomiting the deck onto the field, but I'm thinking I might have a couple too many non-permanents and may have to go for Genesis Wave instead to ensure some value.
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
I'd agree that even 9 instants and sorceries feels like too much to gamble on with Primal Surge. I'd either go full permanent, filling the removal/card drawing void with Rhystic Study, Bident of Thassa, and damage + death touch slivers, or drop it for Genesis Wave.
If you do prefer attacking, I can't imagine not using Thorncaster, Venom, Toxin Sliver, and/or Cautery Sliver for a vicious, hard-to-deal with board state.

Yeah, as soon as I can find a foil Genesis Wave, I'm going to throw it in and see how it plays out. I think I'll try Primal Surge a couple more times to see if it nets big.
Toxin Sliver is a maybe for me, but I think Thorncaster Sliver, Leeching Sliver, and Venom Sliver are going to make the cut. I also need to squeeze in Sliver Hivelord, and I'm having difficulty making cuts. Potential cuts would be Pulmonic Sliver, Firewake Sliver, and maybe Bant Charm, but I'm not really sure. I like having that ability to tuck a problem creature, but maybe it won't matter in the long run if the deck is tuned well enough. That's the biggest problem with this deck... it's very difficult to choose something to come out of the deck because most of the effects don't have redundancy because of how consistently you can get a single card with the general, so cutting something normally means losing the effect completely in the deck. I could definitely see value in getting Rhystic Study and Bident of Thassa in the deck even with cutting Primal Surge, but I'm stumped as to what I would take out...
