How many non-rocks are you running in the deck? Because all this does is turn non-rocks into rocks that tap for 1.
That seems sub-par except for the synergy with Blinkmoth Urn or Winter Orb style things.
One quarter of the deck is non-rock artifacts.
Even if you're playing a vastly different list than mine, you'll have a lot of non-rock artifacts. (which doesn't even mean non-mana producing. Example: Krark-Clan Ironworks, Helm of Awakening, Ashnod's Altar)
And I didn't even count fringe-applications like an untapped LED or Myr Battlesphere tokens.
I'm unsure in which situations you find it bad, but at it's worst it's a rock that only taps 1 for Kozilek, not even including that the next Tormod's Crypt you play is a Mox. The only situations I can think of where it's truly horrible, are ones where most cards are. E.g Topdeck mode
Oh right, EDIT:
I'm playtesting Static Orb right now, and it's proven better than expected. With all the new toys we have it's really proving worthy.
Im gonna de-pimp my kozilek deck
The thought has hit me over and over again and.its just a huge moneysink for me.
Gonna try and get rid of.one piece at a time but maybe i'll just so that CMDRdecks deck tech i wanted to do, keep it whole for a little while more.
The foil Inspiring Statuary came in tge mail nd.it.dawned on me that i don't need the foils anymore.
But most of the cards im getting rid of in the beginning will be alpha/beta/eternal/modern playable cards.
Its been a fun project throughout the years, kinda.sucks that i only was missing a couple of cards.
The powerlevel won't go down but im losing the Solar Flare ability, blinding my opponents with all the bling.
Im bringing my deck back to where i study so i can get some matches in. Gonna try out Inspiring Statuary.
Oh yeah, i think im keeping my OG foiled Eldrazi titans, gonna build 12 post in legacy and cards like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre is.waay cheaper these days
Edit: and just think about it, walking around with a case of 100 cards thats worth more than 2 high end pcs. Its alot.of.money.
But also a project of love and something thats driven with, passion
Your list is really looking great with the new changes. Haunted Cloak may as well join all EDH Staples lists out there. It is simply amazing for multiplayer games and only great 1v1 Glad to see it.
So, i tried out Paradox Engine and how many thinks this will seriously survive the next bannlist update? haha
Its just... such a good card!
This is the list im running atm.
one example of plays:
i had Paradox engine, mana vault, doubling cube and Torpor orb out.
6 lands out.
Drew my top that i put there since i was about to play it to generate mana with mana vault + Doubling Cube + Paradox Engine.
Tap, 3 mana. Played the boots for 2, untapped, tap for 3 mana, play top for 1 mana, untap, tap for 3 mana, played inspiring statuary, untap. tap for 3 mana.
(And i actually had to play the inspiring statuary last since how it works with mana abilities)
DOuble my mana, 9 x 2 becomes 18.
Tap all my other artifacts to pay for kozilek
Pay the rest with some of my 18 mana and i got 13 to go.
Played kozilek, untapped all of my nonland permanents, drew 7 cards.
I drew into All is Dust which i could play for free with Inspiring statuary and the Engine...
I actually held back since if i continued my opponents would've scooped immediatly.
Yes, i do play a few clunky cards but some are pet cards (Myr Turbine) and some i just need them for protection (Crawlspace / Forcefield) because of the attention my deck usually gets.
And i like Staff of Domination, its flexible, stops voltron commanders.
AND Emrakul was Amazing! More than 30 damage towards one opponent and i wrathed away my other opponents board with his own wrath (i even got a copter!)
What about Planar Bridge. 8 mana is alot cheaper than 10, 11, and even 12. Plus you can search your library for, let's say, Ulamog, and put him out. Seems easier than hoping to pull the few big guys in this deck.

Downside is that you don't get the cast trigger. I'm testing it but the higher cost to tutor vs Planar Portal and missing the cast trigger is iffy.
Plus you can't tutor for All is Dust with the Bridge which has been relevant once.
If you're thinking of playing Planar Portal, just play Ring of Three Wishes instead. If you can't win the game after 3 activations, somethings gone very wrong. Now Planar Bridge has some merits. If they don't counter the Planar Bridge they can't counter the cards that follow. Reminds me of the time I foolishly let my opponent resolve an Expedition Map while playing mono blue control. He searched for Cavern of Souls and there was no stopping his Sigarda.
I'm personally running none of them right now and I'm not sure if that's correct, but I dislike cards that telegraph "this card isn't in my deck for any other reason but to end the game RIGHT NOW" (Says the guy playing Paradox Engine. Yes, it will be banned.) I'd rather play a card that lets me cast Kozilek more consistently.
Now, Staff of Domination. The combo with Metalworker is the dream, but Clock of Omens plus any artifact that taps for 3+ (Thran Dynamo, Gilded Lotus, Grim Monolith, Mana Vault, Basalt Monolith, Doubling Cube, sometimes Everflowing Chalice) is some fantastic mana ramp. But for that synergy alone? Overcosted. The card draw? Overcosted. Tapping down opponents creatures? Overcosted. Life gain? Don't get me started. But all that utility in one card? It's enough for me to justify it. It's like Warping Wail and even Magnifying Glass; take those abilities individually? Not worth talking about. Flexibility to choose? That's worth another look. In a decklist as tight as ours, we need some cards pulling double duty.

But isn't everything except for the rocks and kozilek himself overcosted? Colorless effects are all overcosted. Staff is a fine card.
Anyone looking forward to Modern Master 2017? Does *almost* nothing for Kozilek, but I'd like to get fetch lands and stuff for other decks. (And sure, a foil Cavern of Souls while I'm at it!) Oddly, I own almost none of the cards in this set. Whatever cards I did own are gone from when I traded most of my collection for The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale (I traded my cards at 50% value, but it was about $600 at the time, so worked out okay!) So... I'm looking forward to owning these cards again, and for the first time. Even the bulk rares are more playable than usual.
Ok so there is not a lot of discussion here... I will go with some changes I made myself, but I would really be interested Juwdah to see what your list looks like right now, if you ended up running Static Orb, if you dropped Scrap Trawler...
Someone brought to my attention the card Chalice of the Void. At the moment, this card is getting quite some love in modern... I never thought about it in this deck, but then I started doing some researches. Based on the optimized list that can be found in the description of the deck here, I started looking at the CMC of the cards in top tier decks. What I saw there surprised me. Most of the decks were running a lot of spells with the same CMC. Generally, the most popular CMC are 1 or 2, with a quarter of the deck or even more (from what I saw up to about a third of the deck). That would mean a Chalice of the Void set on 1 or 2 would prevent people from playing pretty good card.
Also, since green is one of the weaknesses of this deck, it could also be used against it. At 1 CMC it counters the mana elfs like Llanowar and co., at 2 it could be against artifact removal cards... All in all seems potent.
I feel like it could help make the deck even more competitive. Sure, you have to know what you are up against to use it properly, but used properly, I feel like it could be some really good protection, even if it could hurt us a little, most of our deck is at 3 CMC, so opponents would be a lot more affected.
Thoughts on this? What could be removed from the deck to test it? Personally removing Trawler.

I recently acquired a chalice and gave it a go in this deck, I personally found it was most effective when used at 3, but the optimal number is likely specific to the meta you play in (mine isn't overly competitive). Since I also run Kozilek, the Great Distortion as my commander, I found that the ability was rather redundant, in that I couldn't cast the specified CMC spells through chalice so they just sat dead in my hand, since I was also unable to discard them to Kozilek's ability. Although much more expensive to cast (usually not a problem in this deck), pushing for something like 4-6 CMC stops a lot of wrath effects, specifically Austere Command, Merciless Eviction and the like, although most of the time I found I had better things to do with that much mana. That being said, it may be an entirely different story in a Butcher of Truth list with a lot less options for countering problematic things.
Ok, I'm here again with the new spoils! I just saw this morning:
With Paradox Engine it would be nuts. With untap effects it would be nuts. Playing cards for free for days! I mean, we already have Voltaic Key, Unwinding Clock, Clock of Omens, Paradox Engine... Even without combo and only simple untappers, this would build pretty quickly and would allow us to play a lot of free spells... Imagine hitting an Eldrazi! It is still casted...!!!
This will definitely be tested in my build, I simply don't know what to replace for it yet. But I see synergies with Sensei's Divining Top (be sure of what you will exile).
Yup. AKH is when I will be revisiting my deck and tuning it again.
I detuned it because people got tired of being Koziwrecked, but now there's a lot more combo around...
Plus I just picked up this new toy. (The Wasteland will replace the EMA one I have until I can get a promo one)
Like to see I am not the only one to like that new card.
I just want to tell a quick thing about Paradox Engine though... What about all that ban thing? I mean, yesit is quite strong in an OPTIMIZED, COMPETITIVE deck because of all the rocks and dorks... But I mean, I have not seen it a lot on T/O in casual decks, and the banlist is oriented at casual play... And I don't see a lot of discussion coming from casual groups about this card... So I don't see it being ban already, I think we are safe. Just stop complaining about it possibly being ban... It might never happen.

I can't help but fear a ban coming. Every deck in my meta runs it and as soon as it hits the field the results are so overpowered it's hard to believe it's not happening everywhere else. I hope I'm wrong, I really do because the Engine is one of the best cards in our arsenal as far as I'm concerned.
I have an example among others for a counterargument: Every competitive black list plays Ad Nauseam, and we know how it's overpowered. And still unbanned.

To me the difference is there's no downside to Paradox Engine; you're not playing a suicide build to make it work. And there are several archetypes using the engine for degeneracy. I think it will be banned, but that's neither here nor there. It clearly works very well with Kozi, and truth be told it's only because of Kozi that I hope it doesn't. Using it with Sisay or Selvala or Breya it's all degeneracy - at least here it's only used for a good, old-fashioned eldrazi smackdown.
I was counting today and noticed I was at 99 cards... I've added a Wastes for now but can anyone see what I'm missing? (Yes, the landbase isn't great - I'm going to revisit it soon)
I did some cross referencing but nothing jumped out at me. I was wondering is someone could see something that I couldn't after staring at lists for hours.

I'm very confused.
What are you asking us to compare it to? The main list on page 1 of this board? If you're just trying to copy this decklist over to tappedout why not just quote the original post (so it appears in the posting textbox in raw form), copy and paste?
You have 100 cards in that tappedout list. 99 in the main deck + 1 commander. It doesn't look like anything is missing...

Just in general - anything that would normally go in a Kozilek list that isn't there.
2. You have 100 cards in that tappedout list. 99 in the main deck + 1 commander. It doesn't look like anything is missing...
Right - because as I said I added a Wastes to make it 100 so I didn't have to mark it as prototype in tappedout.

That's not all the differences, that's just cards from the main kozi list that have done a ton of work for me and you aren't playing. You're welcome to pick one although obviously you've made a lot of your own choices so I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to help you figure out exactly what card you liked that somehow got left off the list.

[EDH] Rafiq of the Many
[EDH]Chainer, Dementia Master
[EDH] Maelstrom Wanderer
I'm very confused.
Just in general - anything that would normally go in a Kozilek list that isn't there.
Right - because as I said I added a Wastes to make it 100 so I didn't have to mark it as prototype in tappedout.
Um, ok, well artifacts -
Lands -
Creatures -
That's not all the differences, that's just cards from the main kozi list that have done a ton of work for me and you aren't playing. You're welcome to pick one although obviously you've made a lot of your own choices so I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to help you figure out exactly what card you liked that somehow got left off the list.
