In regards to the Worldgorger Dragon and Hellkite Charger combos:
They are both really awesome, and if you are playing competitively I would include them.
Hellkite Charger is mana intensive, but there are lots of ways to address that.
The thing is, I only play magic with friends and I know they don't want to see these combos over and over.
Sorry if that's kind of a lame answer,I always feel guilty for not taking people's advice on this site, especially someone who knows what they are talking about.
Thank you again for the input, really.
That's a good reason not to run it. My group tends to run more cutthroat decks so it is acceptable, but if my group didn't like it, I wouldn't run it either.
The best Scion deck article I have seen. I originally wanted to make a Bladewing deck b.ut then I realized how much better Scion is. That being said I was wondering if you could give me some help on my deck build. My fri
Ends and don't run planes walkers in our EDH decks, weird I know but we like it. Because of that I ask you, what would you substitute the planes walkers in your build for?
Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it.
Believe it or not Planeswalker in this deck are mostly filler. They are nice because they provide utility and act as lightning rods. I simply like planeswalkers and try to put four different ones in every deck I make. If I was really serious about using them the only one on this list I would probably keep is Gideon, because he is amazing.
As you can see the list has been updated and I am working on a new guide, I was hoping to sneak the guide in before I announced the update but you got me.

Took the tutors out because I really don't need them. I dislike that Oracle has become an auto-include in my green decks so she's gone. I absolutely hated drawing Ajani, every time. Sun Quan has been an all-star so I'm sticking Gideon in another deck. More people are playing flying in my group now so I swapped Living Death to Patriarch's Bidding. Harsh Mercy seems like it might end up being terrible, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Any questions or comments are always welcome.

Ended up being pretty unhappy with a lot of the changes. I completely forgot one of my friends has a sliver deck when I added Harsh Mercy. I'll probably get some groans for adding Iona, but oh well.

Moved a lot of stuff around. Some things are gone because I didn't feel they fit, others ended up working better in other decks. Supply // Demand tutors a great deal of the deck and acts as a backup enabler for Mass Polymorph if Rith gets taken out. Maelstrom Wanderer was added to get more value out of Mass Polymorph and Warp World. Sorin Markov's -3 fit's the voltron theme very well, it's one of those cards you think about and are like "why haven't you been playing that you dummy."
I think The Mimeoplasm deserves some consideration with all the dragons scion can pitch into your yard.
I've actually thought about it. I usually play Scion as a win condition so most of the dragons in my yard will be there because of wraths. I do build up a fairly decent yard though, which is why I play Living Death. He's probably good in any deck that plays a decent amount of creatures really. I don't know, I'll think about it.
I've made some more changes but it's late, I'll update another day.

Added Twilight Shepherd for a little wrath protection. Cut Iona because she's really not that impressive for 9 mana and people seem hell bent on banning her anyway. Play-tested quicksilver again and he did well, so I'm giving him another shot.

I didn't have a whole lot of luck with Quicksilver myself because I found a lot of time I didn't have three mana to spare and because of manabase issues (something I'm addressing) I had a harder time with blue mana since most of my deck was focused on the Jund wedge of colors. Something you may want to also to look into for Wrath protection that did test okay for me was Mikaeus, the Unhallowed.

Yeah, I took Quicksilver out before because I used to cast scion more often and felt like I needed a more permanent solution like artifacts or enchantments. Mikaeus is a lot better than Twilight Shepherd. But, she has the added bonus of being chuckable with Kaalia, and doesn't get tripped up by Stormtide Leviathan. Not to mention one of the best pieces of art in magic imo.

I haven't seen you post on this in a while, but I found a card you might like: Demonic Collusion. A friend of mine uses this in his Scion build to pitch a couple dragons to the graveyard and tutor up Patriarch's Bidding or Living Death. Not sure if it is something you'd necessarily run, but I figure I'd share.

My group has grown more competitive so I thought I'd add a little Kokusho goodness. Mnemonic Nexus was a great find; it acts as graveyard hate/recycle, and works well with Niv-Mizzet. Plasm Capture can stop a wrath and set us up for fire-breathing the next turn. Demonic Collusion was a great tip, thanks again Deadguydrew! Love the post, one of the best Scion Guides out there!
I too have a Scion deck that I've spent some time honing for my multiplayer meta, and wondered if you have considered tainted pact as another tutor option. Replacing one of each basic with its snow-covered equivalent would negate the chance of Tainted Pact missing, turning it into an instant-speed Demonic Tutor!
Granted, it's not for every situation, as the drawback can be rather significant, but I find it a great option when you see the opportunity to close the game, but your pesky Living Death is stuck in the library

Thank you very much! I like Tainted Pact, I had never seen that card before. Right now I am trying to limit the number of tutors I play because of where my group is in terms of deck building. If I ever hone this deck, making it more competitive, that card is definitely something I will consider.

Cool, I can understand that. My playgroup has only recently started amping up the competitiveness of their decks, although we still try to stay clear of becoming too cutthroat. I also wanted to ask you, how have you found Plasm Capture in terms of playability? I am considering giving it a shot, but it is so color-intensive...Do you ever find yourself bending over backwards to keep the UUGG open?

I still haven't gotten mine yet, which is funny because it's one of only two cards I wanted from Dragon Maze. I added it because I need a response to epic spells late game (Plague Wind, Insurrection, Exsanguinate, ect.) By the time my play group gets around to casting these spells I feel I should have the right fixing. I can't wait to use it after a big spell for a super-charged fire-breathing.
I don't know, we will see. I'm going to make another order in a week or two.

It's been a while, so I thought I'd update the old girl. Plasm Capture has worked very well in the deck. You just can't say enough about a counter spell that gives you mana to pump into fire-breathing next turn.
Added Magus of the Moat and Mudslide for a little more protection.

This deck can be really good in multiplayer if you know how to sit on your resources and wait for the most opportune moments to use them. Multiplayer Scion is about biding your time and using good political skills.
The deck can be absolutely devastating 1v1, all that would need to be added is the original Nicol Bolas.

What would you take out for 1v1? And what turn usury can this deck go off in multiplayer?
Most of the good stuff can be taken out, I think Dragonmaster Outcast is probably the most irrelevant creature in the deck ATM. The deck can be a lot faster if you add more tutors and ramp, but its never going to be as fast as some of the combo decks in the format unless you go the Hermit Druid rout. Even then, Hermit Druid is extremely fragile.

I hadn't checked back in a while since I thought you had stopped updating this. Thanks and good to see you're still running Scion. I had to disembowel mine because I have a limited card pool and it was monopolizing most of the best cards I had in each color but I'm thinking about putting it back together.
Edit: One think I noticed. Instead of Mnemonic Nexus what about Time Spiral? It's only 1 more mana to cost but it does the same thing, plus draws 7, plus it untaps lands.
Double Edit: I also love the addition of Scourge of Valkas to the deck. Hitting that off of a Living Death/Patriarch's Bidding is just hilarious.
