I would definately run a Sylvan Library and then you should be set on card draw. If you run Dormant Sliver, Galerider (any one mana sliver), and Hibernation Sliver it is effectively 2 life to draw a card; build your own Greed! (This assumes you have a mana and haste slivers out)
I don't run any board wipes since I am not a fan of the games they create (talking about MLD, not wraths). Ghostflame and All is Dust are wasted slots imo but ymmv.
I don't think so, he is broken with Flash, but totally normal by himself.
I mean, how do you sacrifice him consistently? You need to turn him into a sliver and have a sacrifice outlet to work, which means you need 3 cards to get a couple of sliver out, 3 cards with one being 7 manas to try to set up a kill, I think there are better cards to work with, and including Flash is a wasted slot, since we hardly can use it with the hive.
I played this weekend with the hive on an optimized build, it was overkill :), fast and consistent as hell, for the comboers, did you test Paradox Engine? I'm thinking about including, but I would like to know if it runs smooth on the deck.
Those were my thoughts on Hulk as well. Too much to do to enable efficiency. I felt Paradox Engine was an auto include, imo, but likewise have yet to draw it. I've recently also gone a 100% Sliver route, but boy does Vizier of the Menagerie make me want to make an exception 😃
what would you tutor with hull? Three 2 ccc mana slivers? 1 legendary and Galerider sliver?
By the time you get enough mana And get a sac outlet for him you would already have some board presence. For me its best to be advancing rather than just pull all your important slivers at once, that could leave you open for a Merciless Eviction
The Vizier of the Menagerie IS a very interesting card, that first, fixes your mana AND allows you to dig through your library. As a fan of Future sight I know how important is to dig. Last but not least, this is an answer to Blood Moon
On the other hand, I think that a full combo approach should get plenty of counterspells. If you are in a meta with Zurs, Scions, Arcums, Tazri, counterspells are a life saver. Dont forget that most of those mentioned are much faster than you
I think that Paradox Engine is an extremely useful tool, as it has proven its worth in many of other decks.
Imma replace Amoeboid Changeling with Vizier of the Menagerie. The first one has limited utility because it requires to lower (or not have) your shields, and so, it rarely gets activated. The latter helps fixing mana for creatures (priority) and makes me not fold hard to Blood Moon effects.
Nah, I don't think Thran Turbine is actually good, for that effect I think Braid of Fire is just much better, with flash you can also start casting slivers with that mana, and in 2+ turns it starts to go crazy, Braid of Fire is just worse the first turn of mana, from the second and on its an uphill mana development card.
Ramos, Dragon Engine looks like a very nice addition! The only problem is that it needs to survive a whole round before getting value out of it, it looks for Sliver Overlord, a worse Prophet of Kruphix, but hey, she got banned because of her awesome power on multiplayer, he will do the trick in her place.
Im not that excited about Ramos, dragon engine, because its pretty vulnerable with the creature./ artifacts sub types. Ive used both Mirari's Wake and Mana reflection which have similar but less powerful effect with a much greater resilence by being enchantments, and ultimately removed them because if they manage to survive its very likely that you have an advantage.
On the other hand, after seeing the Ixalan leak, the Arcane adaptation enchantment looks highly playable, as its cheap (2U) and it basically turns your non sliver thralls in play or not in play into tutorable slivers. It looks that you can easily take advantage of it at least once easily or could fly under the radar if more threatening cards are active
Have always appreciated the thoroughness of your thread! I'm sure someone already mentioned it, but I think Kindred Discovery would be a great addition to the agro version of your Slivers deck. I have a version of Slivers, in my signature, that I will be adding it to shortly. In the agro version, given that Sliver Hivelord is so vital to keeping your dudes alive, how important would you consider the regeneration slivers like Crypt Sliver or Sedge Sliver? On the one hand, I really like that they save each other, but on the other hand, if I'm almost always racing out Sliver Hivelord, I really wonder if my slots could be used more effectively?
@Outcryqq: Apologies for missing this. Also, many thanks for your kind words. I'm a sucker for praise, truth be told
I had also completely missed Kindred Discovery. I'll add it to the useful cards list for now until I can test it live.
I've played nothing but slivers for years on EDH and, to be honest, regeneration has failed to work out consistently for me, even if the meta has never remained constant for long. If I were to pack one, I'd go for Sedge Sliver, since it also packs a buff, and it's been a rare day when I've been short on black mana.
I may be wrong and, once again, it could be that my meta is influencing me too much. I wouldn't rule it out, but slivers is all I do. Hope you find it useful.
I have found regen useful at times but it is not critical. I do currently run bloodclot and sedge, but I agree with Crux, if I could only pick one it would be Sedge. I don't like Crypt because of the targeting since Crystalline is one of my first tutor target.
Hello all, new here. I have been playing slivers since creation. To date I have every sliver ever made. I’ve played them in standard and only a little in casual. I’m interested in making a commander Deck with the Overlord as my commander. Can someone post a zero budget deck that can survive both multiplayer and 1v1? Price is not an issue. Thank you for your time.
@Tanth303: Welcome to the hive! It is quite possible to win without comboing if you go a more aggressive route. Check out Crux's agro list in the primer.
@Zoa069: Welcome to the hive! My list has no problem winning 1v1 or multiplayer. It runs all duals and fetches so it is not budget friendly at all. It is linked to in the primer. Edit: Here is a link so people don't have to go find it (namely me)
Now on to my post: What do you think the chances of seeing slivers now that we are going back to Dominaria?
I have found a great combo with sliver overlod. It includes paradox engine,SLiver Overlord, Manaweft sliver and/or gemhide sliver. This combo can make you put all of your slivers into play done right. You i say aroud 4/5 slivers onto the battle field, you tap all ov them for mana, with that mana activate sliver overlord, search for cheap sliver, rinse and repeat until they are all out. there is one flaw u need to give them all haste. so u would want to search for blur sliver or heart sliver. this could be a game winner. then attack. GG
This is probably meta-dependent and maybe I've gotten unlucky. Using a slightly modified aggro list, I've had a lot of success both one-on-one and in multiplayer, to the point I get hated out. Lately, a Markov deck and the ninjitsu commander have been tough match-ups. Markov's eminence ability provides chump blockers and cannot be stopped in addition to several game-ending combos in that deck. The ninjistu commander is tough to interact with and if the Divining Top stays, impossible to stop. I've thought of adding more counters but it would likely be at the cost of slivers. Anyone have a similar meta or a work-around that may not involve sacrificing more slivers?
Thanks for the reply. I am using the Overlord. The problem I seem to be having is either losing the aggro race to Markov and it doesn't feel like I bounce back as quickly from board wipes, which come frequently. When I do win, it's with shadow/flying/menace and Triumph of the Hordes. Patriarch's Bidding is useful, but it feels like I need to be running more counters, which would come at the cost of slivers. Teferi's Protection is fantastic but also eats as many counters as I do chips.
Hold on a sec here, who's been fiddling with my alerts settings? Thought there was no news here, then I stop by and there's all this going on. What a pleasant surprise.
@gvazdaus: Teferi's Protection is good enough that it warrants packing a Boseiju, Who Shelters All. I've been toying myself recently with Triumph of the Hordes. I've been wanting to build a decent multiplayer infect deck for years but it's simply not viable. There are more slivers than critters with infect. I'm still making sacrifices to Yawgmoth now and then, hoping that he will bless us servants of the Hive with an infecting sliver...
@iliurgul - Yeah, well, merging my old forums account with a Twitch one wrecked something with my prefs so I missed a ton of stuff. That's fixed already so I'll be around again, ready to collect wisdom and share it with my fellow servants of the Hive.
Added your suggestions to the useful cards list. Shame, shame, shame on me for missing Bring to Light, especially when it's a card I've been using myself.

I have added Paradox Engine but I have yet to draw it. My guess is it will be a more expensive yet asymmetrical Intruder Alarm.

I think you could use some more double strike or a migantic sliver I see that it is combo based.
