As an aside, the foil all is dust is absolutely gorgeous. Completely personal opinion here, but I think its one of the few foils that looks better than the original. just my 2cents.
(referring to Staff of Domination)It also, while not amazingly efficient, allows card draw. Sure, we rarely need it because Kozilek, but if you don't have a sac outlet or an easy way to get Kozilek back in your hand you're stuck top-decking.
The most important thing it does for me is give you options. Need to stop his Eldrazi from attacking? Tap it before combat. Need to block that dude but you attacked? Untap Kozi. Need to dig for an answer? Throw mana at it.
Happen to have Metalworker? Awesome - win the game.
Staff of Domination is a re-usable way to stop my opponent from killing me with Skittles. He guns for me every game because "Kozilek is way too broken." If he doesn't have a boots or a greaves on Skittles, Staff of Domination saves me from dying. Lifegain is irrelevant, and Predator Flagship is the only replacement I can think of that will help me consistently against him. Maybe it's just my meta that makes me life Staff so much, but then again, maybe I'm always the one having to cover his ass because "I play rude cards."
As an aside, the foil all is dust is absolutely gorgeous. Completely personal opinion here, but I think its one of the few foils that looks better than the original. just my 2cents.
I'm looking to foil my deck too. I've always had a foil Kozilek and foil Ugin and coloress cards look so good foiled out.
One basically one card short of foiling out my Koz deck. WHO IN THE WORLD HAS A FOIL BLIGHTSTEEL!?!?!?!?!? Send it my way!
Hello
I just have to tease you a bit
Im actually working on foiling my deck too. The cards im missing really is random colorlesslands that NOBODY has, foil Karn Liberated and an Oblivion Stone i think. Its 8 cards or so, other cards are Alpha/Beta/the edition i like.
This is my deck so far, what do you guys think? WOuld be cool with some feedback. I got a Blinkmoth Urn somewhere, what should i cut for it?
I've noticed during this time that people are quite afraid of Kozilek, i can cast him on turn 2 sometimes, the table usually scoops.
Quite the Archenemy games lol.
Oh yeah, our group does not really like Infect, but im gonna run Blightsteel Colossus in the sideboard. I don't know how much i can push this deck before people starts complaining alot but im really open for tips!
It would be awesome to get tips from you all
I've been thinking, we allow a 10 card sideboard, so im planning to put a BUNCH of horrible stuff there if someone is playing a really hardcore deck.
I will agree with that. They are silver, they have a reason to be shiny, I suppose. While I don't think I want to foil the entire deck, some cards are just too cool not to (Mindslaver, I'm looking at you). Also, it struck me the other day that shimmer myr should actually shimmer.
And while Kozilek is definitely on the list of things I'd like to get in foil, it's not happening anytime soon at all (I'm giving my budget a vacation for a while, it did a bunch of work building this deck! )
On an unrelated note, I've been doing some playtesting with Scroll Rack, and I can't quite wrap my head around how to use it effectively. I get how it's really good the first time you use it, but after that it just sort of seems to durdle. How have any of you who run that card found it to work best?
I'm hoping your sideboard will have things like Winter Orb, Static Orb, Tangle Wire, etc.
I would think that you could probably swap Worn Powerstone for Blinkmoth Urn, but it's up to you. Neither one will start producing mana the turn you play it, and the Urn can produce far more mana than the powerstone. That's just my feeling, though.

On a quick gaze, the weak cards are obviously Nemesis Mask and Planar Portal, I'd just cut the mask for it. If you want to replace mana source for mana source, Walking Atlas.

Ofc the sideboard would have those horrible things I just have to get them... in foil /alpha/beta and that will suck.
The Workshop is actually a proxy but its one of the best proxies i've ever seen, you can barerly tell its a fake card. Im ofc planning to get a real Workshop eventually, but with a proxy this nice im kinda thinking otherwise lol.
Anywho, i've had some experience with the workshop now and it's an amazing card! But it has its moments where it crippled me quite alot, i needed that 1 mana so i could cast kozilek but i never got it.
Or the time i needed mana to activate an ability and it didn't tap for mana.
Like i said, it's an amazing card but it has its moments where its quite the dudd.

I finally managed to get that foil Planar Portal, it took me some time but yeah i can see if i can cut it.
Nemesis Mask actually won me a couple of games but i can see it being cut.
Btw guys, how has Ugin been treating you?
My Alter art german misprint one has been quite amazing the times it landed, it's been difficult to resolve Ugin since ppl are scared of him. Especially if i play R&D's Secret Lair haha(since the german one says X or more, so for 0 it exiles everything above X lol).
I am extremely happy with Ugin in this deck! In my playgroup, at least, people trend not to remove him immediately (I think they may be getting tunnel vision from Kozilek).
I find that I use Ugin mostly as a last ditch All is Dust (but better) and has gotten me out of any number of impending losses. It's kind of fun to watch the Reanimator deck shrug off Ugin, and then realize that it says exile, not destroy.
Example of why I am a fan:
The last game I played, I topdecked Ugin, then used Top to draw blighsteel the turn before the Omnath deck was about to run me over with giant tokens. cast them both, wipe the board, forgemaster for Akroma's Memorial. of course, removal gets used on the memorial. But rogues passage is in Palau, so it's still GG.
I love Ugin in the deck. I'm actually going to find a home for Haven of the Spirit Dragon because I think Ugin is worth it, and being able to bring him back, and then re-play haven with crucible is awesome. I might take another look at Steel Hellkite since he has synergy with crucible as well.
talk about ugin, last time I played, I casted him 2-3 times in each game. Bad shuffle maybe, dunno? But yeah, usually after I get him online, I use second ability. Never the first, never the last. After that, add some one two three ghostfire lick to opponents to recover his loyalty points, it's awesome cause after wipe, 90% of the time, the board have no colored permanents. So, it's free finger licking good!
The problem i faced was that i didn't want to waste him so to speak because there was 1 creature that just happned to have a conv manacost of 7.
But i guess im just too greedy.
And yet another problem is that Haven of the Spirit Dragon in foil is near to impossible to find here in Sweden at a decent price.
So don't play a foil one then? Or do you have to run a foil or else your dick doesn't get hard or something? (Sorry for the flame, but it really pisses me off when people ABSOLUTELY MUST run some premium version of a card. What's the point? You're too good to play with regular cardboard covered in plastic on a rubber playmat? Your piece of cardboard has to be shiny? OOOH SO SHINY!)

I saw you guys were talking about Staff of Domination earlier and I thought I'd throw my 2-cents in, especially after the 'I'd only run it in a Karn list':
In my current Karn list I don't even run the card. It doesn't go infinite with anything other than a big Everflowing Chalice or a Metalworker. Sure, it's draw, but there are significantly better draw engines that require less of a mana-sink. It's not even a good beater with Karn on the board and doesn't advance any gameplan other than 'use with infinite mana,' which virtually every other card in the deck also helps with. I can make a Pyxis of Pandemonium exile everyone's library, make Staff of Nin deal infinite damage, or even dump all my Eldrazi on the board from a Citanul Flute.
I ALSO don't run it in Kozilek because the big man himself is a better card-drawer and has the same problem of not doing anything else without the same pieces listed above. There are so many more effective cards for that slot that we can use, many obscure and cheaper (both in price and mana cost).
I whole-heartedly believe that the only reason people still use it is because of the infamy it has. The card shines so much better in a shell like Elves or Arcum Dagsson.

I've acutally not been able to find one unfoiled either at our LGS and it hasn't been on my priority list.
There are alot of cards i don't foil but this deck is special to me.
Gonna see if i can find an unfoiled one this thursday just to try the card.
I was just thinking of a card the other day that according to the search hasn't come up yet. Serum Powder, not the greatest mana rock, but it does significantly increase your chance of getting something like Mana Crypt, Metalworker or Mishra's Workshop in your opening hand. Worth testing?

In competitive environments I bet it's valuable, but depends on your group. I've played with groups that do typical mulls (one free), groups that do "take a new 7 as many times as you like," and groups that do selective mulls.
