The deck seems to run better being able to get to 4 mana on a consistent basis and as fast as possible, the mana rocks and dorks seem to help a bunch. Dorks can also swing/block in a pinch. Honestly I think they help, but I like playing fast and aggressive with this deck, but it wasn't keeping up with elves or boros aggro until now. I think it could be sped up even further, but with all the colored mana symbols in the deck, I'm unsure what I really want to add. My first addition by far is going to be Sol Ring for sure, and I might replace the myrs with signets because they come down early, ramp, mana fix, and don't die to wraths.

I play a Sedris, the Traitor King deck and a pet combo of mine is Dread Slaver and Warstorm Surge. Not only can you steal your opponent's creatures but by damaging himself upon entry and sacrificing Dread Slaver to something, you get and infinite loop of Dread Slaver dying and returning It's up to you how to use it though.

That's an interesting combo, I feel that dread slaver might be a bit slow for this deck though. Sedris, the Traitor King is an awesome general for this deck list as well, if you wanted to go for a more tool box play style. I play this deck like aggro/control with a handful of combos should the opportunity arise.

Would it be odd to play Sedris in the 99? Its a 6 cost 5/5 summon with good ability. Or is it counterintuitive with Marchesa as you would lose the unearthed summons when they leave battlefield? Or is it too big creature for the deck curve?
You really need a Sol ring. In addition, what would you think about Mana Crypt? That is the one thing even better than sol ring, especially as Marchesa kinda doesn't mind the damage once in a while?
I don't think there's anything wrong with running Sedris in the 99 at all, he adds a little reach to the deck over some of the more explosive 6 drops I have in my list. I figure he would be a house when it comes to straight attrition wars, but if I were going to add him, I would most certainly run Deadeye Navigator to break the unearth exile clause, which would be 2 six drops instead of one.
I absolutely will be adding a sol ring when i can find one in my messy stash of magic cards. Literally a kitchen table of half completed decks. (It's impressive and awful I know.)
As far as my high drops in this deck, my thinking is they either have to give insane advantage or bring an incredible amount of pressure to the board.
Examples of the ones I run: Scourge of the Throne : Easily adds up to outright kill someone in a single turn. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed : Every creature that comes back is +1 Card Advantage for us. It adds up quickly and can straight up stonewall everyone with Marchesa out. Flayer of the Hatebound : Can kill folks really fast the way the deck plays, also doubles as removal, or tuning our own life. Preyseizer Dragon : This thing is a freaking freight train. I've had one swing as a 28/28 dealing 24 to the dome directly. It's awesome. Vela the Night Clad : Give evasion to your board and can wear everyone's life totals very fast.
I could see not running Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and running Sedris in his place, I happen to like Jin personally. He more often than not draws me a new hand for R off of a sneak attack, or comes flying out of the graveyard ready to wreck everyone's day. I guess he's just a pet card I like

I still think Mana crypt would be good as well (costs a lot though, but so do dual lands as well).
You tried Jokulhaups, was it good when playing?
I was thinking that I would definitely add Jokulhaups and Obliterate to this deck, but maybe they are too expensive to cast?
If it has Jin, then some land destruction shouldn't be a big deal for the play group :). Even something like Damnation could be nice?
Obliterate should be game win right there if you have any board presence and Marchesa.

I actually played Jokulhaups in the deck up until a few days ago. It's literally a 1 card win con in this deck. That's the exact reason I cut it. I love to play land destruction and resource denial (I have a Hokori, Dust Drinker deck as well) but my playgroup got sick of it. It was literally all I would tutor for with Rune-Scarred, because it was all I would need. I eventually started holding it in hand, occasionally discarding it or using a looter effect to get something else. I eventually wanted to just open up the slot for something else, and my Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed showed up in the mail. Honestly if I was 100% all about winning, I'd cut something for it, but it does limit interactivity of games for sure.
I might add burning wish to the deck and keep jokulhaups sided out with some other clutch spells. Some that come to mind:

Ok, I understood, I have few times been in same situation with Primal Surge as it is in both my Animar (not yet in signature) and Enchantment decks. It is a one card win condition as well and when it would be like a third or fourth win with that card in the last few game evenings, it starts to get old. Even if I do not have any way to tutor it in either deck.
Hm, maybe I would use just Insurrection and Rise of the Dark Realms then. Just steal every creature on the board/graveyards, not win instantly :).
All three Primordials would be nice as well... but there are probably few hundred creatures that would be excellent with Marchesa :).
That's one of the great things about this deck. So many great creatures are even better using more than once, making deck choices really difficult.
Seriously consider burning wish if you going to run those big sorceries, that way you can make the slot a lot more flexible. Grabbing a damnation if needed to survive or an insurrection for the win seems like the best way to use the "bomb sorcery" slot. You could even bust out the jokulhaups or obliterate if you want every now and again.
If you want to be a little more on the high risk/high reward you could go with death wish and run whatever you want in that slot. Even helps lower our life if needed. Bonus for being quite a bit cheaper as well.

I'm ok with that though, as now I do not need to carry all the wishable cards with me as well.
(My big deck has about 1000 cards as extras just to wish to play :). )
Yea I had to cut something like 150 cards for this deck. Just too many goodies really. I'm probably going to make the switch to burning wish for my playgroup. I can always side it out and throw one of its targets into the deck if I'm playing a different set of folks.

Mtgo coding is broken so she doesn't return herself. Makes the deck much weaker until wizards fixes bug. I built it in paper too but don't get as much face to face play time as I would like,
Sorry to hear that, I stick to physical cards because I have a really good group I play with about twice a week. As funny as it sounds I think mtgo is a lot more inconvenient than paper magic due to all the steps it takes to do simple things. Even with the direction of duels of the planeswalkers, it still seems too clunky for me. Hope they clear it up for you soon though!

I adore Marchesa, and I've been playing a list for a while that's...not the nicest thing in the world--I play Jokulhaups, Obliterate, Bearer of the Heavens, and Apocalypse-- but still amusing to pilot. A card I've become rather fond of is Brine Shaman, a card that is probably only good in this deck. It's cheap, and has two relevant uses--a normal sac outlet with it's tap ability, and a way to repeatedly counter creature spells with it's secondary ability, in the vein of Voidmage Prodigy. The Prodigy is generally better, but having some redundancy is good in this format, and it can still act as another sac outlet even without it's countering ability, though only once a turn. Notably, it can sacrifice itself, so if you can get counters on the card it can protect itself from exile or tucking. It's a solid card that can be remarkably potent if you protect it. It's fine to play in the early game, and fine in the later game, as you don't need to tap it to use it's second ability.
It's a little worse without the "blow up everything" cards, but Greater Gargadon is my favorite sac outlet in this deck. It can come down really early, it's uncounterable in it's capacity as a sac outlet, and it can't be blown up while it's acting as a sac outlet. And then it comes down as a hasted 9/7 who is ready to get a counter and start crashing in for 10 damage. For a mere 1 red mana, it is an insane card. I can't reccomend it enough.
Assuming the list in the OP is correct, I think you're really missing out on the best lands for this deck--the painlands. Shivan Reef and it's ilk, along with Mana Confluence, City of Brass, Ancient Tomb and Tarnished Citadel are all fantastic in Marchesa builds. We want to always be behind on life so that Dethrone is triggering, and the painlands help us ensure that we are while also providing excellent manafixing.
My favorite top-end card in this deck is Molten Primordial. It hits the field, steals 3 creatures, 3 creatures that you can now attack with, put counters on, and then sacrifice them all to keep them permanently. What's best, is that he then comes back after you sacrifice him, takes 3 MORE creatures, and you can then just immediately sacrifice them. With Marchesa and a sac outlet on the field, Molten Primordial is an absolutely absurd source of field advantage. It's a 1-for-10-- You get one card, kill six creatures, and gain 3. And then you can proceed to kill 3 creatures every time you can put a counter on him.
I know you took it out already, but I would really urge you to put Chaos Warp back in. Though Marchesa is not a graveyard deck in the traditional sense, Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void are absolutely crippling for this deck, as they stop Marchesa from activating her ability. Bouncing them is only a temporary fix, and there aren't any cheap, permanent ways to answer these cards in Grixis other than Chaos Warp. It doesn't have any synergy with the general or strategy, certainly, but it's something that can save you if one of these cards is singlehandedly shutting the deck down.
Marchesa is one of the most interesting generals I've seen in the past few years, and there are a lot of ways to go about building her. Xiahou Dun is a card I'd forgotten about, so thanks for reminding me. Happy testing!
Thanks for the input! I would love to throw all of the land destruction back in, but I have found that my deck has enough ways to win that I haven't needed it. I've had several occasions where I had jokulhaups in hand, and just really never needed to cast it.
Greater Gargadon i'll admit I never thought about. It seems really awesome actually.
I chose not to run the pain lands in this deck because I feel like I've found a good balance on my own life total. I really don't mind them, I just don't really need them.
Molten primordial was in my initial draft of this deck, but got cut before I sleeved the deck up for the first time. I think this might be the replacement for zealous conscripts i was looking for. Yes, i lose one kiki combo, but for something else that can win the game on the spot, and is stronger on its own.
Chaos warp was a hard cut for me, but when playing it, i realized my meta plays almost zilch for grave hate, because they most often utilize it themselves. Bojuka bogs suck and warp doesn't help against those. The one time I did encounter a rest in peace i vensered it off the stack and hit it with vendilion clique.(This would never ever ever happen again but it was awesome)
Highly recommend Xiahou, probably in the top 10 strongest cards in the deck for sure.

I've been playing a similar build and Hall of the Bandit Lord has been a great card if I can't get Anger or Urabrask the Hidden out. It's particularly effective if I can use it the first time I cast Marchesa, the Black Rose since she'll come down and generally immediately be able to get a counter. In the later stages of the game, it can be an outlet to drop your life if you really need to.
Hall of the bandit lord is a good land, but in the land slot for this deck I really like Opal Palace more. The haste and life loss can be great, but being able to have that counter on entry has been more than awesome for me. Kill spells before swinging can be a drag, that's why I use palace as one of my utility lands.
Entomb is in the list almost exclusively for anger anyhow, so it's like I run 3 haste enablers to start out.
Another card I saw in another Marchesa list that really piqued my interest in testing is Blood Celebrant. You can filter it's own mana to set your life total, and just fix your mana hard with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. I would like to find a slot possibly for:
Feast on the Fallen(possible new toy from m15 that looks like it could be a great niche card for us) Soul of New Phyrexia(I'm thinking it could be too mana heavy to use, but protecting our noncreature permanents might arrant a slot)
Cuts i'm considering: Archaeomancer With Xiahou Dun in the deck now, most times this guy is a dead draw. Zealous Conscripts It combos with Kiki-Jiki but really doesn't pull weight without him. Ashling the Pilgrim At its best, she can wipe the board and recur herself with Marchesa. In every game I played, she was a 2/2 that did almost nothing but eat some mana now and again. Master of Waves Can really make your board scary....if your board is already scary. Pretty much the definition of win more in practice.

Brine Shaman is so obscure I have to try it out.

Thanks for the great insight on your build!
Feast on the Fallen(possible new toy from m15 that looks like it could be a great niche card for us)
Soul of New Phyrexia(I'm thinking it could be too mana heavy to use, but protecting our noncreature permanents might arrant a slot)
Cuts i'm considering:
Archaeomancer With Xiahou Dun in the deck now, most times this guy is a dead draw.
Let me know what you guys think!
