This forum has helped me build my deck so I am here to share my list. I like my Norin fierce without any chaos. The deck is all about ETB, token generation, and boosting creatures for big attacks. This deck is my favorite for EDH and as such I am always making edits. With over a year of building I have figured out Norin works best as an aggressor. This is why you will not see any removal and control cards are kept to a minimum. Most games are won by building a strong mana base and then bombing the board with tokens. The tokens should win you the game either through ETB's or by attacking.
Feel free to let me know what you think of the list. I would love to discuss and improve. If anyone has better options for card draw, then I would love to hear it. Having many cards in hand is the biggest area of improvement for the deck.
Karn is an asymmetric null rod that can also unequip equipment and kill off mana crypts, mox diamonds, everflowing chalices, and all other kinds of common zero drop artifacts. That alone probably makes him a commander staple. Considering we also have an artifact subtheme for him to add value to, id say hes pretty much a shoe in.
Not sure I share your excitement about chandra. Seems ok but in practice i feel like light up the stage probably gives us more card advantage for less. Walkers that give card advantage usually dont last very long, everyone goes after them and 5 damage or so isnt going to deter them in a 40 life game.
I definitely like this guy a lot. He definitely seems like he should get a spot. Solid aggressive creature that also lets us loot any number of dead cards? Sign me up. Could even throw in aggravated assault for a two card combo as an extra wincon.
Any love for Ilharg, the Raze-Boar in this deck? I'm not 100% sure we need Piggy Piggy Sooey, and since we just have a lot of smaller value creatures this may not be totally of relevance, but reusing ETBs is nice.

I think you could make a cool ETB-focused iteration, but without going full ham, it's probably not quite worth it.
Karn, the Great Creator - Great option; diversifies our wishboard, has a solid static effect, and it's all value.
Ugin, the Ineffable - Another great option. I wish its +1 was a bit more synergistic with the deck, but it's certainly not bad.
Chandra, Fire Artisan - Yet another great option. At least testing this draw engine.
Finale of Promise - A little too specific on something we don't do, but if it had enough value (in a more instant/sorcery heavy build), I'd totally run it there.
Ilharg, the Raze-Boar - Engine for the deck. I'm not quite sold on it, but I'm testing it out. May be better going full ham on ETB than in my current build.

Interesting, when I read the card I actually thought the way at which it gave card advantage was very synergistic for us lol. I mean yea its a bummer that the tokens aren't artifacts or goblins but the fact that gives us cards by way of creatures that trigger all our ETB goodness seems really perfect for us.
Mizzium Tank - Not quite worth it, but a decent bomb.
I know what you mean. I love having Norin crew my Smuggler's copter, any vehicle norin can crew solo is worth consideration for that alone as that is solid value. But I just don't think this one is quite there.
Blast Zone - Super utility, though it doesn't quite fit in for me, I think. I like it a lot, though. May slot in later.
I feel like since its a land that can shoot enchantments (and anything else too) we should play it? I know its so slow and grindy but the cost of slotting in a land is so minimal and in mono-red we have very few answers for enchantments and very few wraths in general that can be used asymmetrically.
Mobilized District - The fact that this might be free makes it a serious consideration, but I think the deck doesn't quite want the effect.
Similar thoughts. I kind of want to play it since I like anything that allows norin to turn into or create creatues and this kind of fits the bill? But probably not useful enough.
Ugin - I feel like the draw is a little slow for what I want most of the time, but certainly still going to test it. The token element is good, I was just feeling mixed on the draw itself.
Blast Zone - Maybe. I'm pretty short on colorless land slots personally.

It's pretty behind, but I'll try to get it up here some time this week.
Uggh, my computer is in the shop so that will be delayed.
Also just found out that the RC officially banned wishboards. Jeez. Oh well.
Wasn't the wishboard rule basically a house rule anyway? They more or less took that line out of Rule 13 and used it to create Rule 0. You could still use wish/sideboards with group permission before the game begins.

Yeah but house rules rarely happen especially for us players who don't have a continuous playgroup.

Creature - Goblin Artificer
When Goblin Engineer enters the battlefield, you may search your library for an artifact card, put it into your graveyard, then shuffle your library.
R, T, Sacrifice an artifact: Return target artifact card with CMC 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Would have to look for artifacts that are worth fetching, but finding a Genesis Chamber seems to be worth it all the time. Not saying auto-include, but comes pretty close for me.

A hobby is by defenition something you're not any good at - otherwise it'd have been your work. Magic is my biggest hobby so I mustn't be very good at it.
It's tough to imagine this guy not finding a home given how hard it is for us to find tutoring in mono-red. Cheap, small, goblin, basically a welder and tutors artifacts to boot, that's a lot of value.
On that note, Scrapyard Recombiner is at least worth exploring given its a cheap artifact creature that can tutor but I don't think we have enough constructs to make it worthwhile. It's too bad too because modular works really well with welders and now we'll probably have 3 of them.
Seasoned pyromancer also looks real good. Faithless Looting on a stick is already worth considering and this guy is way better then that since he has the potential to be a divination and can turn unwanted cards or squees into creatures.
Welp, an auto-include just got printed for Norin. Check out the newly spoiled Pyrophobia. It's totally broken, massively powerful, and should be in every Norin deck EVER.

I don't think he's gonna make it for me. To make him good, we'd need a mountain that's more than just a mountain - the only option for that is Madblind Mountain and that's bad. He would be better in multicolored decks where you can find a Badlands or something. So for 3 mana, I'd rather play something that structurally gives me an advantage. Furthermore, he has no relevant creature types and no synergy with most of what's in our list. The tricks with Panharmonicon or Confusion in the ranks are nice, but coincidental at best for me. Thopter Engineer would be a better option for the same mana cost. Or Pashalik Mons for that matter.
That said. I really like Throes of Chaos. Turns our late game mountains into card advantage.

My take on the new set is that probably only Goblin Engineer deserves a spot. It's very, very good though, at least in my build. I'd do anything to have a Skullclamp every game.

Other cards were considered, but usually ruled out much quicker.

Alpine Guide - Doesn't get anything versatile, so you pretty much want to play it off of a non-basic or artifact-based start. That's not the greatest situation, but doable. Not running, though.
Goblin Engineer - Yeah, this is the only card that's really worth it. A second welder with a tutor? Sign me up.
Mox Tantalite - I think this card is absolutely worth consideration, but its drawback might push it out of contention. Maybe. It is pretty good.
Chandra, Acolyte of Flame - With an increase in playable planeswalkers in the last set and this one, this card slots in easily.
Chandra, Awakened Inferno - This seems like goodstuff. I was thinking it might end up going in, but as a second thought, kinda meh on it for now. The +2 is SO good, even if the card itself doesn't synergize well.
Chandra's Regulator - If this wasn't legendary, I'd regretfully decline. As is, I'm still not sure. But it does do a lot that we like, so I'll at least give it a test-run.
Glint-Horn Buccaneer - This is tempting. Very tempting. I think it's just not quite worth it, but it may be reconsidered later.
Mystic Forge - I kinda want to test this. I don't like it, but it has potential. I think overall, though, I'mma stick with my gut. Maybe someone else can give it a try?
Field of the Dead - This is going to be a hard card to cut for, but I want to see if I can make it work.
Lotus Field - Without Hexproof, I'd drop this like hot garbage, but with it, this is quite the card. Worth at least testing.
I'm doing a large order, which will include some cards for Norin. I'll try to get around to finally posting the latest decklist around then.

We'll see how decklists shift from that; I also need to handle the de-wishboard.
