I have a decent amount of grave hate as it is but if i were to add any more it probably be something like Leyline of the Void. Also as you mentioned it is not a zombie therefor i would find it quite hard to add it to the deck.
As for Necromancy, i don't really need any extra reanimation at the moment but it is always a card i am aware of along with Animate Dead and Dance of the Dead, as i use all three in my Kaalia deck.
Love the deck man, it looks absolutely insane. Never thought about using Grimgrin in some of these ways before. I had a few thoughts I wanted to share, I suppose.
What are your thoughts on Lim-Dul, the Necromancer? His mana cost is a bit prohibitive, but if you stick him, he gives your zombies protection and allows you to add your opponents' creatures to your horde. If nothing else, sinking some mana to save your zombies from a board wipe seems decent enough.
Also I don't know if you've already covered it in the thread somewhere else, but since you've got half of the combo already, ever thought about adding Archaeomancer/Mnemonic Wall + Living Death to the deck? It's another nice win condition if you have enough zombies/zombie producers in the grave and a Phyrexian Altar out.

i don't think living death has a place in this it feels like it would do more harm than good since you kill all tokens and grimgrin as for instant and sorc recourance i think that menonic wall and archaeomancer not as good as you might like because he only has 13 spells the ones that dont make him win instantly most have flashback/buyback i count 6 that could be targets.

@HonestConman:
Both Lim-Dûl and Living Death were in previous versions of this deck but i removed them as they never preformed the way that i hoped they would.
I have never had a good experience with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx in any multi-colour deck that i have played and i haven't much of an issue where mana is concerned. Besides I'd rather keep the time tested duo of Coffers/Urborg.
I personally run Nykthos in my Grand Arbiter Augustin IV hardcore enchantment control deck, but in that deck I might have Arbiter and 2-3 double-symbol enchantments on the field for a long time, so running Nyk there helps. I do agree with you on this topic though- from my experience running this deck as of late, you might have 5 devotion to black if you're lucky. It's not like we use Gray Merchant of Asphodel for huge devotion drops, it's for the reanimation value of even just a 2 life extort when he drops.
just a suggestion on nykthos
though i do have to say exquisite blood combo seems abit out there(been bothering me since i read this thread) for win cons doesn't feel like it synergise well with your deck. i get the whole life loss thing but i feel that you have a stronger mill combo theme going so i would suggest you replace both cards for mindcrank and Bloodchief Ascension seems like each part would function better on their own as well. i could be completely wrong of course exquisite blood combo could function phenominally since i have not played your deck.
Palace Siege never turned out to be what i had hoped for. Phyrexian Reclamation was a tough choice as i like my utility but it was between this and Akroma's Memorial and i just found an infinite combo with Gisa that would require haste to win so here we are.
EDIT: I would have replaced the Exquisite/Bond combo with the new one but while i was testing Bloodchief Ascension on its own helped as another trigger therefore choosing other cards to cut instead of Exquisite/Bond.
Why did you cut Thousand-Year Elixir? If you're running an infinite combo with Gisa and need haste, why cut out a card that untaps Grim in a creature-vacuum AND gives tap-haste? Sure, Akroma's Memorial beefs up your zombie wall, but if you're that focused on infinite combos, you should just keep the elixir over the memorial, since it serves a purpose like Fatestitcher and Minamo.
Also, why the heck do you run the artifact lands? You aren't yanking all artifacts from your library, you aren't tutoring for artifacts. Using artifact lands leaves you really vulnerable to Merciless Eviction and such. I know if I had one in my hand against you, I'd totally drop it on you. Not to mention so many of your win cons use artifacts, scrapping two of your lands is just icing. Unless you were using artifact recursion and Daretti-style artifact recycling, there's really no reason to add another way to break your land.

I've also been trying to figure this one out. Really only Beacon of Unrest and Trinket Mage interact positively with them. They make your Cabal Coffers and Drowned Catacomb and Tainted Isle worse. You added them at the same time you added the Trinket Mage - with all the broken 1-drop artifacts that you have, is it really worth diluting your manabase to be able to fetch up those lands?
Also - no Polluted Delta? I can see cutting Underground Sea for cost reasons, but Delta should almost be an auto-include post-KTK.

Also, I think you're not really getting full value out of Grave Defiler, running only 21 Zombies. That's less than a one in four chance you'll hit with the Defiler, and he only digs four cards deep. Unless there's something I'm missing, you could probably exchange him for something more impactful.
You are missing that it is essentially a second way to run the [[Gray Merchant of Asphodel]] combo. [[Cloudstone Curio]] + [[Rooftop Storm]] + Gary wins the game so long as you have access to one more zombie (like maybe your general?). Defiler in place of Gary goes through your entire deck, adds every zombie in your deck to your hand, and finds Gary to drop and finish the game with. It essentially gets you more mileage out of Curio, which for me at least is only part of a single win con.
In my experience, Shadows of the Past has been great for filtering through my deck, especially if there is a lot of death in your meta.
If you notice, a sizable portion on your zombies and non zombies are wizards. If you dont mind adding some slight wizard tribal, I would recommend Azami, Lady of Scrolls. While my personal list is more zombie wizard pushed, with the number of wizards you have, it could be useful. Give it a whirl.
Lastly, I can't recommend Rite of Replication enough. Kicking it targeting Gray Merchant of Asphodel costs your opponents 60 life in one fell swoop. Even if that doesnt kill everone, (maybe you're against that weird guy playing Trostani, Selesnya's Voice) you should be sizably ahead.
hay have you tried throwing in the nukes ? stuff like damntion, black sun, ect.ect. i throw them in my deck and some spot removel to help slow down the game state when needed.
It's nice to see the deck is still generating some interest in my absence. I have had little if any time to play/test magic since my last update, but i am back for the time being so lets dive in.
@Valoopy: The main reason Thousand-Year Elixir was cut over Akroma's Memorial is because most of the time i need haste rather than a psuedo-haste effect. It is in my cards considering list so i dont forget about it. I do run Faces of the Past and Opposition to help with tapping/untapping in addition to the other two you mentioned.
As for the artifact lands the reason is that it was another way to get a land when i needed one. It hasn't been much of an issue either way but i do see your point.
@KnickM: Polluted Delta will be making its way into the deck.
@KwasiMojo: I did test Lake of the Dead for awhile but i could never get past the downside of it.
I belive Valpoony summed up quite nicely why Grave Defiler is in the deck.
@Inchtall: While I agree Shadows of the Past is great for filtering but it is not something i would use to replace a part Exquisite Bond combo.
My deck as it stands is super heavy in black so adding a second triple blue card like Azami is not in the cards at the moment, if i where to add her i would mostly likely cut Teferi or a Zombie and that is not something I'm willing to do.
Rite of Replication is always been in or out of the deck. At this point in time its out but its always been one of the two/three cards i consider adding.
@korgrin: I have tried the "nukes" in the past but i was never fond of them and they ended up being some of the first cards to go after testing was done.
After testing as much as I could in the past four days I have decided to cut the Exquisite/Bond Combo. I realized that I liked the novelty of the two that I was blinding myself to the actual truth that they are just not something i need anymore. Therefore...
Hey man, love the Zombie theme going on. I appreciate it a lot, certainly. I think I would do BUG Zombies but Grimgrin would play ahuge part in that.
Have you considered Dire Undercurrents? It seems that with all the reanimating and tokens that you're creating, you'd get some heavy mileage out of it. I used to play it in my mono-Black Oona and it was incredible. I've only ever had good experiences with it and it would solidify your draw power even more.
I tried going with BUG Zombies and UBR Zombies but neither worked out for me.
I tested Dire Undercurrents if the past but i decided not to use it wasn't as good as i had hoped. Looking at it now doesn't change my opinion of the card, at most i would be using it to make my opponents discard cards but i like my use of Cackling Fiend as it doesn't target and hits all my opponents (My meta contains quite a few decks with Ivory Mask/Leyline of Sanctity like shenanigans).
Hey there! I've actually been play testing this deck a lot and I make a few tweaks here and there, however if there is one major card that you really should include in the build it is Tezzeret the Seeker. This guy has a ridiculous amount of utility in this combo deck it helps fetch your artifacts to combo out/ lock out your opponents, at his worse he will fetch you your sol ring, sensei's but he can also get your artifact lands for 0 so you can hit 2 lands or colour fix. I find him the most useful when I use him to fetch my combo pieces (usually the altars) and even after all of that he can also untap some mana rocks for you. All around champ imo, you should seriously consider him.
Also another major thing is that the thornbite staff is seriously just a waste of a slot, the combo requires far too many pieces and is extremely rare that you actually can get it off practically. A sub that I made was I threw in my old Triskelion so the deck would still have as many combos (goes off with mikaeous for the win)
The only Battle for Zendikar cards im looking into are Ugin's Insight and Sunken Hollow but other than that nothing else has piqued my interest.
Been really busy sorry for not replying sooner but such is life.
@WorldTreason: Tezzeret would be good for the deck... I will have to test him along with the two artifact lands i cut.
Thornbite Staff is mostly for Ghoulcaller Gisa to get infinite zombie tokens. Its currently the weakest card in the deck.. But its the only one that works really well with Gisa as Faces of the Past doesn't work if i sacrifice a zombie.
@HagraSharpshooter:
1. The only lord i use is Zombie Master. The reason for why no other lords aren't in the deck is, in my opinion, the do nothing for you aside from a mild increase of power and toughness. In a more casual or 1vs1 setting yes they are good but i never liked them (aside from Zombie Master) in a competitive setting which i am currently in.
2. I tried both Contamination and Gate to Phyrexia before but i found little success with them at the time. I will add them to my cards im considering list and test them again. As for Tortured Existence it seems like a weaker Havengul Lich.
so i'm making this list for my fiance. she's not a huge player so it wouldn't be terribly competitive. i play competitively but i got decks that do that for me. most is based off of the primer
True, there are some things I'd rather replace but I just don't have the stuff to replace them (cloudstone mainly). But I think it's something she'd like to play.
As for Necromancy, i don't really need any extra reanimation at the moment but it is always a card i am aware of along with Animate Dead and Dance of the Dead, as i use all three in my Kaalia deck.
