At first glance, it looks fun and solid. I like the sliver package. I'm curious about how Brood Sliver is working out for you, how often do you get to spawn more tokens?
I'd try and use something other than checklands. You have only 6 basic lands. If they're going to come into play tapped, you might as well profit from that. Say, try scrylands instead.
Fun fact - I didn't have In Garruk's Wake on the useful card list. I'm fixing that mistake now.
Last night's spoiler brought two more additions to the Swarm: Bladeback Sliver and Enduring Sliver. They are interesting, but not game breaking as some other things we've seen thus far - outlast is too intensive a mana ability to have in a deck that's already starved for resources (I like to say that if you find yourself having too much mana to spend then you're not playing slivers to the hilt), and to take advantage of hellbent you need to deprive yourself of having tricks, answers or mid-term plans in hand.
MTG SALVATION IS SHUTTING DOWN.. This is very sad.. I really enjoyed chatting about this deck here.. Better get our last few comments in before the shut down date.. Sad day for the silver hive
*The Queen cries out in dismay, causing her assembled children around her to shriek and chitter in confusion and fear*
A very sad day it is indeed.
Only thing that comes to mind to carry on as a servant of the Hive is to build a Facebook group, but it's way too narrow of an interest IMHO... there's a ton of EDH groups there. An alternative would be to migrate to another site, say, for instance, TappedOut.net.
I'm only the janitor here. The primer was built from bits of advice and suggestions from a lot of different people. It belongs to you.
So if you think it's a good idea, this is the time to say so.

MTG SALVATION is shutting down? Well, it has been a great time here in this thread, for the last 4 years since I registered and even before without an account. I will follow this thread and CruxMDQ to whatever corner of the web XD.
As a player of the EDH Hive since I can't even remember when I started, I would like to share my list here even if it would be lose in a couple of months, cause it's something I ever wanted but never did.
My deck has evolved (and it will continue doing it), I tried docens of cards, and I like to change from time to time, so this list is not permanent. The games I enjoy the most are those in which every player can show a bit the strong points of them decks, so I don't like mass removals or combos. My deck is focused in adapt my slivers to the threads of the other decks, being some kind of archenemy that will devour everything if ignored for too long, and I get a great performance on survive to near any kind of hate with the years. The usual plan is to play Quick Sliver as fast as possible to be able to react any kind of thread (other advantages are that my turns are really shorts, doing the game more agile for everyone). Others slots of the decks are slivers to adapt most common removals on my meta, every one of then has a purpose. What I enjoy the most of Overlord is to adapt my powerlevel to the other decks. If they are begginers, don't fetch slivers at all, fetch non-optimal ones or change the Overlord for Queen, Legion or Hivelord. Versus more competive decks, fetch for all the power of the hive.
I could write a wall of test about each card, sinergies and how to adapt in multiple scenarios, but I think EDH is (or should be) a causal format, so I leave to each one to explore them own ways. The deck is not a top tier one, more like a powerful casual level I think. I keep normally losing when Cyclonic rift or Expropriate with no counter in hand, but it's always fun to play.
I tested The First Sliver as commander the other day, and man! it's sweet. Not particularly strong in my deck as commander cause I run mainly 2 cmc slivers, but even 2x1 in casting sliver is nice. I hope their price don't go to the sky.

Feel free to do it. I'm migrating the whole list of useful cards we've gathered over the years to my TappedOut decklist. Once I'm done I'm recreating the primer proper there. I know what I said about waiting and seeing what the new site is all about, but it won't hurt having it there too.
Whatever you guys want to contribute, get cracking.
Today's spoilers bring us:
- First Sliver's Chosen. Quite good IMHO - we're often confronted with the choice of using our slivers to attack or tapping them for resources, and having this on the board means we can use them both ways more efficiently.
- Lancer Sliver. Rather meh. We have tons of ways to get first strike already, most of them cheaper than this one. Not better than Striking Sliver.
- Cleaving Sliver. Another one we've seen before. It's nice, but there are better things around.
Unsettled Mariner has been brought to my attention: it is not exactly a sliver, but it benefits from all their buffs - and it shields all your permanents. Furthermore, it makes Diffusion Sliver more viable as well.
And, while not a creature, an honorary mention: Return from Extinction. If anything, I read into this a message from WotC: the slivers will not be abandoned. Let us rejoice, brothers and sisters!
I play mostly with my brothers, rarely get to go to the LGS. Hence, in my usual playgroup they hate more other slivers, like flying.. and I build my manabase and throw him down alone, then quietly start building the hive one sliver at a time. Then one of two things usually happen: I get down a good sliver and get a lot of value of it (synapse, lifelink, gemstone and a bomb), even if they get wiped out the next turn or they use a boardwipe on him after he gets 3-4 slivers and I lay down the hammer next turn casting the ones I had so far. Once only him, one token and the Overlord won when I atacked and casted triumph of the hordes. In big tables at my LGS he was far less successful and he wll leave to make room for the First Sliver probably.
So I just saw The First Sliver and realized I really wanted a sliver EDH deck as Slivers was the first deck I built. I've got a ton of nostalgia for them and a ton of them lying around. Here's just what I scrapped together recently.
I'm pretty aware some of the sliver choices are sub-optimal and the mana base is baaaad. My goal is to make a deck that is tries to take out the table via combat damage, so not a hyper competitive combo monstrosity. I also want to run Primal Surge as a way to more efficiently make this happen, so that and Patriarch's Bidding are the only non-permanents I plan on running.
I'm just worried about running out of gas (although The First Sliver being my general should help out there), and not really having much removal at all. I was wondering if you had any recommendations in those areas?

Two things jumped to mind: Recycle, and its dark twin, Null Profusion. Back in the days of the Tempest and Urza's Saga cycles, when I was just getting acquainted with Magic, a combo of the then-Standard environment paired Recycle with Aluren to literally play your entire deck. Alternative on the same vein, but less combo-rrific, would be Descendants' Path and Wild Pair.
If you're going to pack them, you should play stuff that lets you tutor or outright play enchantments off your library - say, for instance, Academy Rector.
Edited my list to add Modern Horizons stuff. Click on the link in my signature.

My buddy got a box and got both. Traded a few Legacy staples for them. Luckily price has already come down a TON on Horizons singles.
First game last night, Dormant Sliver and Sylvan Library come out early, draw into The First Sliver, cascade into Wrath, return all Slivers to hand in response, Wrath resolves, TFS resolves. Go on to combo off. Infinite Sliver ETB triggers on Lavabelly.

Oddly, never cascaded into another Sliver like I hoped. Didn't get to live the 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1 cascade... One day!

With the new Slivers coming out, I decided to finally join the Hive by buying my cousin's Sliver Overlord deck that they built ~5-6 years ago, but didn't play or update since M15. I've loved the concept of Slivers since I started playing back in 2010, so I'm excited to finally be playing them.
However, I'm not really sure on what direction to take the deck yet in regards to what Slivers get to make the cut. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the Queen or Sliver Legion. I wasn't really planning on a combo focus, so not having Queen isn't the worst, but not having Legion makes me worried about how I'll be able to close out games. Do you think that since I don't have Legion I should have a higher density of static P/T raising Slivers? Or maybe I should focus more on the toolbox aspect of the deck rather than the size of my Slivers?
Also, not sure if these have been suggested yet, but I didn't see them in the useful cards section: Creeping Renaissance and Faith's Reward for recovering from board wipes.

I think Herald's Horn is still probably better.

I agree. Ability is free, and you can still abuse it via Top, Mirri's Guile and any other shenanigans.
What do you think of Lotus Field?
[Horde] Phyrexia ascendant - The Virus
WUBRG - [Primer] Sliver Overlord - The Swarm - WUBRG
Not a huge fan. You can stifle it if you are so inclined.

Regarding no Sliver Legion, you can try Coat of Arms as a substitute.
