I am tired of having to wait till my turn to cast stuff. I want to add a instant speed enabler but only have 1 slot. So I am tossing around pros and cons of Vedalken Orerry vs Leyline of Anticipation. I am currently running Hypersonic Dragon but he only enables sorceries to be cast as instants.
The link to your deck in your sig isn't working, but either way I would play the Leyline. If the mana isn't an issue, then it is "strictly better" that Vedalken Orrery.
Don't take this the wrong way (the last guy did), but I'm guessing you're a Johnny with an aversion to "I Win" combos (not sure if that's because of your play group or personal taste) or a lack of awareness of them.
As far as not wanting to wait your turn goes, I would run all three options. You have a few sub-optimal card choices, IMO, that could easily be cut to make room. If I had to pick one, I'd go with Leyline of Flash because it's the hardest of the three to remove. Vedalken Orrery is the next best option as it's easiest to tutor. A way to untap your stuff off-turn would also be handy, though that's more of a green thing. I suggest Unwinding Clock + Mycosynth Lattice or at least a generous helping of mana rocks as your best option there.
Just don't be "That Guy" and run Vandalblast if you're playing with the Lattice ;).
You seem like you're trying to leverage your general's strengths without running the classic combo pieces. Niv 1.0 lists tend to run Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, and Mind Over Matter (bonus combo with Temple Bell) for the "Oops, I win" factor. You can certainly get away without them, but you have to admit it's efficient. If you or your playgroup dislikes this type of combo, that would be a very good reason to leave them out, though I tend to dislike and dismiss that kind of philosophy as lazy and unimaginative. "I don't know how to deal with it, so let's ban it" is often times the lazy whiner's first response.

A kid at my local gameshop wanted to break a twenty.
"You got 2 tens?" he asked me.
"No, but I probably got 3 fives." I replied.
"Perfect!"
"You might want to check your math there."
I prefer the handcycling way of winning over "Oops, I win". My group has a lot of noobs and I think it might sour them. I also play at a friends house so it's pretty laid back casual. He has a few cards "house banned" like Vandalblast and Cyclonic Rift. I like the Unwinding Clock/Mycosynth Lattice idea though. I am thinking of removing Melek, Izzet Paragon and Hypersonic Dragon for Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orerry when I get a copy of them. The whole deck is foiled out so I am on the hunt for foil versions right now...
Which would you guys run if you could only run 1?
BTW: the decklist is in my sig.
