You're deck has a good amount of versatile removal. On top of that you have great tutors. Spending six mana just for you to vindicate it, will set your opponent back a turn. If a lot of people run this, I'm thinking about adding a nature's claim.
The Immortal Sun is good regardless of it nerfing planeswalkers. For midrange and slower decks it gives you an extra draw, makes your spells cheapers, and buffs your creatures. The effect that neuters planeswalkers is just a bonus, actually.

Pretty much this. But I think what Zauberstein said is pretty true, there's a decent amount of removal to hopefully take care of something like this, and something like Vandalblast may not be a bad inclusion if the meta starts to incorporate this into their decks a lot.

Hey Trav, what is the salt level of others when you play this deck? Online I get either "holy crap this is cool" or cranky people that either berate me or just go AFK (which is kind of common on MTGO actually in EDH).
I'm finally making the plunge to putting it together in paper. I don't think my local shop would probably tolerate it as my sole deck (I have others) but just curious what kind of reactions people get IRL.

Ehh it depends. I mean, the Time Warp effects get a lot of negative attention, but other than that the deck is right up there with a lot of the other decks people play. I mean, I don't combo, the deck is barely aggressive. It does get a lot of hate, though. Not like people getting upset hate, but people target you a lot. Which ultimately makes the deck worse lol
Compared to Ob Nixilis Reignited, starts with 1 less loyalty, plus one deals 1 more dmg but has opp discard instead of having you draw so Ob wins here, Angrath has better -3, Ob probably has a better -8.
Slightly worse than Ob but still decent.
It's a pity they made a whole new planeswalker in Angrath instead of having Sandruu, the original planeswalker minotaur stranded on Ixalan. Sandruu could've been RU, which is still in the colors of the shard the pirates use. Oh well...
As far as getting back on topic, that's not as good a planeswalker for a Superfriends deck. I'd probably run Urza over Angrath.

Good commander? We're just talking about for the 99, and I think Urza won't be legal here pretty soon.
As for Angrath, I would agree for the most part. I honestly like his +1, maybe not more than Ob but I think it's good. I also think his ultimate may just be better than Ob's, especially if you crack it later in the game. IMO his minus is okay, as it gets around indestructible, but who's really gonna care that much about a <=3 cmc creature? I think I may like Ob's ability more here.

I meant good planeswalker, lol. Although it would've been epic if they gave Urza the same planeswalker effect as Teferi, Freyalise, Daretti, Ob Nixilis, and Nahiri.

Yeah Urza is pretty awesome, and him being five color is awesome too.
I don't think so. Although another Red Black planeswalker is great to have, I think Angrath, the Flame-Chained doesn't do enough for us. I personally had considered Journey to Eternity for use on abusing dead ETB creatures, but have since decided against it.
Long time follower, first time poster to the thread! This is my current list I'm trying. While my meta isn't super competitive, most everyone freaks out whenever there is any planeswalker on the battlefield and they all band together to kill it asap. Thus, I've had to include more creatures and board wipes than most superfirends builds generally use to protect them, with a minor enchantments theme to keep value around. Any ideas to keep the table off my planeswalkers/ biggest bang for my buck for overall improvements?
I don't see anything particularly in Rivals. Quick question, is something up with MTGS notifications? I'm subscribed to this thread and haven't received an email in forever

As you can see from my list, I like to run no creatures and run enchantments such as Lethal Vapors/Moat/The Abyss/etc. to keep the board clear. Granted, I understand that a couple of those cards are fairly expensive, but it has worked well for me. Also, I'm not sure how long you've been playing the list, but eventually your meta will realize that planeswalker decks aren't necessarily that crazy and will stop focusing so much on you.
Holy crap I'm amazed that this thread is still going. I've been playing cEDH almost exclusively for a year now. My walker deck is quite dusty. What have you guys learned since SOI?
At work there is a casual playgroup where I cannot bring cEDH decks so I'm rebuilding this deck. Feel free to share any insights in how things have changed for you. Any new pet cards? Is the meta more forgiving? Less?

Since SOI? I honestly can't say too much has changed, at least that I remember. I haven't been playing as much lately, though I did play recently and was sort of getting stomped on. I think the decks I sat down with were just a little too fast/aggressive for me. So I may try and run one or two wraths. Also I'm thinking about dropping Phyrexian Arena for Rhystic Study, opinions?
Study has always been the go to for my superfriends build. My group always either cast far more than can be paid for or just don't seem to care that I am drawing that much. Compared to the Arena, study nets me at least one card without the life loss penalty
I don't see anything particularly in Rivals. Quick question, is something up with MTGS notifications? I'm subscribed to this thread and haven't received an email in forever
Ever since the Twitch takeover, I've had the same issue - rarely get notifications on my threads or even when people respond to me.

Yeah, I run Rhystic over Arena in my superfriends. While it isn't guaranteed cards, it can potentially net a lot more, and if your opponents play around it, you slow them down so they can't threaten your walkers as much.
When I play online, regardless of deck, I find most people never pay for the tax on Rhystic Study. The player with Rhystic Study usually wins. I try and explain to people that you need to treat it like a Sphere of Resistance, but the average ability is a little on the lower side in the rooms I'm in. 1 mana vs. 1 card, that is a no-brainer.
I would think about running it for sure. Too bad I don't own a second one in paper and I just got a nice Apocalypse Phyrexian Arena.

I think I definitely am. At the very least it sort of slows down aggressive decks.
Was trying to paste in card descriptions but MTG Salvation is being junk and blocking me for Non Latin Unicode blah blah blah
Mox Amber (0 mana cost artifact, taps for any color of legendary permanent) looks awesome and will be a commander staple and very useful for a WUBRG deck full of legendary permanents.
Jaya Ballard (Mono Red, instant and sorceries matter)
Baby Karn (Mono Brown, no idea looks like trash) EDIT: I don’t think I read this read this right. Card draw machine. But it gives opponents choices, more expensive than Rhystic Study or Phyrexian Arena. Another tool but not auto-include?
Neither of the planeswalkers look perfect for the deck on the surface, though both look strong in the right shell.
