love this list. working on one similar. My playgroup is probably too sensitive for the Yosei lock. planning on abusing stonehorn dignitary in a similar fashion though.
Really impressive-looking list you have here. There are a lot of awesome interactions going on, and it's nice to see one of the "weaker" colors in the format getting some attention.
@Emeria Shepherd: can't wait to cast this card. Ordered a foil one online as soon as I read about it here. Probably need to include at least one or two fetch-lands for a few more landfall triggers. Even just something as simple as Terramorphic Expanse or Evolving Wilds would allow you to fetch out every Plains in the deck with this card.
One card I've been using a lot more lately in any white deck is Act of Authority. Another Return to Dust effect that synergizes with your enchantment theme, plus it's small enough for Sun Titan to bring it back. I've never even needed to use the last clause in a game before.
I will be placing Emeria Shepherd in the deck absolutely. What about the new X costing Oblivion Ring or the Flash creature oblivion ring? Do they have a place here? I just bought the entire deck and have it, but I haven't played it yet. I used the list on the first page.
Hello,
first of all I want to say thank you for this great list, it's a ton of fun to play!
I am new to EDH commander and I find this format very interesting and less boring than Legacy that I have been playing for years.
I play only in duel commander and I play with the French rules where Sensei's Divining Top, Strip Mine and Sol Ring are banned. Could you please suggest some alternate solutions to replace those cards??? Obviously the replacement cards won't be as good, but anyway...
And sorry for my bad English!
I'm glad that you like the list.
Yes, Commander is the most interesting format due to the immense card pool from which you can build from.

Thanks. Yes, the Yosei Lock can make people get a little "Butthurt" due to the helpless state your opponents find themselves in.
Yeah, Stonehorn Dignitary is very good for a "no attack phase" soft lock, and is far less obnoxious than Yosei.

Thanks, Mono-White can be pretty devious.
Yeah, This deck is all about the little/big interactions of different cards and abusing them to their utmost to achieve favorable boardstates.
Emeria Shepherd also works extremely well with Kor Cartographer / Solemn Simulacrum + a Sac outlet as well, letting you get all the plains into play with some additional impressive draw power off of the Simulacrum.
Sword of the Animist is really good in this deck, and has lately taken the place of Crucible of Worlds in most of my games since it's release. I usually equip it to a Cleric Token. The ramp effect is so subtle that the Sword usually flies under peoples radar in terms of threat level.
Yes, Act of Authority is a very good card, although I've never employed it, I may try it out one day.

Yes, Emeria Shepherd is an auto-include in Mono-White EDH at this point, the card opens up a whole new realm of interactions/abusiveness.
Quarantine Field is interesting, a powerful effect, can be abused with recursion. With mana-doublers and lot's of land in play I can see this card being a blowout in the right situations. Give it a shot.
I didn't see Rings of Brighthearth in the list, it may be a useful inclusion in the deck.
Rings doubles your ramp effects, and turns any fetch land into ramp (which also work well with that crucible you have in). It will also generate infinite mana with Deserted Temple and one of your big mana lands.
Nice deck TEMUJIN, I'll netdeck it!
Already ordered all the missing cards.
As bobthefunny said, why no Rings of brighthearth? I understand the part regarding fetch is not too relevant as we do not run any, but it could work with a basalt monolith to create infinite mana, it do work with Heliod and deserted temple.
All in all, great deck!
As for Rings of Brighthearth it's a card which was given much thought when this deck was first created. After many games, I've come to the conclusion that it was not needed, the deck runs perfectly fine without it, I've never looked back. Fell free to run it in your builds though.
Great guide TEMUJIN, I built my own Heliod deck based off of your list and it's been such a great joy to play that its basically all I play now.
I was wondering though if anyone knows of any good card that could abuse a similar interaction between the exile target effects that we have (Skybind, Oblivion Ring, etc) with cards that put the "temporary" exiled cards into their owners graveyards (Pull from Eternity, Blight Herder, Ruin Processor, and the rest of the new Eldrazi's). I know that there are a lot of ways to bring stuff back into play from the graveyard in the format but sometimes I'd rather have their stuff removed permanently than allowing it back into play.

Sundial of the Infinite would work for when I have Skybind out, but would not help with the cards exiled with O-Ring. I've been looking and I don't think there is any card out there that would allow me to repeatedly get rid of cards that are under O-Ring. I might just have to test out the Eldrazi's in BFZ and be selective on how I use this interaction. Thanks for the suggestion on Sundial!
Well, it can still be useful in lists. I'd love to have an indestructible sun titan, it's just that the comment seemed a bit off on Heliod specifically.
Well, you were right, i was thinking about Heliod...
I face a lot of combo in my meta. I'm thinking of using worship and ghostly prison to repeat sphere of safety effect. Magus of the disk seem a good reccurable wrath effect and grasp is just better than ring in multiplayer game.

But since Heliod gives all other creatures vigilance, why not playing Dolmen gate?
Even worth to attack when just 1 can pass through the opponents defense.

But since Heliod gives all other creatures vigilance, why not playing Dolmen gate?
Even worth to attack when just 1 can pass through the opponents defense.
Recon is simply a better card offensively, you can pull back all the blocked tokens (minor case of killing off blocking tokens as a difference), but also acts as a vigilance enabler if Heliod gets removed, plus it gives Heliod vigilance. (Remove from combat after damage is dealt).
Runetail does the same thing as Dolmen gate, but works at all times, allowing it to be a massive defensive option, as well as protecting from blasphemous act.
Glory works for this purpose as well, can get guys through for damage, and also works defensively on top of all that.
Valor is also a good defensive card, since you can pile on 2/1 first strikers to kill things off.
Replenish is house. Run it instead of one of those not so great return enchantment creatures. You won't look back. Stoneforge Mystic is great if you are running Sword of the Animist alongside Skullclamp as some people have mentioned that they are doing (I do as well.). Aven Mindcensor stops people finding enchantment removal and other annoyances. Avacyn, Angel of Hope is good as always. I think making your enchantments and Serra's Sanctum indestructible is worth the casting cost.
If you run Avacyn, Angel of Hope, switch out Hallowed Burial or whatever other card you want for a Catastrophe so you can do some one-sided MLD. Grasp of Fate as mentioned up thread has been solid in my testing.
Love your list. Would you consider Mana Crypt now that it's more readily available? Also, would having nonsnow Plains be a big problem?
Thank You. Although the deck ramps quite well, run Mana Crypt if you like. Just keep in mind that this is not a quick rush deck in any way shape or form. Running non-snow Plains is fine, though with Extraplanar Lens in play you may benefit other players and that is is ill advised.
I really like this decks approach! I'm trying to build a deck for each color and couldn't find a mono-white commander that suits my playstyle until now. Have you tried using a Stax package or some planeswalkers to generate even more controlling momentum?
Now I have to trade for a Serras Sanctum...
Thank You. With this deck I would advise against a Stax package. Stay focused on grinding and control. I assure you that Planeswalkers are not needed here, but try them if you like them. Serra's Sanctum is particularly good in this deck for obvious reasons, get one.

For French rules Duel Commander, give Crystal Ball, Rishadan Port, and Everflowing Chalice a try.

Finally, it also gives a discount to Heliod.

Grasp of fate certainly deserve a place.
shielded by faith to protect Heliod?
Oreskos explorer maybe?
also, do you think of magus of the disk?
In fact, in my current list I actually try to prevent him from becoming a creature, that way he's harder to remove.

I was brainstorming some ideas....
Have you tried Ajani's Chosen. Seems like it would combo well with Heliod's clerics
Do you feel like more aura tutors might make the deck more consistent? Such as Heliod's Pilgrim/Open the Armory/Auratouched Mage/Plea for Guidance
Would Parallax Wave help to retrigger ETB effects for your own creatures? Could it be an awesome remover too with instant speed sac like Claws of Gix?
Should I look into Sigil of the Empty Throne/Mesa Enchantress/Kor Spiritdancer effects?
If so, are Conviction/Flickering Ward/Spirit Loop/Brilliant Halo worth considering?
Have you tried Cathars' Crusade? Looks like it would be nuts with cleric tokens.
Also any/all the Elspeth's?Elspeth Tirel/Elspeth, Knight-Errant/Elspeth, Sun's Champion
Do you think Pearl Medallion is worth considering?
