I have started testing Hanweir Garrison, in addition to the Battlements, as a way to go wide, but also because of some digging I did when I played around with an Infect version of Marchesa and discovered Breath of Fury. Garrison and that is an infinite attack step but more importantly, Breath is a psuedo-sac outlet and good even if we're not swinging forever.
I forgot all about Breath of Fury. I definitely have one sitting in my box somewhere, I forget why I bought it. I currently have no equipment or auras in my build but if any deserves a spot its probably that. I was never a huge fan of Scourge of the Throne (even if he is effective), maybe I'll try it out.
Also I kind of forgot how much power Hanweir Garrison can throw down for 3 mana so maybe its time to see if he can find a slot too. I do run the battlements already so at the very least it could be fun to run him until I managed to meld him once then decide if he actually deserves a spot.
The turn they swing, you get +3 Power from Marchesa Dethrone and two 1/1s for 5 damage. That increases to 10 damage on the turn afterwards (1 +1/+1 counter on the Garrison, 2 +1/+1 counters on the 1/1s and two more new 1/1s). After that it gets even more exponential - 19 power. That's a lot of damage from a little 2/3 for 3. The best part is that all of these 1/1s it generates can be fed into Attrition, Skullclamp and just more poke to punch through opponents.
This is all in theory. I'm going to want to play more with it to see how Magical is my Magical Christmasland scenarios.
If you perfectly curve, you don't have time to pay Equipment costs. If you have less expensive cards, suddenly you do. Hell, I'm considering adding a few Swords of X and Y to my Marchesa to give my dorks more punch.
@ Slikwilly: I think Jokulhaups is the definite haymaker. If you're going to piss off the table, might as well win. It's also easy to telegraph with 5 mana open. And since we're playing Aggro, leaving mana unspent is hurtful - specifically with Marchesa being a tempo deck. After all, we don't have the big mana combos or creatures that everybody else in the format does; we grow our beaters.
Already running Jokulhaups (and Death Cloud), just kinda looking for another card to set the table back.
I had the exact same thought. And the best part is you can Sac him and have him ready to go the next turn. 5 power on a Dethrone swing isn't bad. I think we've found a definite replacement for Scourge of the Throne.

The downsides that I see are that he cannot swing again on the same turn, unlike Scourge, nor does he fly. That said, he doesn't rely on dethrone to get his effect and he costs a lot less, so I'll be giving him a try when he comes out.
What do we think of Hazoret's Favor? It seems like a good way to give our recently played creature a power boost and haste, along with getting a sacrifice use out of it. However, I'm not sure if anything is worth cutting for it.
I'm exactly where you are. I really like it but idk if it's good enough to warrant cutting something else.
Olivia, Mobilized for War?
PROS
Haste is free. Olivia makes you pitch a card to grant it (pretty expensive cost, I use this ability very infrequently because of that)
Free EOT sac effect. Usable once per turn even if the creature didn't need haste.
CONS
Not a creature. 3/3 flyers for 3 are pretty awesome, big con here.
No dethrone = probably no haste. Olivia provides a non dethrone source of counters, this really banks on dethrone.
No immediate +1/+1 counter. I'd expect to be able to get a +1/+1 counter via dethrone if I'm using this ability but its worth noting.
I can't imagine replacing any other haste source for this. And I feel like the cons probably outweigh the pros even for olivia. Could replace a sac effect? Maybe Eldrazi Monument since it is also a noncreature? But honestly that feels like a pretty crappy trade.
Yea idk. And all the cards not pulling their weight have been cut long ago.
I think Hazoret's Favor is good for leave the battlefield effects (Matter Reshaper, Treasure Keeper, Solemn Simulacrum, etc). It's nice because it will help act as a psuedo sac outlet, helps with haste, and can let you get those last points of damage in throughout a game. Since it's an enchantment it might also avoid a lot of removal from your opponents if your meta doesn't run a lot of enchantment hate.
With my deck I have found myself running around 5-8 enchantments just because they can sit out on the battlefield and provide me with immense amounts of value throughout the game. My opponents most times can find answers to my creatures but not for those few pesky enchantments that'll let me get right back into the game. When I look at hazoret's favor I see a card that if I land it turn 3 it can let me get an additional 10 damage throughout the game, while providing haste, and possibly letting me reuse etbs. So I'm definitely gonna try it out in my deck and see how it plays.
Combat Celebrant is very interesting. I want to slot him in to see how many different ways I can get him to go infinite. Sadly he is a human so he won't be going infinite with mike. The only thing I don't like about him is that he doesn't untap himself when you go to take an extra combat he only untaps all other creatures, but cloning him makes it really funny.
As for Arcbound Ravager I recently got a masterpiece of it and don't have a deck to try it in. So I'm going to count how many artifact creatures I have in my deck and most likely slot it in.
Arcbound Ravager is the most expensive piece of the Artifact build of Marchesa. Just throw in all of the Arcbound creatures and you'll have a much scarier deck. For ideas, look at plushpenguin's build.
I guess it gives us repeated removal and can really body our opponents, especially if it is something like Wight of Precinct Six that comes back big instead of having to grow over time.
So far I only have Combat Celebrant as a must-test card; perhaps the Manticore can be tossed in for testing as well.
For me, I seem to simply be winning with the same few sources of damage or life loss. I'm trying to look for more, especially since I... surprisingly cut Flayer of the Hatebound.
It is normally a heretical decision, but the fact of the matter was that my deck is filled with artifact sacrifice outlets, and only two-three of them can infinitely sacrifice creatures.
I'm now looking for extremely high damage dealers that have artifact synergies. Hellkite Igniter might need to be tested.

So I stumbled across a card today, which I believe could be a massive tempo swing that suits Marchesa: Cephalid Constable. You make this guy a 2/2 or 3/3 and if he connects you basically Armageddon someone or get rid of annoying permanents like Ghostly Prison. Personally, I see him being a beast if you drop him T3 and swing for T4 with Marchesa's Dethrone to set someone back two turns. Then if he isn't answered, that's three permanents on the turn after that.
Any thoughts or someone use him?
Another card I've been toying with the idea with is Falkenrath Exterminator. For 3 mana you can shoot, plus he rebuilds himself in case you're on the throne.
Out of frustration with the lack of card draw, I recently put in Dark Prophecy in my Marchesa.
PSA: Put Dark Prophecy in your decks.
Holy *****, the continual card draw and life loss means we're always attacking off of the Throne and never running out of gas. It also lets you run more ways to gain life, but I already use Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Whip of Erebos; Dark Prophecy feeds more into that. It's affordable, doesn't draw hate like Necropotence yet is as powerful without the drawbacks.

Thoughts? Very very high on the curve, but does damm near everything we want. Tutoring all day long. Taking us off the throne. Sac outlet. And brings the beef.
Though, might only find it's way into a budget/ casual build...
