I do as well. Both are very good cards. I used to run Mana Reflection in my Mayael deck but then Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger came out and i replaced it with a better Mayaelable version.
Fair enough, when I first built my Mayael deck, I put all three in there lol.

Some of you may think that you have made great mistakes in your lives, and perhaps you have. But let me ask you this.... did you ever play strip poker with two fat chicks and win?
Then if Vorinclex stays, which one gets replaced? Mirari's Wake gives a slight creature pump and only costs 5, while Mana Reflection, although it costs 6, doubles any mana from all sources, not just lands.

I think it would have to be Wake, I do love tapping my Bloom Tender for 6 to activate Mayael (Reflection used to be insane with Bounce Lands too, before I ended up cutting them to smoothen out my manabase). The only thing that really gets advantaged by Wake is Avenger of Zendikar imo. I don't think it is a given or an easy choice, but I personally would probably prefer Mana Reflection in Mayael. (Unlike my Sliver Queen deck, which is a token deck, and my Scion of the Ur-Dragon deck which wants to win with Commander Damage and the +1/+1 often helps).
Also, should Purity get a shot in this deck?lI'm not sure if it would do enough, but it would make pain lands give us life.
Purity is a cool card, I remember when I saw it for the first time and made a SCD on it, the general consensus was that most of the time it would just end up doing nothing, unless burn was really prevalent in your meta.

I play Purity in my Mayeal but I also run more fatties than a normal list. As Toonamiguy said, it is a meta dependent fatty. If there are a lot of noncombat damage combos in your meta she is going to perform very well.
Some of you may think that you have made great mistakes in your lives, and perhaps you have. But let me ask you this.... did you ever play strip poker with two fat chicks and win?
Lurking Predators was in my deck, and then I cut it, then it went back in, and then I cut it again lol. I know that card can be insane at times, but I've found it inconsistent from time to time, even with the library manipulation. It's always on the Maybeboard though, and might find it's way back in at some point
Now that I'm probably replacing Mirari's Wake with Top, maybe it's time for Lurking Predators to go back in too. Considering making a few changes soon.
Some of you may think that you have made great mistakes in your lives, and perhaps you have. But let me ask you this.... did you ever play strip poker with two fat chicks and win?
Thoughts? Opinions? Something I shouldn't be cutting? Shouldn't be adding? Better options available?
Why are you cutting xenagos?
I had Nylea in my list and I quickly realized her giving trample actually didn't help much because almost all my critters had evasion anyways.
I made a list of things I wanted to add, was like 11 cards, went down to these 8, then tried make a list of cards I was willing to cut, was stuck at 7 for ages and the weakest thing looked like Xenagos. I've only played with him a few times and he seemed alright, but nothing great you know? Nylea I think I shot down too early without even giving her a chance and thought should probably test her out - even though a lot of creatures have evasion and usually end the game, a lot also end up being held back or getting chumped and I see her helping there. Don't really wanna run 2 Gods since there are times they will be inactive too. But yeah....Ghostway doesn't seem like it's going to be incredible either, but games I don't win usually involve a Terminus, Hallowed Burial or Final Jugement so might just be necessary.
Notes: A few changes. Tracker & Kiki-Jiki can be great from time to time, but they can also be bad at times. Replaced some of the ramp for lower CMC ramp to smoothen the deck out. Resonator was probably a bit win more, and I want to try out the deck without Wake for a while, see how just Mana Reflection and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger work out. Hellkite and Serenity should be welcome additions to the deck. Both Top & Predators made their way back into the deck too. Oracle might actually end up coming back in sometime, it ramps, clears the top of library so Mayael doesn't miss as often, and now Top is back in the deck too. So whenever I find a spot next, I'll try put her back in.
Xenagos, God of Revels is too good to be taken out...gives haste and double the power of a creature. You have the ability to tooth and nail to it and blightsteel and in most cases win the game. Or if you have it on the field, you summon Mayael and then you can instantly use her ability...Xenagod gives you many more win conditions than you would normally have without it.

Yeah, I ended up not cutting it. Was wrong to consider it
Notes: Journey into Nyx Update! It's getting harder and harder to cut cards...G-Wave is good for ending games when you have Mana Reflection and what not, but now Mirari's Wake is gone too and I think the deck can probably do without it. Godsire is a boss, and at times is the face of a Mayael deck, works great with Rings of Brighthearth & Seedborn Muse but he can take a hiatus from the deck while I test out Iroas, God of Victory who I think should be pretty good. Although most of my creatures do have evasion, more along with protection will probably help. Will see how it performs. I've been looking forward to a 5 power creature that gives everything haste for quite some time now, always wishing that Urabrask the Hidden had 1 extra power or that Maelstrom Wanderer was Naya! So, will see how this guy performs. 3 toughness is a shame, but should help most of the time.
Other cosniderations included Mana Confluence (probably don't need it), Bearer of the Heavens (seems great with all the ways we have to regenerate and make things indestructible, but it's probably too much effort - I could be wrong though, and this guy could make an appearance in the future), don't think Ajani, Mentor of Heroes or Hydra Broodmaster are good enough either. Also thought of Sun Titan (needs to find a spot I think, just don't know where), Sakura-Tribe Elder in place of a 2 mana ramp sorcery so I can use it with Survival of the Fittest or Green Sun's Zenith it into play, it's just a question of basic lands vs shocks, might be worth it though) and Spellbreaker Behemoth - there aren't that many counters in my meta, but always good to be prepared, right?
Anyway, as always, comments and suggestions are welcome and encouraged!
First of all, I'm not a fan of Cyclops of Eternal Fury. Maybe it gives haste to our creatures, but seriously - only 3 in back for 6 mana? In this moment I would use my Mayael ability to find Xenagos, God of Revels. Urabrask the Hidden is better even if it has only 4 power.
I do want to test the Cyclops, I think he should be good - 3 toughness does suck, but we have a LOT of ways to protect creatures (regeneration, indestructible, damage prevention and what not). I do like it more than Urbrask, but would instantly run it if it had 5 power.
As for the Hydra, it's a cool mana sink, and yeah it works great with Surge, but Mayael is our mana sink. And it doesn't do too much unless you're already ahead. If the tokens it made had trample, or at least it had trample, then maybe...But yeah, he is a consideration, and I might try him out at some point, but for now I don't really see him going in =p
Maybe it depends on meta. I usually playing vs another Mayael, Arcum Dagsson, Marath, Tariel and Melek. My 6/10 hands are gross and allow me to put Mayael turn 2, so many times I get hate like Iona, Shield of Emeria, Ensnaring Bridge or Wrath of God. Also our meta is looks like pillow fort strategy - Blazing Archon, Bridge or Ghostly Prison are many times at board. So Hydra with Warstorm Surge could be something allowing us to killing opponents even without attacking them.
I never really want to play Mayael on turn 2, usually just the turn before I can activate her. Super fast starts are only ever thanks to Bloom Tender.
Usually the player casting Iona names white to stop wraths or blue to stop the control player.
As for pillowfort, I can generally push through it - as we only need a creature or two to get through. I do like Hydra with Surge, but it's a rare situation, just like Blightsteel Colossus + Surge, it does happen from time to time, but I wouldn't put a creature in just for that. When I see the Hydra, I just see a big evasion-less creature that makes more just like it, once. I try to make it so every Mayael target in the deck does something, you know? The Hydra's ability just doesn't seem that appealing to me. Maybe I'm wrong though, it's just my initial opinion - if I have the card played against me or I see someone else doing awesome things with it, then I might reconsider it! Hope you can see it from my point of view too lol
Notes: Only reasons for this change are small interactions such as tutoring Tribe Elder up with Green Sun's Zenith...Discarding it to Survival of the Fittest...Triggering Aura Shards...Being able to Rings of Brighthearth it...with the drawback of not being able to search for Shocks, I think it's worth it.
I'd recommend finding a place for Platinum Emperion. Mechadroid singlehandedly keeps me in games.
Oh yeah, he's cool. I added him to my "Other Considerations" list. I haven't really ever felt like the need for him, but I've never tested him out either - I might do that whenever I get a chance next, or see if I situations come up where I might have wanted him. Gisela, Blade of Goldnight keeps me safe from time to time, but mostly its Blazing Archon. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll definitely consider it
I think that new dragon, Scourge of the Throne, would be able to find a place in here.
Yeah, he did catch my eye. Although my first thought of him was for my Scion deck, the new dragon is the only consideration from CNS for Mayael so far. Hopefully we do get some more stuff from tomorrow's full spoiler though
Notes: Considerations from Conspiracy included Council's Judgment and Scourge of the Throne, but neither of them made their way into the deck. At first I thought the new dragon was pretty good, until I realised that you only got an additional combat phase if he attacked the player with the most life - just not sure how often that'll happen. I did however decide to try out more versatile removal options in place of the two 1 CMC white exile spells, will see how they work out. Beast Within was another solid contender for one of these spots too.
Fair enough, when I first built my Mayael deck, I put all three in there lol.
All 3 is just too much imo.

Think you edited the post just before I replied to it so didn't see this part of your previous comment.
I commented on Lurking Predators before when @Decimator1 asked about it too:

Just over a week before all of JOU spoilers are up, so far I'm really excited for Iroas, God of Victory which has to go in for sure. I'm also considering Cyclops of Eternal Fury which might actually be good in the deck. It's no Maelstrom Wanderer, but it does the job. Bearer of the Heavens is cool, acts as a Stalking Vengeance "don't wrath" card, and has synergy with Yavimaya Hollow, Deathless Angel, Spearbreaker Behemoth & Avacyn, Angel of Hope, but it's probably not worth it. But yeah, more on that later!
Anyway, as always, all suggestions and comments are welcome
