Hi, any deck updates from the list in the main deck in the first post? thanks in advance.
Hi exiled! Nope, I try to keep the main lists updated. Sometimes I test out cards so my physical deck changes periodically, but I haven't found anything lately that will earn a spot in the deck. The closest was Angel of Condemnation, which is a good card but I just wasn't sold on it.
I tested Treasure Map, and it was simply too slow for this deck. I really like the card, and I pulled a prerelease promo one that is absolutely gorgeous, but getting to 3 counters on the map took a lot of mana investment and the payoff, while great, is just too hard in my meta. If I had a slower, more control-oriented build, OR if I actively used treasure tokens from other cards, I would more strongly consider the card. But for now, it just didn't work out.
Hi, I run a similar list to yours but with worse ramp (I use signets) and without expensive cards like Survival of the fittest. I've had some good games with it but I find half my games I just do nothing for most of the game. Sometimes I just get lots of land and nothing to do with it. Which cards do you find give you the consistency for the deck to do well most of the time? Have you considered putting in Growing Rites of Itlimoc? I tried it today but had it whiff because there's quite a lot of non creature spells in the deck. I might consider putting in Cloudblazer for more draw. The only times I've had explosive starts with this deck is when I've had Rhystic Study in my starting hand.

I have not considered Growing Rites of Itlimoc for this list, if only because I have a pretty low creature count (29 as of writing) and they do not tend to stick around long in my group. I think it would be a fine inclusion in a more creature-oriented build (my list tends to have a lot of removal and counter magic).
It's true, I sometimes have hands that feel like I "do nothing" a lot of the game. However, cards that really make this deck explode include card draw like Sylvan Library, Mulldrifter, Rhystic Study, Coiling Oracle, and Primer Speaker Zegana, along with filtering like Sensei's Divining Top, or tutors like Eladamri's Call. The great thing about the deck is that any of these cards should end up being a repeatable effect, whether from blinking them, recurring them, or from reusing them.
If you'd like, feel free to post your list and I'd be happy to give suggestions.
Yeah, Panharmonicon is amazing, make sure you keep it in your list. And while Avacyn and Abolisher are cool cards, I agree - they just don't have much synergy and can probably stay replaced or be replaced.
I definitely like Archaeomancer, and I wouldn't fault anyone for running it. However, I often tutor up Eternal Witness, and she has no restriction on the card type I get to bring back. Since she's lower on the curve and has less restrictions, I usually lean heavily on her ability and bounce or recur her often. Though if she gets exiled I suppose having some redundancy wouldn't hurt.
Edit: Your list looks good. I've really wanted to find a spot for Teferi's Protection, but because I only own one copy and it's in another deck, I haven't really had a chance to try it out nor try to find a spot for it. Have you gotten to use it much?
I haven't played with it much yet. I've managed to get it off once against an Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver ult so far. I can definitely see it being useful in the future because one of my friends plays a Jhoira deck which had plenty of board wipes that also hit lands.
Teferi's Protection is just a good answer, in white against mass removal. Great against Cyclonic Rift but unfortunately not very accessible. It's also super greasy to play Bane of Progress and respond by playing it, or just simply floating the mana, and casting Bane after the fact.
Yeah TP doesn't say you can't cast spells, or anything about mana draining from pools, so unless there's some outstanding rules I'm privy to, you can still cast on your turn with the floated mana. Also phasing doesn't ETB so if it phases out it doesn't activate again.
I've been having a rush of new decks in my meta that are graveyard-dependent. I'm considering adding Stonecloaker, but there are a lot of great choices for graveyard hate. Anyone else have a blinkable target they prefer to Stonecloaker for GY hate?
Anyone else have a blinkable target they prefer to Stonecloaker for GY hate?
I think the only other blinkable one worth running would be Angel of Finality. Although if the graveyard-dependent decks are going off at instant speed I'd stick to either Stonecloaker or Scavenging Ooze.
Hey Keto, I like your list! In terms of your maybeboard, I consider Aura Shards nearly mandatory in my meta. It's a repeatable source of removal that rewards you for playing the deck the way you've designed. The rest, while good, are probably not as important. I really like Guilded Drake, Duplicant, Glen Elendra Archmage, and Seedborn Muse, but those are all meta calls or playstyle choice, and most have alternatives that provide similar strength to your deck.
How have you liked Planar Guide? A creature that blinks your entire team is good, but since he self-exiles, it's a 1-shot effect. And at that price (5, the original 1 cmc plus 4 to activate) you have 1-shot alternatives that are cheaper in the form of spells. Worse, this also blinks the opponents' creatures, which can be a big drawback depending on the decks you are facing.
Aether Adept is a pretty good effect, but you might be happier with Man-o'-War, as it is less color-intensive. The only way I'd choose the Adept over him is if the Adept's creature types are relevant, which I didn't see while glancing at your list.
Your list has Fumigate, which is not bad, but how important is the life for you? I'd prefer Wrath of God at one less mana in case you are facing a fast deck, or Supreme Verdict, as the uncounterable is invaluable in multiplayer EDH.
I see you have Darksteel Mutation, which is a pretty good trick. Have you also considered Song of the Dryads? Similar concept, very powerful effect.
Today (December 1, 2017), the Rules Committee (RC) announced that until January 15, 2018, most silver-bordered cards (from Un-sets) will be legal in commander. You can see the announcement here.
This is not a place to discuss if you agree or disagree with what the RC has done. Rather, I'd like some community help in finding some un-gems that will fit well with this deck. Aside from lands, I have very little experience playing with un-cards, as does the rest of my regular playgroup. While I expect some of them to be resistant to this change, I wanted to compile a list of potentially powerful cards that I could consider adding on a temporary basis.
Things I'd like to look for in suggested cards:
I do not want to play too "over the top" cards. I recognize this is very subjective. The best way I can think to illustrate it is this: I'd consider GO TO JAIL as a solid removal spell that is not too "over the top", while I'd consider Skull Saucer to be too "over the top" for consideration in my playgroup.
I know there are some really powerful un-cards. However, I'd be looking to use cards that fit with this deck's theme.
Has anyone already been testing the newest un-set? If so, how have contraptions been working for you?
Alright, last post was kind of lazy, in that I’m seeking specific un-advice for a specific deck, and most readers of this thread have not likely had experience with many un-cards.
Ineffable Blessing seems like it would be really good in the deck. I’d have to pay more attention to whether my creatures have flavor text, but this should be a great engine for card draw, assuming my deck does what it is supposed to do (blink creatures).
Edit: I did not see any Unhinged cards that were worth playing in this list.
I did not see any Unglued cards that were worth playing in this list.

I think Joyride Rigger would be the only one of those I'd run unless you add in ways to easily spit out artifacts such as Cultivator of Blades. Ineffable Blessing would be great as long as you keep in mind it's not a 'may' effect!
Oh, stealing someone's untap phase with Clocknapper seems perfect for this deck!
I agree, Joyride Rigger is the best of those options, followed maybe by First Pick. Neither of which convince me to use contraptions.
Regarding Clocknapper, I wonder if "beginning phase" includes untap and/or draw? If so, this would be incredibly powerful...so powerful that I suspect it won't work. Otherwise, I could untap Roon of the Hidden Realm and land, and steal everyone else's uptap steps. I must be wrong, right?
Rivals of Ixalan is fully spoiled! Below is a list of cards I think deserve discussion regarding this list. Let me know what you think or if I missed anything.
Path of Discovery: This is good in that we will get to trigger it often, and explore is pretty strong. However, without this being straight card draw, I don't think it's powerful enough.
Azor, the Lawbringer: Yup, this guy is really really good for this deck. He's card draw, he's control, and he's a big evasive beat stick, all wrapped up into one. He (she? it?) is definitely going into this list.
Huatli, Radiant Champion: This card is going to be strong. Unfortunately my list is not set so that I have a lot of creatures out, so I probably will not use this, but in more creature-heavy builds this guy will be great.
The Immortal Sun: This card is really powerful. Since the creature anthem is only marginally helpful in this deck, I likely will not add it, but it would be a solid addition to any list.
Hey Outcryqq, what do you think of search for azcanta? About a third of my deck can be hit with the flipped side and I play a few more counterspells than your list so i find myself leaving up mana a lot of the time. I've also been pretty happy with Thrasios, Triton Hero for this exact reason.
Riverside Augur: maybe a bit meh for that cost (in my opinion the best draw effects are Coiling Oracle and Sea Gate Oracle), but blinking it is value, especially if you have doubling effects like panharmonicon. I mean, it's brainstorm!
disperse in the wind i love this spell because it can be used in an offensive/disruptive, defensive and value way. In my opinion it is a 10/10, perfect for this deck. The card can: blink a permanent and decide when it re-enters (so you can get value by retriggering mystic snake on a spell, but you can also save a permanent from a wrath and recast it when the tides are quieter), or it can remove temporarily a permanent (especially useful against counter-based permanents, like genesis hydra or chalice of the void)
Baffling end: i think it's fun for politics reasons, but i think that darksteel mutation is still one of the best commander removals ever printed.
Hi ketoglutarate: Riverwise Augur is decent, but that 4 mana is pretty rough compared to other options. Everything in the list goes nuts with Panharmonicon, and unfortunately this guy is slightly overcosted for me to consider.
Release to the Wind is a good card. Unfortunately in my previous testing I was not happy with 1-shot blink effects like Ghostway and Momentary Blink. I really like that you can use it offensively and defensively, but I don't think I have room for it in my list. What would you cut for it?
Baffling End is kind of cute, but that's about it. It's a limited removal spell that has no particular synergy with my deck. This spell would unfortunately compete with too many other high-quality removal spells like Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile.

I really like Search for Azcanta as a card, and I've toyed with it in other decks. I haven't really considered it in my list, mostly because I like my spells to be stapled onto creatures. However, this card really has a low opportunity cost to run, so I wouldn't fault someone for playing with it. Let me know if you test it in a Roon list!
Hi all, the full Dominaria list has been spoiled. I think the set looks like a lot of fun, and has a lot of potentially powerful cards across many formats. Here is a list of cards I think at least warrant a discussion in this deck. As always, please feel free to discuss these cards, or let me know if I missed any!
Karn, Scion of Urza: One of the big hype cards of the set. Planeswalkers haven't fared well in this deck, unless their abilities are directly on theme with the deck (Venser, the Sojourner), but they are always fun to look at. This guy is a really good card, and will be a solid draw engine for a lot of decks. However, in this deck, we have better card draw, especially since Karn will need to survive for you to get some serious gas out of him. Fun card, but will not earn a spot in this deck.
Daring Archaeologist: His ETB ability is good, and he has the chance to get big, but the counters do not lend well to bouncing this guy for his ETB ability. I think I'll pass and stick to less-restrictive recursion like Eternal Witness.
Dauntless Bodyguard: Neat card, and bouncing him will allow you to reset who he protects. However, most of our creatures can be protected by threatening to bounce them, so this just doesn't quite make the cut.
Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle: This this card does not have an ETB trigger, the on-cast trigger is impressive, especially since our deck has a lot of very powerful creatures that could be recurred with the ability. With all the historic triggers in the set, I probably need to see what % of the deck would trigger historic. (pause) 17. Not nearly enough to be relevant, but might be better in other versions of the deck, like equipment-heavy versions.
The Mirari Conjecture: This card is really cool. This version is more control/spell oriented, so this could fit, though I don't think it will. I might test it out.
Sentinel of the Pearl Trident: This effect can be powerful, but my list would not be able to take advantage of it effectively. I could see it being very effective in untapping artifacts like Mana Vault or Grim Monolith, or saving equipment or other powerful artifacts or planeswalkers from removal.
Grow from the Ashes: Neat ramp spell. I think we're better off relying upon ETB ramp like Wood Elves or Farhaven Elf, but this is potentially powerful considering the lands come into play untapped.
Oath of Teferi: Very powerful ability, and the ETB ability is certainly on theme in this deck. However, this list only runs one walker, so I don't think this is worth a card slot. Other versions that focus more on walkers might value this card higher.
Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage: Very strong ability, but like I said before, only 17 cards in the deck are historic so I don't think this is worth a card slot in the deck.
Teferi, Hero of Dominaria: Good planeswalker. Hard to justify the slot, since walkers do not live long in my meta, but he can double as consistent card draw OR removal in a pinch. If I were more focused on walkers, this would get tested.
Teferi, Timebender: Mediocre card draw. The plus ability could be useful to use Roon twice, but I don't think his 6 CMC is worth it.
Tatyova, Benthic Druid: Very powerful card draw, but it's a shame that she starts at 5 CMC. At that point, I don't think we'll be hitting enough triggers to justify running it over another ETB-based card draw slot, like Mulldrifter.
Helm of the Host: This is an incredibly powerful card, and the ability would be great in this deck. This will give us extra ETB triggers each combat AND leave bodies around to attack/block. The high CMC/equip is hurting this card, but I will likely test it.
Really like your list. I wonder if the one on the opening post is your current build. I´m getting the cards for the deck and I´d love to see your latest card choices.

Hi manugl84, thanks! Yes, the list in the original post (OP) is very close to my current build, though I'm testing (or have tested) some other cards, so at any given time I have about 3 slots that are different. The only card that is definitely in that is not in the OP is Azor, the Lawbringer, who is both AMAZING for the deck, but also pretty cheap right now (under $2).
hi! i've been trying to lower the curve of the deck a bit more. could you tell me where should I go, starting from the list linked before??
Sure, I'm happy to make some suggestions. Do you have a particular budget or do you have a large collection?
Fumigate: I'd replace this with either Wrath of God, which costs one less and prevents regeneration, or with Supreme Verdict, which is one less mana cost and uncounterable. For the times you need a wrath, I'd prefer those benefits(one less mana and another bonus) to life gain and one more mana. The lifegain is nice for Fumigate, but not worth the trade off in my opinion.
Quicksilver Fountain: If you're looking to speed up your list, this does the opposite. It's incredibly slow, and the payoff is also weak. I'd replace it with something to speed up your game plan, maybe a signet or Fellwar Stone.
Altered Ego is a neat card, but I'd play Phyrexian Metamorph instead. You can pay the phyrexian mana to cast it a turn early, and you can copy more targets, so I consider it more versatile.
Craterhoof Behemoth: If you want to lower your curve, I'd start here. You don't play any major token generators, so I assume your plan is to just buff a couple of your low-CMC value dudes. If that's the point of the 'hoof, then I'd replace him with Kamahl, Fist of Krosa, who can both buff your team, but also can act as targeted LD by using his ability on opponents' lands and then casting a wrath. This would also serve a similar purpose to why you included something like Quicksilver Fountain.
Thragtusk: I love this card, and played the heck out of it when it was in standard. But at the end of the day, it's a 5CMC spell that puts some power on board. I consider the lifegain irrelevant in more competitive EDH metas. If you need to further lower your curve, I'd cut this in favor of something like Gilded Drake, which lets you steal opponents' beef and blink the drake back to your side.
Woodland Bellower: I like this card, but again, if your focus is only on lowering the curve, and if you consider your smaller dudes so irrelevant that you do not want to use Reveillark, then this guy seems cuttable. Maybe replace with Recruiter of the Guard instead.
Greenwarden of Murasa: Again, solid card, but at 6 CMC it's a big offender for your curve. I'd consider replacing with another signet or Spike Weaver.
That's about it for my suggestions for lowering your curve. I know that's what you'd like to do, but keep in mind that your deck doesn't have a way to close out games quickly, so this build will have games that last a long time. Given that, having a curve that has a high end is not a bad thing. You don't want to be stuck spitting out Wood Elves the whole game when your opponents start casting Eldrazi titans or other big haymakers.
Hi exiled! Nope, I try to keep the main lists updated. Sometimes I test out cards so my physical deck changes periodically, but I haven't found anything lately that will earn a spot in the deck. The closest was Angel of Condemnation, which is a good card but I just wasn't sold on it.

Hi ketoglutarate:
Riverwise Augur is decent, but that 4 mana is pretty rough compared to other options.

Melira PodRIP 1/19/15GWHatebearsReally like your list. I wonder if the one on the opening post is your current build. I´m getting the cards for the deck and I´d love to see your latest card choices.
Thank you in advance.

Melira PodRIP 1/19/15GWHatebearsSure, I'm happy to make some suggestions. Do you have a particular budget or do you have a large collection?
