Black Sun Zenith is terrible for this deck, don't add it. It ruins your recursion hard.
I did some reading up on the rules interaction there. It seems to work fine as long as you kill creatures w/ +1/+1 counters with the zenith in one shot.
The +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters cancel each other out as a state based effect. A creature with 0 toughness is also destroyed via a state based effect. When the creature dies, the trigger looks at the state immediately _before_ state based effects happen. At that time your creature has both +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters on it, because SBE's haven't happened yet. Ergo, recursion still happens. If you do it for less than lethal though, then it sucks.

That's interesting, I would have to see a ruling on it just to be sure. If you feel like you need another boardwipe with Living Death you can always run Damnation or Blasphemous Act. They are both really strong.

Played a few games last night. Villainous Wealth is insane in EDH and is incredibly bad against us. Made me realize if we get Marchesa stolen, and they have ways to put counters on her, we are pretty much out of the game. I was hit with a wealth, they hit my sower and unspeakable symbol, stole Marchesa, and I was pretty much out of the game.
Villainous Wealth seems incredibly powerful against a single person, and I know I will be the target of it when it's cast, so I need some extra ways to combat it. Any ideas?

If they steal her you can always just kill her and send her back to your command zone.
The problem wasn't that she was stolen, so much as the entire board of my creatures he got in addition to her. He hit a lot of big stuff, and a haste enabler, so I was pretty much screwed. I will say I did not even think about sending her back to the command zone because I pretty much just had to scoop.

This particular build revolves around mini-combos of recurring ETB effects with a sac outlet+Marchesa. To build on this theme I've put in cards that have an effect when something dies/enters the battlefield from death/enters the battlefield.
Cards I'm Considering To Put In Jokulhaups Win the game if it resolves and you have any sort of board + Marchesa. Helm of Possession Sac outlet and steal things. Urabrask the Hidden Haste to be more aggressive. Lyzolda, the Blood Witch Seems like a strong sac outlet. Lightning Greaves Protect things + give haste. Ashnod's Altar Another sac outlet. Was in the deck originally but I cut it for Phyrexian Altar. Rune-Scarred Demon Tutor for sneak attack/an answer. Would be in the deck but I don't have one yet. Venser, Shaper Savant Kinda good stuff, but can be recurred for disruption. Extremely versatile.
Cards I'm Considering To Cut Sensei's Divining Top Great card, but doesn't seem to fit in theme. Sword of Fire and Ice Again, great card, but kind of small and doesn't seem to fit in theme. Consecrated Sphinx One of the most powerful multiplayer cards but seems really good stuff.
I'd really appreciate it if I could get some feedback on this deck. Got a good deal of inspiration from Rune.

Jokulhaups it's auto-win if your board is better than anyone. Lyzolda is perfect, Tymaret too. Venser and Urabrask are good. I agree with the three options you gave to cut from your deck, even if the Sensei's is an option for more control style than aggressive.

Clever Impersonator was very underwhelming to me. Of course, it can make good plays, but it didn't make such impact as the other clones (recursion of Sakashima, low cost of Image / Metamorph, or multiple task of Dack's). Probably I will change it for another mass or target removal. Similar situation with Mer-Ek Nightblade, it's good on paper, could be extremely scarier, but by itself it's just a tapped 3/4 deathtouch for 3BB.
What you thoughts on Flesh-Eater Imp? 4cmc, 2 power, it's a sac outlet, didn't cause life loss to trigger dethrone to Marchesa, and can surprise the opponent if not removed. Yesterday, I needed to tutor for it to kill one player with Anafenza and Teysa 2.0 in play in one hit with it.
Steal from the graves, attack with them to get the +1/+1 then sac
Loss of life to get off the throne
with many Sac outlets you wont have to fret about his draw back.
Can get your own creatures back from your grave as well.
Sorry if this has been asked before but why do you keep the signets? Wouldn't you rather have chromatic Lantern or something bigger like gilded Lotus?
I'm just gonna jump in here and answer from my own experience with my version of the deck. Solrune's version, as well as my own, runs a lot of 4 cmc spells/creatures. In an aggressive deck, the Signets and Talismans not only help Grixis keep up with Green-based ramp, but they help you cast your 4 drops on turn 3. Chromatic Lantern is too expensive for this deck at 3 mana at too little a benefit, and Gilded Lotus doesn't really solve this problem either. In my opinion, if you want mana fixing / ramp over 2cmc for the deck, look no further than Coalition Relic, although I'd personally play Burnished Hart and Solemn Simulacrum over that.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
I will be updating my list and the changes I've made so far in the next few days, but here's what I know from testing.
Clever Impersonator has been awesome for me. I've slotted it in, and absolutely love it. It can be a second mana rock, sneak attack, or just anything. It is literally always the strongest thing on the board. ALWAYS the strongest thing on the board. I slotted it in over Sakashima's Student and haven't looked back. The ninjutsu was never relevant.
Mer-Ek Nightblade has been decent. With Flayer of the Hatebound and Mikaeus, me can machine gun creatures easily, but the main thing is that he makes trades really good in our favor. I'm going to continue testing him but it has not been bad.
Flesh-Eater Imp is not what I want to be running in the deck, I want big and wide swings, not an alpha through one creature. I've had no issues getting through 800 or so life in a game.
Chainer, Dementia Master I've thought about, but for an already tight list, I would much prefer Puppeteer Clique in this slot. Not only does it have immediate impact, it also pretty much wins the game with Sage of Fables or Mikaeus, and a sac outlet.
The signets and talismans are exactly what the deck needs to speed into our impact creatures at 4 mana, just like Dr Awesome explains. They are great for fixing and hitting a turn 3 with a turn 4 general is optimal.

I don't think it makes the cut unless you have lots of global haste effects. The fact that he needs to survive to your next upkeep to do his thing makes him quite vulnerable to removal, so you need to have Unspeakable Symbol / Marchesa / Mikaeus out to protect him. His effect is very powerful, but I'm not sure that it makes up for his fragility. Definitely worth playtesting though. The fact that you can find him with Imperial Recruiter is pretty sweet.

Man this deck looks really fun. What do you guys think about corpse dance with all of the sac outlets there are in this deck? And for a more budget option until I can get it what would a good replacement for Imperial Recruiter be?
Edit: didn't see demonic tutor in here so I think I'll put that in as a budget option. Also do you guys feel like there's enough card advantage early game?

I want to see how it works. I've been playing Looter Il-Kor and my GY always has an ETB i wouldnt mind abusing. Can also pull out Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker or other combo centric cards through ability instead of spells.
Also, I've been having enough luck with Grenzo Dungeon Warden. He hits a lot more than miss with such a high creature count. He earned his permanent slot when he started getting hit by cards like Beast Within It along with Goblin Flectomancer and Kiki have made Goblin Matron worth-while, but my deck is a little more budget than this.
Feldon of the Third Path should be incredibly broken in here, considering the deck can run cards like Kokusho, the Evening Star and it already runs a lot of haste enablers (Anger and Urabrask the Hidden). It also runs Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed and plenty of other cards that do something when entering the battlefield or dying. Even if Feldon of the Third Path is destroyed without him coming back, having him in the graveyard is still useful thanks to cards like Necrotic Ooze. I have no doubt that testing with Feldon of the Third Path in the deck will prove him to be a beast. May seem like win more, but I think he'll prove himself to be more than that.
EDIT:
By the way, have you considered Mana Crypt? It helps with dethrone if you're "unlucky" enough to get pinged by it during your upkeep. Besides, a free mana rock that provides 2 is nothing to scoff at ;).

Been building my deck up over the last week and really excited to see it start soon. Just missing the last few value cards (The one-eyed, spellskite, Marchesa, Fulminator mage, and a few others) but hopefully I can start playing it as soon as tommorrow.
Excited about testing out Feldon and dualcaster in this build too. They both seem like solid cards to include.

Thoughts on Flesh Carver and Reef Worm? I can see it being an incredibly beneficial sac outlet, or at least the first one with a mana cost I've considered playing since Shivan Harvest
Not sure if I will use Flesh Carver, due it's sac cost. It's very interesting, but in Duel it's a bit slow to make a good impact.
Reef Worm is fun, good against mass removal, two ways to tutor for it, I need to find a spot to test. And find some exile effects to fight it, my playgroup is blue heavy.
Flesh Carver seems pretty awesome to me. Self-recursive sac outlet that gives a bonus when it dies? Sign me up. It's also a wizard for Sage of Fables.
Speaking of Wizards, any thoughts on Voidmage Prodigy? A lot of the best cards in my deck happen to be wizards and this one has a serious benefit for sacrificing them. Double blue is kind of hard though. Seemed like an interesting one if nothing else. This new guy with Ghoulcaller Gisa might make a small Wizard synergy package with Vedalken Aethermage possible. Maybe not optimal but quite cool. You get access to Apprentice Necromancer which does actually seem like a pretty strong card for the deck.

Nice, so I guess that with a sac outlet in play, Living Death + Dualcaster Mage = infinite creature death and return from grave. Nice!

Reef Worm is fun, good against mass removal, two ways to tutor for it, I need to find a spot to test. And find some exile effects to fight it, my playgroup is blue heavy.

Legacy|4fun|4fun|Modern|Frontier|StandardSpeaking of Wizards, any thoughts on Voidmage Prodigy? A lot of the best cards in my deck happen to be wizards and this one has a serious benefit for sacrificing them. Double blue is kind of hard though. Seemed like an interesting one if nothing else. This new guy with Ghoulcaller Gisa might make a small Wizard synergy package with Vedalken Aethermage possible. Maybe not optimal but quite cool. You get access to Apprentice Necromancer which does actually seem like a pretty strong card for the deck.
