I'm excited to play with a Jokulhaups, I've never had one before. Pucatrade helped a lot to build this deck. I don't have Mikaeus just yet, but he's in the mail. I got Kiki, Sakashima, and Scourge all that way. I also upgraded the manabase a lot. I previously had loads of CIPT lands, but now I have the Odyssey filters, Tainted lands, and Reflecting Pool. It's a shame that I'm still missing Marton Stromgald, but he's below the value where people want to send off a single card on there.
I had noticed that the Baboons are mandatory and that I might have to blow up my own land sometimes. I feel like it might not be too hard to play around it, if I'm careful when I play it or kill it. As long as I don't have Mikaeus out, I could only have to destroy one of my lands and then kill it permanently.
I think for now I do want to try sac'ing Scuttling Doom for 6 to the face and filling the board with the tokens from Wurmcoil. It's surely christmasland, but with Mikaeus, Marchesa, and Flayer, Scuttling Doom Engine does 25 damage divided up as 6, 7, 6, 6.
I don't have a Preyseizer Dragon, only the Scourge. I feel like High Market and Phyrexian Tower might be wiser choices to get before it, though? Or maybe put off the Tower and get Preyseizer and some pain lands?
Tower is amazing, it's everything we could want. Free sac that can't be responded to, goes in a land slot, and can actually be used as mana accel at times. It doesn't come up much but it, Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar are the only ones that actually work at split second speed since the ability you're sac'ing for is a mana ability. So if you have that out you can mitigate the loss off a Sudden Spoiling or stuff a Word of Seizing.
High Market is fine. I like it, I find the free sac is more important to me than the life gain so I'm currently running it over Miren, the Moaning Well. Although that's somewhat because I had a market and didn't have a well. If I get a well soon that's probably what'll replace Ancient Tomb, I don't think I'll actually take out the market any time soon.
Just watch your curve with all those 6 drops. This deck is all about milking massive value out of cheap creatures. A simple Carrion Feeder will be attacking for 12 in a turn while also recycling your ETBs for you. People don't know how to play against us when half their removal doesn't work and the other half costs about as much as the creature its trying to get rid of and they want to save it for the Vorinclex they know that BUG guy is running. People find it a lot easier to snipe our expensive guys on site, they get the threat of those guys. Marchesa is plenty capable of making her own big guys out of +1/+1 counters and we have guys to steal/clone other people's.
The rest of the cards I needed for the deck came in yesterday and I put it together last night. The only problem, I noticed that I again ordered the cards for a deck and forgot the commander... Also, I misclicked and didn't add in the sage of fables to my cart. I am picking up marches a tomorrow though and will be picking up the sage on Monday probably.
In goldfishing, I ran into the issue of not knowing what to entomb for because I had drawn the anger. When this happens, do you guys just put a necrotic ooze combo piece in the yard? Or just anything good and hope you get the living death?
Well, Ican reliably set up something that wins with Scourge of the Throne and extra phases by t5 so I need to make sure to be the lowest which can be hard between before mentioned effects.

Filth could probably be your alternative Entomb target.

In that case, you're probably better off holding onto the Entomb until you're ready to cast Living End or assemble a Necrotic Ooze combo. If you're not ready to do one of those two things, I'd say a creature in the library is better than a creature in the graveyard.
That said, if your only Entomb target is Anger, it may not be worth running Entomb in the first place. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I'm seriously considering swapping the entomb for a Buried Alive so that I can immediately assemble the Necrotic Ooze combo's and putting my Entomb in another deck.
Having Ooze in play and Entombing in response to something to use their activated ability can't be done with Buried Alive. They both have strengths and weaknesses depending on the situation.

I was at my LGS looking for a Marton Stromgald (finally got one!) and I mentioned to the guy there that I was making a Marchesa deck and he said he had one himself. He mentioned a creature that I hadn't heard of before, Summoner's Egg, which will let you cheat in uncounterable creatures when coupled with a sac outlet. It's not as awesome as Sneak Attack, but it's also not as expensive.

What does everyone think about Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury in a list with 5 other dragons? Now before you answer, know that my list isn't meant to be too heavily competitive, I always try to keep a mild theme to balance it out so I can pull out a deck for pods with really good leaders (Momir, Kaliah, Karador, etc) but still developing players/decks. The downsides I know, but what do you guys think about positives? With the addition of Avaricious Dragon and Dragonlord Silumgar, not all my dragons are bombs. Do you guys think I can get any real value out of it? I'm tempted to do just to make the math from Matron+Scourge+Kiki more fun.
If you want to make Marton Stromgald math more silly, there's the fixed non-legendary version of Marton: Hero of Oxid Ridge. He'd be a better choice than Kolaghan because he pumps everyone but himself.

Is there an actual ooze combo or is it just all the synergy with other activated abilities in the deck?

Hey all, I just picked up a Fulminator Mage and I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out what to cut to make room for it. My creature suite is as follows (I'm on mobile, so I'm sorry it's not sorted by CMC):
I'm thinking Grey Merchant might be on the chopping block. I know Grenzo isn't super popular with everyone, but I do like the shenanigans he enables with a solid scry engine like Thassa. Any thoughts?

I actually thought I cut Archaeomancer awhile back but I guess I'd left it in there as a placeholder for Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed if/when I decide to spring for a copy. Archaeomancer's getting cut for the Fulminator Mage. That's actually a pretty easy call as Archaeomancer's sole purpose is to recur Demonic Tutor, Clutch of the Undercity and Living Death, the only instants/sorceries I run. Thanks!

With the Wizard theme becoming more and more prevalent in the list, and combined with the fact that Filth hasn't been doing much for me lately, I've decided to try substituting Vela the Night-Clad back into the deck in its place. While her evasion is not as good as Filth's with Urborg up, she also helps knock down life totals and doesn't need a second card (Urborg) to grant the permanent evasion (and is also a Wizard). Plus, on a personal note, she has really nice art and is legendary, which I like. Thoughts?
I've been running a Phantasmal Image in my list recently and I actually quite like it. Yes he's vulnerable, but since Marchesa's abilities don't target, he works.. Anyone else ever considered him? Or any reasons not to run him?
Also, i've put in a Sword of the Animist to try out. It's nice but i'm still in doubt since it doesn't really synergize with the rest of the list; any thoughts on that one?
Sword of the animist i feel is better suited in a monocolored deck with little access to ramp. Phantasmal image is a solid card, and would not be bad in the deck at all. I don't run one due to not owning one and having such a tight deck already.

Depends how closely your decklist matches this one I suppose. Archaeomancer is a solid card but it isn't very useful in rune's list for instance. There's 4 instant and sorceries in the whole deck, and bringing back Entomb after it's already buried Anger has limited value. Personally I'm running a few more than that and I still think Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is more than enough. But it all depends on your list and how often you have an instant/sorcery in your yard you want back in your hand.
Well, I don't own a Xiahou Dun, and while I run only a few instants and sorceries, I find that Diabolic Tutor is often a transmute target for me and if I use it to get archaeomancer, then I can chain tutors and assemble a combo win or just a good value. I think that is more valuable to me than phantasmal image, especially given that it is in the 4 drop slot

Also, i've put in a Sword of the Animist to try out. It's nice but i'm still in doubt since it doesn't really synergize with the rest of the list; any thoughts on that one?

Depends how closely your decklist matches this one I suppose. Archaeomancer is a solid card but it isn't very useful in rune's list for instance. There's 4 instant and sorceries in the whole deck, and bringing back Entomb after it's already buried Anger has limited value. Personally I'm running a few more than that and I still think Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is more than enough. But it all depends on your list and how often you have an instant/sorcery in your yard you want back in your hand.
