I've had two games where staff and metal worker just was an instant win
Dear sweet baby Jeebus.
I picked up Staff of Domination for Kozilek and oh my words. I went infinite, and just turned into a Kozi Sac engine. Drew into Greaves, Boots, Prototype Portal and Ugin's Nexus. Hastey Kozi and Infinite Turns. This combo works, and gave so much speed to my deck. I know OP is a non-combo, but this one just works. I also run Reliquary Tower and Thought Vessel so having half my deck in my hand is a non issue.
Played Conscription, and ended up having to sac Kozi. Have not yet had the opportunity to play Emrakul.

Hey guys!
I can have 50$ for a new Commander Deck and am thinking of trying somethin crazy ELdrazi...is there any chance 50 bucks will get the deck started so that it can atleast be played against Swell the Host (Commander, 2015, Ezuri) whch has 20$ of Upgrades?
You're going to miss out on pretty much all the legendary Eldrazi except maybe Kozilek, the Great Distortion on that slim a budget. And it's probably not going to be an artifact-shenanigans deck considering what I had to cut to get anywhere near $50 (and that was 32 cards I cut). It sounds like an interesting challenge, because $20 goes pretty far with Ezuri. You'll have to rely on Wastes more and Walker of the Wastes would replace one of the other beatdown creatures. Also not having some of the better mana rocks on the budget (like Thran Dynamo) means a much later Kozilek.
While it might be possible, if I were to try to make a $50 budget deck to go up against an improved Ezuri, Claw of Progress deck, colorless is probably not where I would start. However, if you succeed, we want to see the list!
I think the first and foremost question would be: Of the cards in the main decklist already, which ones do you already own? Especially pricey ones like the Eldrazi legends and colorless planeswalkers.
Has anyone played Su-Chi in the deck? I got my hands on one today and I'm not sure whether to add it to my Prossh list or to my Kozilek deck. The thing is, Kozi doesn't have many sac outlets, and to be honest, I fear it will be a dead card if no sac outlets are in play.
Looks like Conspiracy 2 doesn't have much to offer for Kozilek. Only new card to consider is Throne of the High City, but between the high cost of 4 to activate, the difficulty our deck would have at maintaining or getting back the monarchy, and our general dislike of giving up our mana sources unless for a very good reason... This just doesn't seem good for us.
I guess we have Rogue's Passage with the new colorless symbol, for those who care about that sort of thing.
But other than that, looks like a fun set to draft with a surprising amount of value, compared to the last conspiracy set.
Hello guys and gals, long time since i've posted anything here.
I think i mentioned in my other posts that i've switched to the new Kozilek and games are more fun i should say.
Its still kind of opressive for my opponents but it isn't as horrible as a hasty Butcher on turn 3-4, plus i love the
Blazing Shoal ability, its so fun being a colorless control deck. Been tinkering with it just a bit but its pretty
good as a some what lockdown deck. I don't have the most horrible pieces but its been fun
Anyhow, i want to post my current list and would like to hear your opinions on it.
Don't know how many wastes you guys run but i find it really difficult to fit x amount of wastes in the deck but
i've managed to keep it to 1 so far, and it sucks to find fullart foiled Wastes for a somewhat ok penny.
Yes, there's like only 2 boardwipes but i don't feel like nuking my own board, not with a deck like this where manarocks and boardpresence is a and o (imo)
This is wayyyyyyyy better than Ring of Three Wishes or Planar Portal, because 1) it has other uses (some light lifegain is always nice to see coming) 2) it doesn't take a card slot for being a land 3) it enters the battlefield untapped and can produce mana. I mean, this is an auto include. What would you remove from the deck for it?
So far not liking any of the mechanics for Kozilek and friends. It makes me think of Kozilek wearing a fez and driving around in a tiny car. There's really not much in the way for mechanically ideal settings. There will be of course some great cards potential, but it will be selective.

We are only 1/3rd of the way through spoilers, and still a month away from release. but I am already buying a booster box. So much that I want to do with this.
My two cent's on Inventors' fair - I will run it. I do not even have Crucible of worlds and I want to run this. The more I build my land base, the more I understand that I need to pick up a crucible...
I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. I feel like the best pieces and cards have not even been revealed yet. Just so much good stuff and cheeky shenanigans about to ensue.

I am R and U. I am both emotional and rational, valuing logic but following my gut when appropriate. At my best, I am intuitive and creative. At my worst, I am scattered and unpredictable.
The one I'm mad excited about is key to the city: 2 mana so our cost reducers bring it down to 1 or even none. It goes crazy with clock of omens and kozilek fuels the tap ability when you draw 4, which rogue's passage's for the cost of one of them. If you have Crucible of Worlds out you just discard your lands and play them anyway, or throw Ulamog to reset your graveyard.
The only problem is I have no idea what to take out for it!
Yeah, the synergy with Clock is amazing. Unsure if that warrants a spot in the deck though,.. As having it without the clock makes it not even averagely good.
I'm actually looking at Ghirapur Orrery,.. First time I looked at it I whiffed and snorted and thought to myself it stinked.
However, looking at it a second time,.. when adding this to the deck, a rock or two more, a bit less control a bit more bang, maybe adding in Sandstone Oracle, could give us a very stable early, something that got worse lately due to the new Mulligan rule.
Maybe add Null Brooch if you need a discard outlet + a way of countering stuff?
(and if i may ask, could you take a look at the decklist i posted like, two weeks ago on page 77? A tips or two what you think about the deck etc? WOuld be awesome if you could )

Sure man, I glanced it before but I'll review it for you.
Overall the list looks good albeit a few weird inclusions.
Akroma's Memorial: It gets increasingly less useful when you're playing the new Kozilek, I would even find it to be in your way when it's clogged in your hand when your Kozilek triggers. I would cut this.
I know you're going for a more control-list, but Platinum Emperion is straight out the weakest link here. He isn't handy at all and when you want to ramping into Newzilek early, he'll clog up your hand because you really, really don't have a need of ramping into him before you cast Kozi.
I've been testing Thought-Knot Seer as well, he's been great in my list, glad to see you include him.
An inclusion you could add is Sandstone Oracle, I've only been testing him occasionaly but he seems better in a list like yours.
If you want to go in-depth about it you're going to need to explain a few more things.
What's the general direction of the deck? Do you want even more control? Maybe try a more stax approach with newzilek? Just straight out having fun with the new Kozilek?
A last note would be, Wastes and the inclusion of solemn is pretty nice in my meta, where Ruination and Back to basics are common, but if that's not present in yours, don't even bother. Utility for the win!

Akroma's Memorial is there mostly for the combowin with inf mana and untaps to produce a bunch of tokens or just for value since there's ALOT of black in my meta but i see your point. Oh and its an old inclusion from my Karn list which was more comboheavy with tokens and infmana.
I can cut Platinum Emperion, it did do its job two weeks ago, they couldn't kill me because it was out on the field.
I really like Thought-Knot Seer, you can cast him early through a Temple etc. and during some form of lockdown or just strip whatever wincon or combopiece a player has tutored for. Not only that, if it dies you can help out a person which has a low impact on the game. This helps you being a buddy irl as well; a wink and say, you get the card!
Im gonna get a Sandstone Oracle, seems like a better card than Memorial or Empyrion. If you got it in the red deck i should have it.
The general direction has basicly been: Trading out old kozilek for the new one since people stopped playing against me and every decision was met with a: Ok, if i do this that person will rage and everything will get awkward. I kinda love stax just because its something thats not usually present in EDH games except for a Gravepact lock or some form of Kormus Bell interaction. And countering spells with newzilek is a JOY! Instead of being a Butcher i can just say no to certain spells like a God denying someone their only way of survival, which is pretty fun. Like countering a Chrome Moxby discarding a land card so he can't make the play they needed to do.
I've been thinking of Wastes and Solemn, for sure! Problem is i don't know what to cut and those cards aren't really a part of my meta atm. Then again the deck is pretty powerful and those are some of the strategies to stop it.
I do recommend Newzilek, he's nicer and more fun in certain ways.
But i kinda like where the deck is going atm! Thank you for the feedback, it means alot!
With the entire set spoiled, I figured it's a good time to review the set in the context of Kozilek. Let me know if I missed anything noteworthy.
Top 5 Cards of Interest Inventors' Fair – Fantastic, auto-include. If you have nothing else going, you can slowly assemble a win-con on the back of this card and crucible of worlds. Or go infinite if you already have a part of a combo. (Rings of Brighthearth/Basalt Monolith or Metalworker/Staff of Domination) Metalwork Colossus – Seems like it was made for us. For that reason I WILL playtest this. Do we really need a vanilla 10/10? I don’t know, but it doesn’t even take a miracle hand to be attacking with this card on turn 2, with the sheer amount of non-creature artifacts we run. Foundry Inspector – I want to like this one, but I’m dubious. Dies to everything, doesn’t make Kozilek cheaper, but could help you assemble your machine much faster. Worthy of playtesting? Ghirapur Orrery – With all the top end stuff I’ve been cutting lately, I’ve seen my hand empty our quickly. If anything, the last cards left in my hand are lands, and this helps you play those. It’s a neat group hug-ish card that could be a good way to draw cards. Although if you’re stuck with a New Ulamog or New Emrakul in hand and you don’t even have enough to cast Kozilek… This is just a 4 mana card that does something worse than nothing. I need to run Loreseeker's Stone again before looking at this card. (Why did I ever take that card out to begin with?) Key to the City – With Clock of Omens, it's 2, tap an artifact: Draw a card. Also plays nicely with Tangle Wire. Otherwise, spending a card to gain the ability to slowly cycle your hand isn't great. (And you have to commit mana on the following turn, before drawing a card) I think Scroll Rack may be the better card, and I'm not playing that at the moment.
Other interesting cards Sequestered Stash – Initial thought was auto-include, but perhaps requires playtesting. A little slow with no guarantee for a good payoff. Watch out for milling old Ulamog. I misread this, putting it in my top 5, thinking it added the card to your hand. I don't think we have time for a slow card that gives card disadvantage. Skysovereign, Consul Flagship – Without a Crew it’s just 3 damage for 5 mana. There are ways we can get a Crew, like some of the non-legendary eldrazi, but payout doesn't seem worth the risk of dead weight. Cultivator's Caravan – A fairly painless inclusion, but in reality something like Magnifying Glass is probably more valuable to us. Or even Darksteel Ingot. We just really don’t have much use for a 5/5 that requires Crew 3. Aetherworks Marvel – Love the ability, but assembling the energy is just not something we’re set up to do easily or consistently. Deadlock Trap – Interesting, but not good enough. We use unfair cards to slow down our opponents, like Winter Orb and Tangle Wire. This card is fair. Self-Assembler – Maybe someday? No interesting targets currently. Aetherflux Reservoir – Very cute, but we’re not built to abuse this. Animation Module – For counter abuse, try Contagion Engine/Clasp. If you could reliably generate Servos, could be interesting combined with Krark-Clan Ironworks/Ashnod’s Altar/Skullclamp/Clock of Omens, etc. Decoction Module – If we cared about Energy, could be worth thinking about. Erratic Portal is better otherwise. Filigree Familiar – Probably not good enough. Solemn Simulacrum makes the cut because of the land ramp, while this only replaces itself.
I am technically Quoting The_Chort, and simply adding my two cents
Top 5 Cards of Interest Inventors' Fair – I agree with your assessment, and absolutely feel that this is an auto-include. We run too many artifacts not to. Metalwork Colossus – I am currently running Ulamog, Ulamog 2.0, Kozilek 2.0, Emrakul 2.0, and Blightsteel as my fatties. I do not think the build can support another Colossus at the top *unless* playtesting shows that dropping a 10/10 turn 2/3 is fairly consistent. Foundry Inspector – I do like this card as well. Unfortunately, I am in the same boat as you, that given it's a creature, it has a body and can be killed, more than likely before his full on use is realized. And we do run Sembalance Anvil, but it's just having the reduction on the body that worries me. Ghirapur Orrery – I too find my hand with two or three lands, and I'm trying to dump them quickly. I do not believe that a Ulamog in hand is a bad thing, but that also depends on where the game is at and if he can be cast. Key to the City – At first glance looks good, but definately requires (I think) too much investment.
Other interesting cards Sequestered Stash – Yep, too slow, and with so very few ways to recur artifacts in this deck, not a fan. Skysovereign, Consul Flagship – Dead weight indeed Cultivator's Caravan – it is a one of any color for three, and we can choose to give it a body, but would you really want to? Aetherworks Marvel – Love the ability, but assembling the energy is just not something we’re set up to do easily or consistently. (Agreed) Deadlock Trap – Interesting, but not good enough. Again, agreed, and the whole energy thing again... Self-Assembler – Maybe someday? Sorry, but this is a nope. Aetherflux Reservoir – Very cute, but we’re not built to abuse this. (Agreed) Animation Module – For counter abuse, try Contagion Engine/Clasp. If you could reliably generate Servos, could be interesting combined with Krark-Clan Ironworks/Ashnod’s Altar/Skullclamp/Clock of Omens, etc. (*cough*we don't use counters *cough*) Decoction Module – If we cared about Energy, could be worth thinking about. Erratic Portal is better otherwise. (Relavent Truth) Filigree Familiar – Probably not good enough. (You would be right)
I really feel compelled to say that I feel Perpetual Timepiece deserves some playtesting. With Sensei's Divining Top you check the top three with top's first ability. Put the crap/unwanted cards on top two, pitch them, draw with top, and repeat as needed to cycle through the deck a little bit more quickly. Then you run into original ulamog, and if you don't need him, pitch him to shuffle your graveyard back into your library. Rinse, repeat. Sometimes you may need Ulamog, then you just top him. Otherwise, it provides (to a small degree) the ability to cycle through our decks a bit if we are slow going to Kozilek.
I love artifacts. I am rebuilding Daretti, Scrap Savant, and I run Kozilek, Muzzio, and Sharuum the Hegemon. I LOVE artifacts, and easily foresee me hunting down at least one copy of EACH of these that I want. Love these reprints. Recommend picking them up and cherishing them.

Ok, so nothing happened for quite some time on the thread now... I am curious if some of you played some of the new cards we mentionned earlier? If you did, did you had some great results? Juwdah, I saw on an earlier post you were testing some cards, what does your decklist looks like at the moment?

In my play tests, so far that card that is the weakest is the new Kozilek. It appears that the more I play around him, the less impactful he is. I tested Metalwork Colossus in my Muzzio, Visionary Architect and he did WORK. For 2 mana and Mirrorworks on the board, you get two 10/10 beaters. And for as many artifacts we run, he should never cost us a thing. Otherwise, Key to the City helps with the likes of Clock of Omens for untapping. I am thinking of adding an Icy Manipulator to help tweak out Winter Orb, and it would help the Key as well. There are some very interesting other synergy pieces. I also like Filigree Familiar and am thinking of adding him in somewhere.
I also run most spells and counters, well, what's available in colorless. I'm open to further thoughts and interpretations. Otherwise, I'm just not feeling as much as I thought would be useful here. More helpful stuff for Daretti and Muzzio, truth be told.
Oh magic gods - please give us a red/blue artificer!

Keep in mind that with that line, you're spending two turns in a row trying to go up the value chain since you're not playing more than one land a turn. In a deck that's not built just to value, it's good but it's not a grand slam.
It's also not better than planar portal. They are different cards. Keep in mind that Planar Portal will tutor the entire deck once it gets going plus it gets colorless non artifact Eldrazi.
Got Rings of Brighthearth? Tutor Basalt Monolith in a pinch.
Got tokens and Doubling Cube / Krark-Clan Ironworks? Tutor Clock of Omens
The Crucible slowball tactic is nice for when you're blown out and got nothing else to go for.
[Primer] Kozilek, Butcher with Juice.
This land will be a good inclusion in the deck because it is a good tutor, and it will help us get the artifacts we need on time.
Kaladesh is getting me quite excited. A red/Blue Planeswalker for Artifacts? I've only been asking for this since I found out that Ral Zarek was Red/Blue, and a horrible let down. Dack Fayden is cool, but he just steals artifacts, not as nice as grabbing three artifacts out.

Aetherworks Marvel - I really like this card, as it gives a Muzzio, Visionary Architect or Mayael, The Anima type effect to the deck. With some of our card shifting slightly, I feel that there is room here.
Decoction Module - To help with the above, being able to place something back into our hand and replay it is killer. Think Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger for removal, Conduit of Ruin for more big beater tutors. I am sure that there are others, those just spring to mind.
Ghirapur Orrery - We all know that ramping in colorless is vital. We also know that card draw is vital. I feel that this is small enough and cheap enough to help us out if getting to Kozilek is being problematic.
Panharmonicon - I get that on the surface, there is not much that this does. I am including it because I am waiting to see what else comes out.
Not 100% sold, but, maybe.
[Primer] Kozilek, Butcher with Juice.
(and if i may ask, could you take a look at the decklist i posted like, two weeks ago on page 77? A tips or two what you think about the deck etc? WOuld be awesome if you could )

My most played EDH deck:
X Kozilek, the Great Distortion
UBR Nekusar, the Mindrazer
Mana Crypt reprint (again) for those who don't have one yet.

So many goodies. These better have subtle foils..

Thanks man! I appreciate it!
Im thinking of adding Ward of Bones, Sandstone Oracle and Farsight Mask(i think it can be good...) or else Codex Shredder? Bring down the Curve a bit and some stax elements.
However there's Erratic Portalwhich works great with Newzilek.
I've also thought about Loxodon Warhammer but i don't know...

UBR Nekusar, the Mindrazer
Top 5 Cards of Interest
Inventors' Fair – Fantastic, auto-include. If you have nothing else going, you can slowly assemble a win-con on the back of this card and crucible of worlds. Or go infinite if you already have a part of a combo. (Rings of Brighthearth/Basalt Monolith or Metalworker/Staff of Domination)
Metalwork Colossus – Seems like it was made for us.
(Why did I ever take that card out to begin with?)
Key to the City – With Clock of Omens, it's 2, tap an artifact: Draw a card. Also plays nicely with Tangle Wire. Otherwise, spending a card to gain the ability to slowly cycle your hand isn't great. (And you have to commit mana on the following turn, before drawing a card) I think Scroll Rack may be the better card, and I'm not playing that at the moment.
Other interesting cards
Sequestered Stash – Initial thought was auto-include, but perhaps requires playtesting.
Honorable Mentions
Perpetual Timepiece, Multiform Wonder, Fabrication Module, Smuggler's Copter, Electrostatic Pummeler, Panharmonicon, Aether Hub
Edit: These cards are okay in our deck too...
Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Sol Ring, Crucible of Worlds, Sculpting Steel, Rings of Brighthearth, Mox Opal, Solemn Simulacrum, Lightning Greaves, Mind's Eye, Chromatic Lantern
And these aren't the worst...
Hangarback Walker, Scroll Rack, Lotus Petal
Top 5 Cards of Interest
Inventors' Fair – I agree with your assessment, and absolutely feel that this is an auto-include.
Other interesting cards
Sequestered Stash – Yep, too slow, and with so very few ways to recur artifacts in this deck, not a fan.
Skysovereign, Consul Flagship – Dead weight indeed
Cultivator's Caravan – it is a one of any color for three, and we can choose to give it a body, but would you really want to?
Aetherworks Marvel – Love the ability, but assembling the energy is just not something we’re set up to do easily or consistently. (Agreed)
Deadlock Trap – Interesting, but not good enough. Again, agreed, and the whole energy thing again...
Self-Assembler – Maybe someday? Sorry, but this is a nope.
Aetherflux Reservoir – Very cute, but we’re not built to abuse this. (Agreed)
Animation Module – For counter abuse, try Contagion Engine/Clasp. If you could reliably generate Servos, could be interesting combined with Krark-Clan Ironworks/Ashnod’s Altar/Skullclamp/Clock of Omens, etc. (*cough*we don't use counters *cough*)
Decoction Module – If we cared about Energy, could be worth thinking about. Erratic Portal is better otherwise. (Relavent Truth)
Filigree Familiar – Probably not good enough. (You would be right)
Honorable Mentions
Perpetual Timepiece, Multiform Wonder, Fabrication Module, Smuggler's Copter, Electrostatic Pummeler, Panharmonicon, Aether Hub
Edit: These cards are okay in our deck too...
Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Sol Ring, Crucible of Worlds, Sculpting Steel, Rings of Brighthearth, Mox Opal, Solemn Simulacrum, Lightning Greaves, Mind's Eye, Chromatic Lantern
And these aren't the worst...
Hangarback Walker, Scroll Rack, Lotus Petal
I love artifacts. I am rebuilding Daretti, Scrap Savant, and I run Kozilek, Muzzio, and Sharuum the Hegemon. I LOVE artifacts, and easily foresee me hunting down at least one copy of EACH of these that I want. Love these reprints. Recommend picking them up and cherishing them.
