Its a creature (which we love) with a fat flying body (also awesome) at an efficient cost (basic needs met) that can also be a wheel later or if we loot it (phenomenal). Ill be testing it for sure.

Goblin Spymaster has a bit of potential. The other two seem meh, with maybe a bit of potential for the Automation in the right meta.
Well sure if it was just a sorcery that said wheel. But from the yard? At instant speed? Thats a bit different.
[edit] oh you meant the dragon. I mean its vanilla. Id never play it wothout the wheel aspect. But ill take a vanilla dragon that can also be an instant wheel later

I still wouldn't play
Wheel of Chance
Instant
Each player discards his or her hand, then draws seven cards.
Flashback 5R
Or even
Runehorn Summoning5R
Sorcery
Put a 5/5 red Dragon creature token with flying onto the battlefield.
// Wheel of Chance
Instant
Each player discards his or her hand, then draws seven cards.
Flashback 5R
Though it would be a consideration if any of the costs were 5 mana or less.
i would still think about Hoarding Dragon before including Runehorn Hellkite, and if i was looking for a way to capitalize on the looting, anger (which i do use) would be first.
even magus of the wheel is an arguable autoinclusion, since he (at least in the stock list) can't tap right away.
The box is must have for me. Much too often I'm looking at a hand full of irrelevant cards and the box does remarkable things for that. I originally built this deck in 2012 and I remember it being a boss. The list struggles to keep up with my edric deck these days, mostly due to just looking at so many derpy cards. Anything that refreshes our hand continually seems like it should stick around.
Edit: I thought I had quoted someone about using the puzzle box. My post made more sense that way.
I cut Teferi's Puzzle Box about 1,5 year ago I think. There aren't that many combo players in my meta, and I found that it was handing my opponents the solutions to the problems I gave them. For me, it was very counterproductive.

A hobby is by defenition something you're not any good at - otherwise it'd have been your work. Magic is my biggest hobby so I mustn't be very good at it.

I see that. I may have been over valuing the box based on my meta
So I kinda like Release the Gremlins. Shame it doesn't make Gobbo's, but it's quite good.

Release the Gremlins and Gonti's Aether Heart both look like possible choices to consider for Norin. I'm not the most enthused by the mana cost on the Heart, but that said it is an extra turn effect. Release the Gremlins is at the very least a wishboard consideration, possibly mainboard artifact removal.
Yeah, I guess Gonti's Aether Heart is good too. I really hate extra turn effects though (more of a casual player), so I probably won't be using it. Thinking about Release the Gremlins, it's good enough to play for 3 (I played Manic Vandal for a long time}, and gets better for a while. It hardly ever occurs that I really want to destroy more than 3 artifacts with Shattering Spree. I'll have to consider what to take out, but I'm definately going to test it.

I like Release the Gremlins in place of Shattering Spree. At least in more casual metas. Seems fun. And I've been really hoping to get some gremlins into the deck.
It's possible that Inspirational Monuments could be good as well if you're playing a more artifact focused deck as well. God, it's straight busted with Genesis Chamber....
Release the Kitties is certainly usable for the creatures. I have hit more than 3 artifacts with Spree before when a player had multiplelargemanarocksout and it was the first artifact removal I drew.

Well not too artifact focused, Inspirational Monuments only adds improvise to the non-artifact spells.
I feel like it works in the deck honestly. By itself it's a 3 mana rock that taps for 1. Obviously we'd never play that but it's not useless. As soon as you play Skullclamp, Crucible of Worlds, Gauntlet of Might, Genesis Chamber or one of 6-7 artifacts that don't care whether they're tapped or not it becomes a Worn Powerstone or more. And it allows us to turn stuff like Relic of Progenitus, Memory Jar, etc. into mana if we're not looking to use them right away. And yea, obviously awesome with Genesis Chamber going.
We don't really need a ton of mana but I feel like this one will prove more valuable then its mana cost most of the time and its pretty cheap which seems up our alley. Maybe cut Mind Stone and try it out?
If you already cut the warstorm surge, then losing the pandemonium seems logical. I used to run both but only run warstorm surge now. Too many early fatty and token decks in my meta to make the pandemonium safe to play. To be fair, I like it better than outpost siege in dragons mode, however. Outpost siege should almost be khans, or does it not work that way for you?
Outpost siege should almost be khans, or does it not work that way for you?
Haven't tried it much; almost always been putting Outpost Siege out as my first engine when I'm relatively okay on cards. But anyways...
Seems legit. Transforming 4 Myrs into solid permanents? I'm sold.
Yea that looks awesome. I also have no problem using it as a more risky Chaos Warp for threatening enemy creatures. Sure unless the creature is something like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth there's definitely a chance you'll put something worse into play. But there's also a good chance you'll give them a far less threatening creature or something totally innocuous like a signet. I would rarely (if ever) target an enemy artifact though, wouldn't want to turn that into some awful creature.
Wrangle: I'm always considering Threaten effects, and this one is okay, but I think it's a little too limited.
Cogwork Assembler: Too high of a mana cost on the ability, otherwise cool.
Daredevil Dragster: Very nifty card, possible option, though might not be effective enough. Doesn't have much synergy, just efficiency going for it.
Gonti's Aether Heart: Despite the mana cost, this is definitely a consideration given the number of artifacts we run. It is a high mana cost, though. For now, I'll leave it be. May test at a later time.
Inspiring Statuary: Great manafact for this deck. At least 3 for tapping for 1-2. Likely 3 for tapping for at least 3.
Something of note that I've found interesting Pyrohemia. The red version of Pestilence is great in Norin. It has to have at least one creature out at all times, but you can always attack with Norin, blink him out, blow up the world and damage players, then our savior comes back, and Pyrohemia checks to see if there's any creatures, which there are.
*EDIT: Just saw where Al_Z_Heimer mentioned it a few pages back.
Question, do we have a list of primers and/or deck lists people are using and can we get them all in one post so it's simpler for people to read or view? I have my league starting this Wednesday and while I'll have to modify some of the deck to play cards that gain points, I've been wanting to do Norin for a long time.

Pretty sure this is the only Norin primer on the forum, but any posted lists are scattered through the thread. Compiling the lot is a tall order for Wednesday. Might be quicker to give the league rules and whatnot for suggestions.
Rules: We still play the old mulligan rules, and tuck effects on commanders are still in. We have a points system and you can both gain positive and negative amounts, as well as losing some points for certain commanders. I typed up a quick list here:
Being able to farm points while also winning is a big plus. Format is semi-competitive with some people playing dirty decks that like to take infinite turns, etc.
Out of curiosity, the extra turns rule seems to be under One Time Negatives by says "for every two consecutive extra turns". Do the infinite turn takers get a lot of negative points or just -2?

A lot. Thats' probably a typo by the league director. It should be repeatable in case somehow they get stopped and start again.
But just as an example, what I like is going:
T1: 1 drop creature
T2: Play Norin, attack, get First Blood. Norin comes back in at eot, get Cheaty Face.
T3: Tuck someones commander, get So Sick of that Guy.
Or
T1: Play Norin
T2: Play Hellspark Elemental, attack, trigger Norin. Get first blood and cheaty face
T3: Unearth Hellspark and get Necromancer
Etc Etc.
The average game if someone doesn't combo out quickly, usually lasts around 7-8 turns with 4 player pods. It seems 90% of players are playing blue decks of some sort. So I'm sure having some disruption like Magnetic Mountain or Red Elemental/Pyroblast, or maybe even Jaya Ballard could be a good meta call.
Even if Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon fall under "We don't want to play anyway" or "And throw away the key" it's only -2 per game and can hinder the blue players.
6 mana is an efficient cost? Are you on drugs?

Pyroblast effects sound pretty good with that much blue around. So does a copy of Fork, Reverberate, or Dualcaster Mage, netting you "Copy Cat" (are there a lot of kicked Rite of Replication?). That also brings Mindclaw Shaman to mind.
Memory Jar, Mindslaver, Stranglehold, Gravity Sphere/Chaosphere, Planar Chaos, and/or Grip of Chaos may be useful. The chaotic effects from Gaka's build seemed to have foiling certain kinds of metas in mind.
Land hate without destroying them: Burning Earth, Manabarbs, Price of Glory, and - just because there's so much blue - Scald.
Stuff that's not hard:
Edit: If it's 90% blue, doesn't that seem a bit skewed? Like there's something incentivizing the lean towards blue?
