I started looking at deck statistics to get ideas of other cards played. I found that Anger is in quite a few. To a lesser extent Filth...and a very few amount Wonder.
Hi there! I've definitely considered Anger before. He's a solid addition, especially considering a lot of our cards go to the grave, where he is the most powerful. However, in practice I have not found haste to be required for the deck. It's helpful, but I think other choices are stronger. Filth is decent, but I prefer Zombie Master for multiple reasons, and I do not feel I need the redundancy. Wonder is always in consideration when I make blue decks, and flying is a weakness of the deck, but again, I feel I can keep opponents on their toes even easier with my current build.
I don't recall ever seeing Corpse Harvester, he seems pretty good! At 5cmc, he's competing with the likes of Sidisi, Undead Vizier and Havengul Lich, but I think in playing the long game he'd be really good. If you include him, please let me know what you think! Great find.
I'm not greatly impressed with the decklist you linked. While there are some great additions, like Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, I really think he missed the mark in terms of creature selection. My very first ideas for the deck included recurring creatures like Nether Shadow and Ashen Ghoul, but I quickly realized that these creatures simply do not pack enough of a punch in EDH to be included in my list. Also, I realized that if the deck plays out naturally, you do not necessarily need self-recurring creatures, since you should usually have tokens, or in the worst-case scenario, your dudes you sacrifice should be easily recurrable. While this list is dated and that could be some reason for the poor creature choice, I would not put much stock into that list.
I've been testing Mirage Mirror in some of my other decks, and it has been really good. I'm not positive that this deck wants it, but I should probably test it. Maybe I'll test it in place of some spot removal, maybe Dreadbore.
Also, I'm considering testing Aetherworks Marvel in place of Insidious Dreams. While I really like Insidious Dreams, I think we could get a lot of use out of the Marvel, considering all the permanents that hit the yard.

I figured that you'd like the god in there over the sword. The sword is powerful (though SofFandF is even more so) but it didn't do quite enough. Mainly the whole no trample part lol
Putting the deamon in for the other tutor is very much a better slot then I suggested. *tips hat off to you, slides you a shot of my firewater* Though.. You know, one day you'll likely have to start taking a look at the lords and start cutting them for better ones. Power creep is a ***** lol. At least with my Wort deck, it's likely that I'm just missing cards from sets that I wasn't around for lol.
The mirror is... Commander staple already. There are very few decks that wouldn't get use out of it. I don't have a better suggestion for a slot for it now... But I don't think that you should really be so quick to give up spot removal for the slot. But in most of my decks I tend to run a bit more spot removal then most, so it's likely just me.
Instead of 'Dreams, run either the Marvel or Jar of Eyeballs. Both of them break games for you. The Jar is a bit safer at the moment cause of the rep that Marvel got lately (I ONLY play commander and even I've heard some of the trouble Marvel caused).. Or run both, though I'd understand if you don't want the Jar.
I'm not very impressed with Jar of Eyeballs, tbh. Have you had a lot of experience with it? On paper it does not impress me, but I have been dead wrong about cards before.

I've been in the same boat. But yeah. I run it in my stax version of Teysa, Orzhov Scion, and it has never let me down. Almost every other turn, I'm able to tutor for any kind of effect that I want at the time. Though, a good part of that is my fondness of packing an overabundance of cards that have the same effect (or close enough). So, yeah. grabbing a card out of the top 12-16 cards is effectively a tutor for me. And being able to do so every other turn is just gravy.
I will say that it IS a build around me card. Any deck that is planning on making good use out of it should be expecting to lose 2-4 creatures a turn. Every turn. But if that's what the deck does anyhoo, it should be run. It's also somewhat ok wrath protection in a way. You have it out. Someone nukes the board. You get a tutor for whatever you want to start recovering.
Or I could be wrong and it's just a pet card for me. But I at first didn't like it until I tried it out, so you might want to as well. It isn't as broken as Marvel, but it doesn't have as huge of a target on it's head either. But most things don't have as huge of a target as Marvel lol
It's true Jar of Eyeballs would be less of a target, but with how experienced my local players are, they know each of my decks and what they're capable of. If they feel my deck is a threat to their game plan, they're going to react, whether I'm using a well-known tutor engine or one that's less infamous.

Then just go ahead and use Marvel. It is the better choice after all
Below is a list of NEW cards spoiled in the upcoming Commander 2017 product that I think at least warrant a mention in terms of putting them into this deck. I'm excited, as this set is tribal-oriented and this deck is zombie-oriented. I'd love to hear your thoughts on them, or anything else you think I've missed!
Kindred Discovery: This card is getting talked about a lot, and I can understand why. This will be a massive source of card advantage for the deck, especially seeing as it triggers on attack AND etb! I really want to find a spot to try this card.
Kindred Charge: This could possibly set up an alpha strike in the late game, or let us close out the game against multiple opponents. Unfortunately, I don't think this style of card fits with this deck well, and I do not plan on testing it.
Mairsil, the Pretender: If he were a zombie wizard, I'd consider adding him. As printed, I think the effect is too clunky for this deck. We have a few creatures with really powerful activated abilities, like Havengul Lich, Geth, Lord of the Vault, and Coffin Queen, but I don't think that justifies the card.
Taigam, Sidisi's Hand: This guy will fill up our graveyard pretty fast, and is a source of incremental card advantage, which is great. However, because we skip the draw step, he's actually card-neutral. For being 5 cmc, non-zombie, and does nothing the turn he enters, I cannot justify playing him in this deck.
Boneyard Scourge: I got excited when I saw a flying zombie with built-in recursion, until I saw that the built-in recursion is not something I'll be able to except with one other card in the deck (Kokusho, the Evening Star).
Kindred Dominance: Well this is a pretty cool board wipe. Naming zombies makes this almost entirely one-sided. I love my Damnation, and it is really good in the 4 cmc slot, but if I were to test this card, I'd do it in that slot.
Vindictive Lich: This guy seems cool! In a 4-player match, which I play most often, this guy will be a beating. Unfortunately, 4cmc is a pretty steep price, even for his abilities, because I also need to be able to sacrifice him. In a loop, this guy would be brutal, but I already have other cards that are lethal in a loop (Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Blood Artist, Fleshbag Marauder), so this is a hard sell. He might be worth testing out.
Herald's Horn: Cool card! I'm having some trouble evaluating it in a vacuum, so I might end up testing it. It's a cost reducer, and I've noticed via Undead Warchief that cost reducers are great for this deck. It also will let us draw extra cards in the form of zombies. It's really powerful, and would compete for a slot with Phrexian Arena, what do you think? The Arena guarantees me a card every turn, and adds to my devotion; the Horn gives me the cost reduction but won't guarantee me a card per turn.
Path of Ancestry: This is a no-brainer inclusion. I do not care one bit that it comes into play tapped. It gives us all our colors, and we will end up with a lot of scry off the ability.
I have been following this thread for a while now and I am wondering how often do you play your commander and what creatures do you normally sacrifice?
I probably play my commander in 75% of my games. Unfortunately there are games where I do not get out Torpor Orb and my creatures get killed quickly, so I do not have a way to cast my commander.
In terms of the creatures I sacrifice, it's probably easier to list creatures that I generally don't sacrifice: Havengul Lich, Gisa and Geralf, or others that will recur. I often pitch tokens or dudes 3cmc or less.

Thanks for the updates. Building this guy now. Keep us posted if you are playing him still.
Yup, always playing him, he's my favorite EDH deck. With C17 and upcoming Ixalan and Iconic Masters I might be playing the deck a little less in favor of precon battles, prerelease, and draft, but this deck is always being played. I'll do an ixalan review this week.

Have you tested swapping in the horn for Phyrexian Arena? I think that would be a good swap.
I've definitelyl thought about testing Herald's Horn for Phyrexian Arena, but haven't yet tested it. My concern is that I only have 25 creatures currently in the deck, so the draw is not where I'd like it to be. And the cost reducer is huge - but again, only affects 25 cards in my deck. I think I'll test it in the coming weeks, but if anyone else has any experience with horn, I'm really interested in hearing it.

I have seen Herald's Horn do well with deck manipulation --- as in Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top.
But yes, it is mainly there for the reduction with drawing being a slight benefit. In most cases, pure draw is better.

With on fourth of your deck working with Herald's Horn, I wouldn't count it out. If anything, it can reduce the cost of Lord of Tresserhorn. Spell reduction is clutch in a UBR deck. Even though black can produce mana explosions, it lacks enough tools for epic ramp. Any little bit counts.
The reason I feel that Phyrexian Arena is a good swap is that Phyrexian Arena doesn't do anything when it enters the battlefield (like Herald's Horn). However, Phyrexian Arena is only useful during upkeep whereas Herald's Horn is useful all throughout. Herald's Horn also nullifies Havengul Lich's activated ability's cost. They even have the same converted mana cost.

Ixalan is now completely spoiled. Below is a list of NEW cards that I think warrant discussion regarding whether they could earn a spot in this deck. Let me know your thoughts!
I tested Herald's Horn and Vanquisher's Banner and liked the horn more than the banner. However, I am having trouble finding a card to replace for the horn. I like Kirby's suggestion of Phyrexian Arena, but that devotion is nice for Grey Merchant of Asphodel and Erebos, God of the Dead. I don't think those two corner cases are enough to save arena, but I suppose I'm just dragging my feet on what else to take out. I'll likely make the cut soon for arena out, horn in.

Go to 40 lands? solves both issues: can fit in Herald's Horn and a slightly better chance to hit(?). Banner seems over-costed for card draw. Gary is too good to lose value on.
11/3/17:
+Herald's Horn
-Swamp
Why: Herald's Horn seems like it will be very impressive in this deck. With the cost reduction effect, we can churn out our zombies more quickly, which means taking chunks out of our opponents' life totals more quickly. The situational card draw is icing on the cake.
Probably a bit early for Rivals of Ixalan review, since only a few cards have been spoiled, but one of them is The Immortal Sun. A solid role player, and can randomly hose out certain strategies (walker-centric lists). I think I only run one planeswalker at the time, so the risk of that affecting me is minimal. The cost reducer, the creature pump, and the card draw are all welcome and useful in this list. I already run (or am testing) cheaper cards that do only one of these things (Phyrexian Arena, Liliana's Mastery, Herald's Horn), but this does them all, and does them better. But it's a 6-drop, so will it be coming down too late to matter? Hard card to evaluate in a vacuum, but those abilities are all powerful, so there's no doubt this will be a powerful card that is worth testing. Does it replace any of the other cards that fill a similar function?
Today (December 1, 2017), the Rules Committee (RC) announced that until January 15, 2018, most silver-bordered cards (from Un-sets) will be legal in commander. You can see the announcement here.
This is not a place to discuss if you agree or disagree with what the RC has done. Rather, I'd like some community help in finding some un-gems that will fit well with this deck. Aside from lands, I have very little experience playing with un-cards, as does the rest of my regular playgroup. While I expect some of them to be resistant to this change, I wanted to compile a list of potentially powerful cards that I could consider adding on a temporary basis.
Things I'd like to look for in suggested cards:
I do not want to play too "over the top" cards. I recognize this is very subjective. The best way I can think to illustrate it is this: I'd consider GO TO JAIL as a solid removal spell that is not too "over the top", while I'd consider Skull Saucer to be too "over the top" for consideration in my playgroup.
I know there are some really powerful un-cards. However, I'd be looking to use cards that fit with this deck's theme.
Has anyone already been testing the newest un-set? If so, how have contraptions been working for you?
Regarding un-cards, I should get the ball rolling.
Extremely Slow Zombie[/c]: A 2cmc 3/3 zombie is not bad, and the last strike is not very relevant. However, in my list, a vanilla zombie just doesn’t warrant a slot.
Grusilda, Monster Masher: An interesting creature. Gives equipped creatures menace, which can be relevant because we have a few pieces of equipment in our list. The activated ability, however, seems like it could be very powerful. It doesn’t specify YOUR graveyard, so we can steal opponents creatures, which both gives us big bodies but also prevents graveyard recursion by opponents.
I’ll have to take a look at the older un-sets later.
Found these at Metamox
Also, have you discussed Corpse Harvester? I know it's 5 CMC.... but a double tutor.
Allthough old --- Bernie has a list here

Melira PodRIP 1/19/15GWHatebearsI have seen Herald's Horn do well with deck manipulation --- as in Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top.
But yes, it is mainly there for the reduction with drawing being a slight benefit. In most cases, pure draw is better.
I buy HP and Damaged cards!
Only EDH:
Sigarda, Host of Herons: Enchantress' Enchantments
Jenara, Asura of War: ETB Value Town
Purphoros, God of the Forge: Global Punishment
Xenagos, God of Revels: Ramp, Sneak, & Heavy Hitters
Ghave, Guru of Spores: Dies_to_Doom_Blade's stax list
Edric, Spymaster of Trest: Donald's list

Melira PodRIP 1/19/15GWHatebearsGo to 40 lands? solves both issues: can fit in Herald's Horn and a slightly better chance to hit(?). Banner seems over-costed for card draw. Gary is too good to lose value on.

+Herald's Horn

Why: Herald's Horn seems like it will be very impressive in this deck. With the cost reduction effect, we can churn out our zombies more quickly, which means taking chunks out of our opponents' life totals more quickly. The situational card draw is icing on the cake.

Melira PodRIP 1/19/15GWHatebearsThis is not a place to discuss if you agree or disagree with what the RC has done.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
