Just be careful. Just like original Yawgmoth's Will, any creature deaths on your side will be put into exile instead.
True. But Yawgmoth's will is still arguably the most broken, OP thing you can put in your deck in this entire format. I've resisted the urge so far simply because its basically just goodstuff, doesn't really fit with marchesa at all. But now that its on a stick (a wizard too!) I think we've at least gotta test it. I mean the power level of yawg's will is simply insane. It still boggles my mind that Prophet of Kruphix got the boot but yawg's will remains legal.
It is indeed a very good card. Nonetheless, it is still a little bit overrated in "fair" decks because you can generally get around 2-3 things at most.
That being said, if you are built around it well enough or have a low enough curve, it is still very good. Especially considering that getting anything out of your GY is probably out-of-color for black these days. Also, being able to play your land drop off of the GY helps too.

Lately I've been getting obsessed with adding Stax to my decks as a means to make people stop screwing with my permanents. I build a Brago, King Eternal deck and those guys are a shoe-in because of how often you can put them back into play. You know who else does? Marchesa! Granted, it wouldn't be as often as Ghost King but we are looping these guys regularly enough that they're probably eating permanents and gaining us advantage.
Also, they're all Pirates for Riptide Shapeshifter. Though, to be honest, I'm thinking of cutting him. If my opponents let me assemble my guys under their nose with them, I've probably already won the game.
It has additional applications in being able to sacrifice and reset the creature type to something else if you want to loop an etb/death trigger every turn via an infinite sacrifice outlet.
As for me, they can kill it, and I'll have a billion ways of getting it back. Simply amazing.

Personally, I think the Rishadan pirates are a bit too unreliable. I also play a Brago, King Eternal stax deck and I also don't run them in there anymore. Might be my meta, but later in the game, too often people ended up simply paying or saccing a token or something. They do, on the other hand, generate a lot of hate because they're annoying (something I'm used to when playing Brago, but do not particularly want with Marchesa..). Therefore I never considered them for my Marchesa list. They are decent cards, there are just better choices in my opinion.
About Riptide Shapeshifter; looks too slow being a 5UUUU semi-random tutor spell. In most scenario's I would play Diabolic tutor before him, especially since my average cmc is 3.58.

Haha excellent point. Yea this guy is bonkers, definitely goes straight in.
I like the keyword revolt too. I'm hoping they print someone good because marchesa is primed to abuse it. We sac guys all the time and they can trigger their own revolt abilities on ETB. We'll see what we get though, nothing so far is worth a spot.
Always welcome more sac outlets, Marchesa needs them to be dominant. I like the cmc, haste of all things the indestructible clause reminds me ofFalkenrath Aristocrat. Too good not to pass up.

Seems awesome in opening hand too, name wizard, sac it off to change it out to what you need. Also allows the Sage to start entering with a counter a little more reliably, since we can't clone it unless it's already in, I recall there be a few loops to jump through to ensure that, I could be wrong. If so, I could see using those two to hold out against the few things I couldn't against stall decks
Yea, the two are shoe ins for sure, the idea of cloning the mimic to cover our entire board sounds fantastic
Yea but what the heck do we cut?
I guess we could cut Chasm Skulker for Yahenni, Undying Partisan. I'm not happy about it, Chasm skulker is awesome. But at this point everything in this deck is awesome so that's just reality. Skulker is basically just value. He generates his own +1/+1 counters and is a pain for opponents to get rid of since he makes an obnoxious army if you don't exile him. Yahenni can also generate his own counters, can get one faster then skulker due to haste, has additional utility due to his sac ability, and is also a pain to get rid of due to indestructibility if you don't exile him. Plus they have the same CMC.
So yea I think this swap makes sense, could give it a shot. And I agree with @daanzel on Grenzo, Havoc Raiser for Metallic Mimic. He sounded good in theory but I feel like he's fallen flat whenever I've played him. I like the mimic a lot more.

I was never sold on Grenzo in the first place. Both versions seem a bit unfocused relative to what they do. And the later version being an RR two drop didn't help matters.
I might find space for Yaheeni, but I have to build differently from the rest of you because of the hybrid build and the lower creature count that results from it. Nonetheless, I like this one a lot more than most other sacrifice outlets because of its overall durability. Dammit.. I want a additional sac outlet, a manarock, and a sweeper, but can't fit them all!
Speaking of artifacts, something that just surprised me is that the OP list doesn't run Skullclamp. I wonder what made you cut that card?
Skyship Bandit looks like a potential pick for Marchesa. 2/1 Flyer that doubles any number of counters when it hits a player (but no, we can't call that Proliferate) for 1U.
I was looking to lower my curve by adding cheap creatures so that Marchesa does come down, I've got bodies getting +1/+1s.
It might be a better Thrumming Bird, but I've seen other translations that say it's "target creature or player" not "any number" like Proliferate. We'll have to wait for the English version.
The Ballista is an XX mana cost artifact creature that comes into play with X +1/+1 counters which it can remove to deal 1 damage. With Mike, that's remove a counter to ping, it does as a State-Based Effect and comes back from Undying with a +1/+1 counter. Shoot the board.
If you've got an Infinite mana combo, you can use its activated ability of Pay 4 to put a +1/+1 counter on it to shoot everybody in the face.
Also, since it is an XX cost that makes its CMC 0 so that Trinket Mage can search for it up.

This appears to be a very silly card.
It doesn't quite work with Mikaeus unless you have a sac-outlet. Mike gives +1/+1, and the traditional Mike-Trike combo involves shooting Triskelion to deal 1 to itself and then shooting something else with the other counters. This only has 1 counter on it after undying, so it can't shoot itself and something else.
Right, it's weird how often that +1/+1 tends to be more of a drawback than an advantage.
Hell, I forget the fact that Humans that deal damage to me die half of the time. They made Mike with too much goodness.
Yeah, you need an sac outlet to make it work. However, on the plus-side, it is VERY easy to fetch with all kinds of artifact tutors. Not even just Trinket Mage, but Whir of Invention and Tezzeret the Seeker and Transmute Artifact for 0 also get this (even Artificer's Intuition and Reshape if people want to go deep with this). This makes it arguably better than Triskelion as you won't need to burn nearly as much mana to get both of them out in the same turn.
Outside of the combo..... I'd probably just pay 3 and clamp it and call it a day.

Very nice! I guess that will replace Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, fun card but lacks synergy and was never really useful.

Perhaps because, you know, it's not even remotely Proliferate though this does seem to be a trendy sort of complaint of late.
Is that not the *exact* wording of Proliferate??
I'm a big fan of Yahenni and Metallic Mimic, will definitely be going in my deck (when built).
As for Grenzo, has anyone felt that he actually put in work for their deck? He always seemed underwhelming when I tried him.
