@Crux Thank you for your support, it means alot from someone who's put this much work into slivers
On average I end up playing about 5 games a day, and with each one I'm making notes on how they went and what I would have liked to have had in hand or in the deck. Today I played against a 5c token deck and, well...not good lol. Pretty much guaranteed to have less creatures than them and due to having so many token generators it made mass wipes a mute point. Possibly looking at taking more slivers out in favor of control options, or even trying to add a different base of sliver/creatures. Will play tomorrow with the updated list tomorrow and post results.

Speaking of Karametra, God of Harvests: listing her as a thrall is bound to incense her worshipers. The means by which a species as alien to religion as slivers would secure her aid are lost on me, but the end results of her auspices are not. Each creature you put on the battlefield fetches you either a forest or a plains. Read again: each one. This includes the offspring of the Sliver Queen.
sorry sir but its every time you "CAST" a creature not when a creature comes into play?
I haven't read through the entire thread, but has there been a discussion as to whether the toolbox aspect of Sliver Overlord or the durability of Sliver Hivelord leans to a more successful deck in a semi-competitive (not cutthroat) meta... or any discussion in general?

I haven't tried Hivelord yet. Sadly I don't play very often anymore.
From my point of view, I like the Overlord's ability to be a toolbox. I do see the allure of super slivers a bit quicker, but I feel if you use Hivelord as a general you need to up tutor count to get homing sliver, and up your sliver count to use with homing sliver. This way you can tutor for the slivers you need. Namely Crystalline and other pumping slivers. Problem is you then have to cut quite a few cards in the build.

Now, I currently only have Blood Crypt and Steam Vents, but plan on acquiring the other 8 to possibly replace the shardlands and a few basics. I also hope the find a reasonably priced Sliver Queen and All Is Dust to go with the Ghostflame Sliver I have but is currently seemingly useless in this build. Possibly Demonic Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Mystical Tutor, and possibly Vampiric Tutor if I can find a decently priced copy. Maybe also Skyshroud Claim once I get the rest of the shocklands, I don't want to put it in now and just be searching for basic forests when I might need other colors.
Any other ideas?
EDIT: I should add that at this point, I don't want to put TOO much more money into the deck.

Danz has noted the problem of Hivelord. One guy around here put together a list abundant on spot removal and packing a few counterspells that relied on it for a commander. At first glance, I can think of an approach that would abuse the Hivelord's signature ability to spam away boardwipes and nuke the table every other turn, save for your own terrors... but it would need to ship tons of tutors for flexibility. And it would be significantly more vulnerable to disruption than what an Overlord-based build already is. Hinder or Hallowed Burial would instantly hamstring the deck. You can certainly plan around those issues; I envision the end result would be something distantly similar to the control-combo list I've posted - lots of countermeasures of all kinds.
EDIT: @melzer1986: you definitely are going to need the tutors you've listed. I would advice you to cut Harsh Mercy without second thoughts: awesome on paper, but it has consistently failed to inflict much pain whenever I cast it. Think of it this way - as you would choose your whole swarm, so would everyone else pick the type of the most useful creatures they have in play. End result, you only remove from play stuff that's already been considered expendable.
Agreed about Harsh Mercy. Just doesn't work like you would think.

Dang, this deck looks like a lot of fun. The best part about it? It can be built competitively on a budget. Ramp, draw, and tutors can all be assembled at a low dollar cost.
Ive been wanting to build a 5 color deck as well but was worried about how I could afford the mana base. Looks like this list more or less solves that problem as well with being able to tutor for Gemhide Sliver and Manaweft Sliver among other things.
Competitive tribal decks always make me smile. I think I'll be putting this together soon

Duals, Shocks, and Fetches are unfortunately very important to this deck.
Gemhide and Manaweft are good mana fixers, but often get killed quickly. You need 5 colors pretty early on to succeed.

I pulled a Hivelord and Hive out of my m15 box and decided it was sign to build a sliver EDH deck. I just read a bunch of this thread and wanted to share my observations if not an actual decklist yet. I have only played two games with my sliver deck so I want to wait to post a decklist.
Observation #1 psionic sliver is a massive bomb with hivelord. Best sliver from my perspective so far.
Observation #2 A cheap mana base is not all that detrimental. I ran all ten guildgates (and mazes end of course) and all 5 Alara 3 color tap lands. Combined with one of each basic, some fetch and chromatic lantern I rarely had problems. I did have some pricier stuff like seven shocks and six 5 color lands including stuff like city of brass, command tower, and the new hive land. I don't think you need zendikar fetches or abur duals to run this deck at all. I rarely needed the shocks to drop untapped either. Spend 25 bucks on land and you're off to the races!

Yes, you can play it with CIPT lands, but you lose mana for a turn every time you play one.
You also run the risk of having the mana color you have needed for 3 turns getting drawn and not being able to use it until next turn. That can stall a deck big time, especially with 5 colors.
I usually have 6 mana or more, 1 of each color, untapped by turn 5. It makes a big difference.

There's bumps in the road that fetches and ABUR duals eliminate, no doubt about that. I just don't think having the pimped duals is a requirement of the deck. Or not having them is a reason not to try to build the deck. I got that impression from some of the previous posts is all.
Full disclosure: no one in my regular playgroup has any ABUR duals or fetches. Moxen, yes, but fortunately those are banned.
@Adroitmind: I've played enough matches with the aggro list to say that the aggro part of that build is heavily dependent on having the most efficient mana base you can build. When that plan fails -and it can, for any number of reasons, too hostile an environment and poor draws being just two possible ones-, my current build reverts to a midrange deck. I hazard that a midrange strategy would be the default plan when using a budget mana base, because many commanders with two colors or less have more efficient ramp and acceleration shenanigans than you. I'm far from being the brightest bulb in the box when it comes to Magic, but in my own modest experience a reasonably fast aggro plan demands an expensive resource base, and even then you're going to come up short against most monocolored generals specialized in aggresive strategies. That's mostly what Danz means; you simply can't afford losing a mana every turn to CIPT lands and the like if you want to outrace the enemy.
This is the current deck list I have. The are some cards for redundancy in the deck. Was wondering what could be cut or changed to make the deck more effective? The are multiple combos in there, with some searches, you can also voltron or aggro for the win. For early game, since the manabase is all non basics, I use a lot of mana rocks and enchantments for ramp, that opens you to potentially a lot of hate but it also allows you play land destruction while affecting yourself minimally, especially if you have Manaweft or Crucible of Worlds out. The problem I find is that if I fail to disrupt the tempo of my opponents early game I often find myself out raced barring that I draw into a sweet combo.
@MikeTheCardSculptor: given your picks, without playing it, I can't be sure about what to replace... seems cutthroat enough already, you have all the good pieces in place. I particularly liked Gaddock Teeg and Stranglehold. Just how cruel is your meta, I wonder, for you to ship Winter Orb? If there's a card that paints a bullseye over its caster, that's it.
What has been your experience with Bloom Tender? I myself had to cut it because it was always a juicy target for whatever spot removal my opponents had on their hands.
It's slightly more competitive cause my local magic shop runs a weekly edh night for prizes and being the sliver player you get focused regardless so might as well give them what they expect. With bloom tender, I'd say it's worth it with the right pieces to work with it. Sliver overlord, bloomtender and intruder alarm is an easy win and not too hard to assemble. Winter orb is brutal if you get prophet of kruphix out, you could probably assemble your combo by the time it's your turn again, so if they wanna kill you they have to do it fast. I added in leyline of the void currently, I find mono black sacrifice recursion to be the most problematic deck to deal with and put in helm of obedience just to be a jerk xD, took out fury sliver and armegeddon.
For land base I'm really rethinking ruptured spire and transguild promenade, I found myself not playing them a couple of times because I needed the mana.
All cards banned in Vintage are banned in Commander.
"Commander is played with vintage legal cards,..."
That is a quote from rule 7 of Deck construction found on mtgcommander.net
Although Gatherer lists the card as legal in Commander this is probably an oversight. Sheldon said in his set review that all Conspiracies are banned. I can't find a link for it right now though.
Now this is weird stuff. Worldknit is listed as banned on magiccards.info, BUT is listed as legal on gatherer.wizards.com. First time I find a discrepancy.
After that search, I'm inclined to go with Roocketman on this one, though I believe that it would cause a stir on almost any pod where I brought this card up. I'll get myself one, just in case...
So, in a more Sliver-Specific direction... What would be the 100% perfect decklist for an Overlord deck? I'm finalizing the pieces of mine and have a few cards I'm missing (just number, I'm in the upper 80s) and am curious what people define as the perfect decklist (:
