Most Ephara decks floating around have been hastily constructed with messy curves and unfocused lists. I went into this desiring a more cohesive deck with the intention of making a tempo deck that can hold its own in a format that isn't very kind to this sort of deck. Like Edric, Ephara allows you to play a more aggressive game without falling behind in card advantage. I still need 2 cuts.
I originally had more Armageddon effects, but I think this becomes a very different deck if I focus on mana denial. I'm debating the addition of an artifact ramp package to help get Ephara into play sooner.
Made some updates. Would still like some amount of thoughts/criticism on the list, surprised by how little it has received. I added some of the more expensive options, but now I'm worried my curve is a little awkward.
I like yours! I'm torn on putting batterskull back in or not because I've lost a few close games due to not enough lifegain.
I feel like Stonehewer is a bit too slow.
Really dig mobilization but think sacred mesa is probably better; putting swords on flying dudes is a lot more threatening.
Think you might have just a little too much expendable tempo (like snap). More whitemane lion and reveillark for sure.
As good as skullclamp is I think it'd be better served as a flash creature who can trigger Ephara, and preferably fly/bounce/flicker/something.
Flickerwisp is amazing, even though it doesn't flash; you can start a chain of hilariousness when you flicker restoration angel, who flickers flickerwisp when it comes back, which flickers reveillark when it comes back, etc. etc. Total shenanigans.
Hi beware thanks for reminding me muddle is a card I think I'll
Need to make room. I played this deck for hours on end yesterday I went 10-0 in 1v1 4-0 in 2hg and 2-1 in FFA the one loss being me scooping to go bowling ( if I didn't have to go bowling i would have blown them out with Crift) the decks a lot better than I thought despite mtgo being most scrubs I was very impressed how good U/W goodstuff is. I'm so glad I see sunder in your list it's so damn good. How has jitte been I know it would be great for 1:1 but I found myself tutoring feast and famine or fire and ice most games feast and famine more so in multiplayer. The only 2 cards I'm running I wasn't thrilled with you don't run so one hf them is definatly going to be muddle. The main difference between my list and yours is I run Armageddon as well as sunder and play and healthy suite of mana rocks to go with it this means t3 general fairly often as well as blow outs to the geddon or sunder. What I don't run is nearly as many ways to try and make ephara awesome I've found she doesn't need it she get you plenty of advantage in a more typical shell. I really like playing a deck that feels like a 1:1 list that keeps resetting the mana too keep
The game right where we want it stoping combo and ramp from using the multiplayer setting to go over our heads. If I learned anything from playing my 1:1 edric deck in multi it was it's all to easy to hold 2 guys down only to be completely smashed by the guy mindlessly ramping. Time spiral may seem odd or even counter intuitive but I felt a desperate need fir a shuffle effect it early testing and it's been stellar. I think I'll cut my brown ritual in mana vault for your muddle as the decks too light on good tutor effects in these colors.
The weakest card seemed to be mana vault that's not to say it was actually bad just not good enough. I look forward to seeing your progress I remember your awesome nin list and have high hopes of you getting some good testing. If your running anything on not that been particularly good let me know. Also I feel
Like I need maybe 1 more sol ring crusher at cmc 2 or less can't think if any guess I could search it though I wish vandalblast was white. Once I decide what the two next worse cards are I'll probly trim for probe and impulse.
I originally had more Armageddon effects in here. I decided to cut them because it is a very different deck when you focus on mana denial and with that comes a host of important cards to support it. I figured I'd focus on tempo here since my Karametra deck is all Armageddons all the time. I haven't had an opportunity to sleeve this up. Most decks I post are WIPs or theory crafting. The best/most interesting ones get sleeved. This one was next, but my new Athreos aggro-combo list will probably take its place.
I've liked the equipment so far. Feast and Famine and FaI definitely outshine the others, but Jitte is so excellent in so many ways. The ability to pick off random utility dudes like Grand Abolisher is key. Clamp could get cut, but I like the guarantee of card advantage if Ephara gets tucked.
As for Time Spiral, I think it would be better served as Elixir of Immortality. Cheaper, provides a little life gain, and doesn't give your opponents 7 cards. Unless you have to deal with a graveyard focused meta it's probably the right choice, not like we have to ever worry about having enough cards in hand. Also, play Cavern of Souls. Playing a "fair" game of EDH like this deck does requires severe card advantage. That's how Edric can scale so well. We don't have Survival of the Fittest so sticking and protecting Ephara is vital.
