Well, first and foremost it is well worth mentioning that the commander 2014 white deck is a token deck. That means that there is going to be a lot of crossover cards that can be utilized to build this deck with.
Commander 2014 Set Review:
Angel of the Dire Hour so, when I first read this card I thought it was target attacking creature but it is actually quite interesting as an all attackers are removed. We play as a draw / go style of control deck with bad reanimation so this acts somewhat like a fog plus wrath for when someone gets a good attack force online. One strategy that seems to always give me some issues is token swarm and this gives a much more potent fog type of effect.
Angelic Field Marshal it curves in nicely with our commander and gives mass vigilance. Some people like to poke with their rebels and this does offer that utility. Overall, its not really powerful but its not bad for a budget list but I would likely play Heliod, God of the Sun over it.
Benevolent Offering sort of a Timely Reinforcements with part Congregate splashed in. Its... a little underwhelming but I could see it being a meta call if you play against a lot of pressure decks like Purphoros, God of the Forge. Overall, its sort of a small scale token spawn as well as lifegain but its not amazing at either.
Comeuppance ohhh wow not only does this fog for us, it also redirects large amounts of damage from something like a Purphoros, God of the Forge trigger. I have often had issues with token based decks and this gives the option of not just fogging their damage but also killing their creatures. Its also really strong because in a situation like a Crafterhoof Behemoth they can swing out at everyone and I can stop myself from dying but let the other opponents still die to it.
Containment Priest unfortunately, this card is worded in a way that really screws this deck over. I really wish they had worded it in a way that would allow it to only affect opponents. Unfortunately it really cannot be played in this deck due to this.
Deploy to the Front tokens... they are slow but many in number. Being an expensive sorcery sort of kills this one for me.
Hallowed Spiritkeeper tokens and he can be rezed off of Sun Titan. My issue with him offhand is needing a sac outlet to really maximize him. He is also graveyard dependent and dependent on what has happened so far in the game as to how productive he can be. It seems like a good card to play in a budget list though.
Jazal Goldmane its a really big pump, unfortunately he is incredibly expensive to cast and use in the same turn. Coat of Arms / Mirror Entity seem to do similar things as this guy but overall he is just a lot of mana to invest into a plan that we cant really tutor for or recur. He seems like a solid consideration for those who want to run heavier anthem builds.
Nahiri, the Lithomancer she does make tokens as one of her abilities and if you are more of an equipment build she seems decent as well. Rebels are fairly good on defense so its possible that you could make her work fairly well in a rebel build.
Commander's Sphere its a cheap stone that can sacrifice for a card. Overall, its alright and something that might come into consideration in place of some things like Darksteel Ingod. Overall, I dont run a lot of low mana stones because they are hard to ramp me into my strategy generally speaking.
Crown of Doom an amusing anthem effect. Its a big game of keep away really and it gives a nice anthem buff to the one holding it. It can work as a political choice to include.
Loreseeker's Stone some expensive card draw. Draw is important in mono white but its sort of painful as this deck doesn't really burn through cards quickly generally speaking so it means the draw effect is probably going to remain expensive.
Masterwork of Ingenuity an option for equipment builds. I would likely want to be playing a good number of equipment probably in the range of 6+ before considering adding this in mono white. I think it is interesting but in general it requires a specific build to really consider.
Unstable Obelisk mana ramp and later removal for anything. It is... alright as a multipurpose card but the issue is that it isn't great as a mana stone and it isn't great as a removal effect. It does get some points for being versatile but overall, I think we have better removal and better ramp options available.
Myriad Landscape its a bit of ramp and a shuffle. The overall downside of being colorless mana and coming in tapped seems like things this deck can work with.
Overall, some amazing pickup options here. We happen to be a deck that plays tokens and flash spells nicely and I feel like we really encompass a lot of what this deck is trying to do so as far as new cards, we hit right on the money for the type of deck that we play. Personally speaking, Angel of the Dire Hour, Comeuppance and Myriad Landscape are the ones I am considering at the moment. I have also been considering adding a few more repeat use token producers to my list so I need to put some time and effort into a few changes.

I have been testing your list with some minor changes with my group. Just Awesome! Every time I can play the deck in different ways, and win in a different way!
So this is basically just a message to show you my appreciation! I hope I will be more useful to the conversation in the future!

I am glad you are enjoying it. It is quite the unique sort of list due to all of the defensive tutor targets. My current priority is probably to add Mobilization and possibly Heliod, God of the Sun if I can make room for both. I am really interested in some of the new things from Commander 2014 as well but I don't know if I will get around to those or not. Feel free to ask questions or give input.

I run Mobilization (I am not running Karn because is way too expensive and I replaced it with it. Completely different cards, I know, but I had one vacancy and I like mobilization). But it does not perfrom perfectly so far. There are games when I have 20+ mana available, and it means 6-7 token (which could be enough to end the game with mirro entity on the field. But still... Not 100% convinced.
I also run the infinite life combo, but it's sort of lame... I do not like doing it that much so I think I will make room for other creatures/spells insted of those 2.
Hi!
I always like to play rebels and now I've decide to trying to setup a Lin Sivvi build.
My play group has an improved removal arsenal and almost totally player use only exile or Terminus effects. In your experience is there any way to build a rebel deck able to have some chance to win a game once in a while? How many rebels you have average on the battlefield?
Have you any advice in order to face my meta?

Wraths are always the hardest thing to deal with while playing rebels. Tuck wraths however tend to be very useful for a rebel deck because rather than possibly getting rid of the toolbox options they are cycling them back into the deck. With options like Champion as well as sacrifice outlets you can help keep them at bay to some extent. The other defense is increasing the number of tutoring rebels you run and always trying not to cast the tutoring rebels that you draw which leaves you with opportunities to drop them post tuck effect to try to recover for you. Its hard to say how many tutoring rebels you should run as its a bit of a trial by fire sort of thing to consider. If you find it to be an issue then increase it and if you find yourself drowning in them reduce their number. I always try to refrain from tutoring too many tutor rebels into play because if you get tuck wrathed you will end up with all of them hiding together so whenever possible tutor for utility non tutoring rebels or just try to keep a single tutoring rebel in play which is generally what I shoot for which dissuades spot tuck from coming your way.
Overall, its a bit of a trial and error thing. You will get the hang of it yourself and decide how much you need based on playtime.

Well, here you can find my list. It's really near to your because, in my opinion, you have made all choices needed to build a playable deck with some chance to win sometimes.
On first match, yesterday night, deck run strange but well. I've put on battlefield a lot of lands and abuse of rebel abilities without any chance to draw extra cards or put tokens in play (only elspeth used as removal). My friends try to stress the new deck to see response and after an hour and half (we close the game without any winner because was late) I have 36 hp, they have 23 and 27, Lin Sivvi come back from the deck after two turn received a Chaos Warp, I have 14 of 16 lands played (they destroy me Emeria and Mistveil). They play a Zurgo and a Teneb deck.
My first impression is: "The deck is tough and funny to play".

Thanks a lot for your Primer
being that its a defensive toolbox it is a bit tricky in how to play it. Its first priority is self preservation and sometimes that can make people go elsewhere on its own because generally bad things happen when you have the ability to tutor and something is attacking you. It can also be very tricky as I find people poke me with things whenever they can just to see how I respond which is annoying. In an ideal world you make them kill each other but that is generally speaking the "ideal world" situation that rarely happens.
Defensive response decks will always depend a little on the meta as well as how you want to pilot it.

Yesterday was a great Rebel day! Two play two wins!
First play Oloro VS Uril VS Zurgo VS Lin Sivvi:
Uril kill Zurgo, then Lin kills Oloro and next turn Uril. Good luck, Picked up White Sun's Zenith turn before Zurgo passing, and with Caged Sun put 20 Cat 3/3
Second play Drana(control) VS Uril VS Zurgo VS Lin Sivvi:
Uril kill Drana, Zurgo kill Uril, Lin kills Zurgo:
After Uril passing, Zurgo force me to use Oblivion Stone in its turn, using and Angel of Despair. I saving Lens with a fate counter. Zurgo remain and on the battlefiled with Angel. Before using Stone I scry 2 with Crystal Ball and put on top Terminus. Zurgo's player face change from to immediately. Then I draw Sacred Mesa and the game end.
The first part of both play are similar, Pillow Fort with Rebels
My impression after 4 play, and two win, is: this deck need more time to win than other control deck but really has responses against any kind of threat.
Two questions:
1. Have you never win without using Mirror Entity?
2. If someone equip Sword of War and Peace on a creature enchanted with Bound in Silence the creature remain enchanted?
I'm thinking to insert Vedalken Orrery in deck what about this card in your experience?

1) Yes its not that uncommon. Generally speaking if I get too harrassed on the front of my rebels but have good mana rolling its possible to start killing people then. Mirror Entity just happens to be very easily fetched in a lot of cases.
2) Pro white screws with the deck a bit. You can counter harass them a bit with Tower of the Magistrate to try to stop that assuming they lack hexproof but protection from white can be annoying. Distorting Lens is also defense against swords as you can turn the sword into a color it protects against and they will drop it which is a funny tactic. You can do that in response to the equip as well and it will never finish equipping which will keep the aura attached as well. In general, try to deal with pro white swords though.
Orrery - its one that I have considered before. In the end though, I don't really feel like I would use it all that much outside of being wrathed / recovering from wraths. I am usually fairly careful about how much mana I will spend on my own turn as well.
Overall, I agree with you that its sort of a slow win with rebels. It is fairly rare for me to be killing more than one person a turn even with Mirror Entity.

Sorry, my Fate Reforged set review for my rebels is a little behind. I was a little less enthusiastic to complete it since my plans were no changes.
Fate Reforged Set Review:
Channel Harm its another interesting fog that resembles Comeuppance in a few ways. Some fun facts on this one is that its not just combat damage that it prevents so you can do it to stop things like Blasphemous Act. The sad part is that it targets and it only has one target so if something bad is happening and you target a creature to try to stop it, if that creature goes away due to sac or spot removal the spell fizzles. Still, its interesting to think about.
Citadel Siege this siege is a little underwhelming. I suppose you could always go with the counters and bring a creature up in size hoping to be able to attack and or block better with it.
Mastery of the Unseen its sort of an interesting effect for a few reasons. First of all though, 4 mana for a token is on the high side of what we don't really want to pay. That said, this card has some potential to work well with topdeck manipulation as you can nibble away cards you don't especially want to draw. On the flip side though, if you don't have that topdeck manipulation this effect seems like it would be a lot worse than say Heliod, God of the Sun.
Monastery Mentor potentially an interesting token maker. The real issue is that this is a mono white deck so realistically its going to be hard to maintain a card draw effect to keep up what you would want to do with this guy. I like this guy but he doesn't fit well with this sort of deck because it would not be able to sustain the token production and or the pump effects for the tokens.
Rally the Ancestors this deck isn't based on ETB effects so it really isn't a very good choice of a card here. Exiling rebels is usually bad as well.
Valorous Stance an offense or defense ability. The removal it offers isn't that good for white and indestructible is a hit or miss protection. If you see a lot of wraths that this would protect against in your meta I could see running it but generally speaking its not that good.
Hero's Blade sort of a funny equipment. You could always go with the Lin Sivvi voltron. In all reality, the more realistic approach for this card would be if there were more legendary rebels you could bring them in as bigger creatures at instant speed. Cho-Manno, Revolutionary and Lin Sivvi are the only two legendary rebels at this time so its not as much of an option. I like the idea but I dont think this is the type of deck you are looking to run something like this for. The option of granting mass vigilance and starting some beat downs with Lin Sivvi is an option but I think its still not good enough to warrant consideration here.
Ugin, the Spirit Dragon its a good effect but the problem is that Lin Sivvi can normally recover rebels that you loose so exile removal is by far the worst sort of removal to use on your own creatures. Most of this deck's defensive measures come in the form of creatures as well. Unfortunately what Ugin offers is something we really dont want to be doing to the deck. Removal and or sweepers are also something that mono white is normally not lacking generally speaking.
So, realistically... Mastery of the Unseen / Channel Harm might be the most discussion worthy of the bunch. I like the idea of Mastery of the Unseen but its winmore in the fact that I always want topdeck manipulation and I would really only be happy with it if I had topdeck manipulation. My plans for now are no changes based on Fate Reforged. I do however have some deck changes.
DECK CHANGES:
Surveyor's Scope -> Heliod, God of the Sun overall my issue is generally speaking getting the bodies to be able to attack. The scope has been sort of a varying value sort of ramp card. I have in the past been in games where it fetches me 4 lands into play but at the same time I have been in games where it is a dead card. Heliod's mass vigilance can be useful but even more useful is just sort of how robust he is which means I usually have him after he is cast. There is a large bit of issue with this deck against mass sweeper cards.
Trading Post -> Mobilization I like the versatility of the post but at the same time I have been needing to increase my ability to create tokens repeatedly. I have a lot of situations in the mid to late game where I just sit around waiting to be able to make tokens somehow.
I did play two games recently with this deck. In the first game it was a situation where we had some odd cards that slowed down essentially everyone but myself and I just curved into Elspeth followed by tutoring Mirror Entity next turn and mauling someone to death with a bunch of 13/13 guys (Nykthos mana) on like turn 8. The second game was a bit slower but I ended up eventually swarming with Sacred Mesa and the mill player unknowingly Mind Grinded us for 11 into my eldrazi leaving me sitting nicely where as the Riku player went down to around 10 cards left.

The alters are my favorite part, but if I build Lin Sivvi, I'll be looting your decklist for ideas - likely a 90% copy.
Thank you.
Cheers!
I am glad you like it. I will have to break down at some point and get more alters done. Its always tough though to get alters done though as to some extent I think it makes me more hesitant to make changes to the list once I pay for an alter which is probably not great. Its also the reason that I moved on the landbase and rebels first.

I like the addition of Heliod and Mobilization (good call Millo4!), what are your thoughts on a small Stoneforge Mystic package? I'm thinking Skullclamp, Lightning Greaves and maybe a sword?... or a LIGHTSABER!????
I like the addition of Heliod and Mobilization (good call Millo4!), what are your thoughts on a small Stoneforge Mystic package? I'm thinking Skullclamp, Lightning Greaves and maybe a sword?... or a LIGHTSABER!????
I have honestly wanted to be able to support a Stoneforge Mystic package back in list for a while. My issues offhand tend to be that I could not come up with a specific sword that seemed to fit what I wanted to be doing.
It has been a long time though since I ran a sword in deck. I think as it is I am sort of mulling arround the idea of bringing back a Sword of Feast and Famine. With a heavier count of repeat use token generation Sword of Feast and Famine really picks up in value. I had been hesitant to use it in the past because I am not looking to tap out during my first mainphase in case someone has removal to stop the sword from connecting and I also do not want to use my rebel tutors during my turn. If I could just tap lands in response to a sword trigger though I could float it through and make tokens which fits a lot better. I tried sword of fire and ice as well in the past and just found it difficult to justify casting + equipping it in a turn. It is probably more likely that I would go back to Mask of Memory over the fire and ice just because of the cheaper equip and in my mind the better drawing abilities.
Of them its possible that I bring Sword of Feast and Famine back in with the increased number of mana sinks I have. Stoneforge Mystic is still a little rough to justify at 2 equipment though as well as the fact that I run 2x Torpor Orb effects in the list with the overall targets being somewhat low at 2. I might see if I can justify adding the Sword of Feast and Famine for now but I am still sort of thinking that I would hold off on the Stoneforge at this time.
Overall.... I will see if I cant work them back in for more testing. Offhand it would probably be Sword of Feast and Famine / Mask of Memory that I would consider before other options. If I can work both of them into the list Stoneforge Mystic could follow. (man... Mask of Memory as Darth Vador's helmet could be cool)

Thanks for the detailed response! I see what you mean about Mystic not necessarily fitting our game plan (especially with Torpor Orb-like effects), my list does play both Greaves & Skullclamp, I would just be adding the Mask + Stoneforge.
Speaking of things to test, I currently test Mana Crypt to help with early acceleration... any interest for that here?

My own preference for Mana Crypt tends to be in decks that are trying to be faster from the start. Lin Sivvi costs 1WW which means it would only speed her up by one turn. My biggest concern offhand is the regular damage it deals to be honest. One of the deck's strong points is its ability to use Children of Korlis against non lethal amounts of damage but if you loose 10-15 life in the course of a game to crypt it puts you a lot closer to outright being killed in an attack.
My issue is that while early game ramp is good I dont know if I like the idea of loosing the life that goes with it. Its the type of mana stone I tend to prioritize to decks that I try having explosive starts with and this isnt the sort of deck that I tend to have explosive starts due to it being so defensive.
Back on the topic of Stoneforge Mystic, it might actually be more realistic to consider Steelshaper's Gift since the Torpor Orb effects do so much work. Getting a single body out of the mystic isn't that big of a deal but having Stoneforge Mystic with a Torpor Orb in play would feel sort of bad. Just some food for thought I guess.

That makes perfect sense, I get that it doesn't belong in every deck, and this seems like one of those exceptions.

Good call, at least Steelshaper's Gift isn't a dead draw with a Topor Orb on the field and it can still find any of the necessary equips.
I have been thinking over our discussion on equipment a bit more and it is making me want to make a few adjustments and see how they play out.
DECK CHANGE:
Wayfarer's Bauble -> Mask of Memory while the bauble is ramp, what I need more than that is a consistent card draw effect. I recently cut Trading Post which did offer as a discard outlet but I think the mask could serve a very similar and useful role. I need draw more than I do ramp in a deck like this. The question offhand goes back to how much of a challenge I have keeping things on the board.
Luminarch Ascension -> Steelshaper's Gift honestly... I would say something like 90% of the time I cant get the Ascension online and running in a way that ends the game. Unfortunately it takes so much setup time that my opponents often deal with it by the time it would go online. I have added more token production to the list of late and I think it makes Luminarch less important as a whole. Generally speaking I am looking for quantity of tokens anyways since Mirror Entity is often used as the pump source.
Mind Stone -> Bazaar of Baghdad one mana ramp isn't as significant overall to the deck. I decided to pick up a copy of the Bazaar of late because it should be amazing in my Daretti and Toshiro decks as well but I didn't think about its impact in rebels until more recently. It would give me the option of cycling out rebels that come to hand and the interaction with something like Land Tax is quite impressive to think about. For the moment I will probably just have one copy that I will hotswap or proxy between the lists but if it performs well here it might mean I might need to buy a second copy to have altered (Gals will cry as he destroys it lol). For now.... I am just going to move to testing it here and if it pays off in the long run I will consider the second copy / alter but not right now.
Considerations:
Sun Titan - as always... he is in consideration. I am adding a solid equipment as well as the land of which both could be amazing in deck. When I had him in last though I was underwhelmed by the idea of rezing rebels though.
I had few games with this deck in the last weeks, and won all of them! I really love how solid is this deck!
Any idea how to make a tiny leader with Lin Sivvi? I'm not sure it will be possible without the mana ramp and being a 1 vs 1 game, but I love the rebell flavour...
Another thing I added is Catastrophe. If I have Lin Sivvi and some mana rocks I can destroy all lands and ramp much faster than my opponents, if I am starting slow and people are hitting me hard I can wipe the board.
Everyone hates me when I destroy all lands, so I use it only in more competitive games and tournaments, but sometimes it really win games by itself.

I havent really looked into Tiny Leaders much but from what I have seen it seems like voltron commanders are seen a bit more. You would still have access to Bound in Silence so assuming its heavier with voltron I suspect it would actually do fairly well because most of the tools you still have access to. The only rebels that you would loose that I run at the moment would be Changeling Hero and Rappelling Scouts. I think rebels could be good in this sort of environment but I suspect its going to be a situation where they do really well vs some decks and meh against some others.
Mass LD - I suspect it is good. I don't run it myself but I can see reason to think it would work out fairly well for rebels. If you put more emphasis on blowing them up you might need to move to a more equipment based build and rely a little less on the big token spawning.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
This game was going actually ok for me. The real issue was that Nahiri had a T1 Skullclamp and then played total defense. Ob Nixilis wasn't offensive enough meaning it left me to try to attack his commander and he had a few blockers + maze effects. Long story short was we were not able to be aggressive enough and it meant he was drawing 3 cards a turn off of his skullclamp and wrathing / defending himself. We ended up both scooping to him because it was going to be a one sided game of him hitting multiple ults as we could not disrupt his skullclamp + defenses.
It was a good information as this deck is defensive so in smaller games against walker commanders it can be very problematic as we are not able to pressure them very well.
Game 2: (last night) 3 player game with opponents being Grenzo, Dungeon Warden (sort of a controlish based reanimator?), Hazezon Tamar (all gas token aggro).
The game started off strong as I had Skullclamp, Weathered Wayfarer, and Hushwing Gryff in my opener. I started with the Wayfarer and then proceeded to tutor up a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Unfortunately the person who went first didnt have a third land drop (land tax in play) so the gravy train ran out on the wayfarer quickly. I ended up clamping him on turn 4 as I still had 3 lands in hand and didn't expect him to turn back on. Immediately afterwards Grenzo dropped a Solemn Simulacrum and I sort of kick myself.
The game gets to the point where I am using 2-3 rebel tutors a turn. Hazezon goes on the offensive with a few flyers and a Gisela, Blade of Goldnight but I have blockers + Lawbringer to keep him in check so he essentially has to swing at Grenzo if he wants to do anything with them which he does and brings Grenzo down to like 10 life after two turns of attacks. I end up reaching critical mass with my rebels as I tutor for 3 rebels at the end of a turn.
I end up tutoring for Mirror Entity on like... turn 9-10 probably and manage to generate another 21 mana off of Nykthos + Caged Sun making my creatures into 22/22s killing both opponents in one shot (after removing the Hazezon's Gisela, Blade of Goldnight).
To be honest I had hoped in the game last night to have tutored for my Bazaar of Baghdad as I had a lot of times where there were situational cards. Weathered Wayfarer would have also been able to act a bit like a Phyrexian Arena as well if I were able to keep under my opponents land counts with a Bazaar of Baghdad in play. I still haven't seen many of my prior changes in game yet.
The experience against the walker commanders is insightful as well. I always knew that there were some issues against wrath heavy decks but adding walker commanders to the mix makes it a lot worse assuming they are wrath heavy + the walker commander. I end up relying on the other opponents in a lot of ways to help deal with it.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I wanted to say I really enjoy this idea and want to build lin sivvy modeling your deck. How well does it play in an aggro heavy meta? Most decks I play against are Rith, the Awakener, Animar, Soul of Elements, Atarka, World Render voltron and similar decks. There are other control decks too but mostly aggro and midrange.
An aside. I noticed your OP deck list is off on it's count. Enchantments you have 7 but listed as (6). Same is true for creatures there is 21 not (20) and artifacts there are 17 not (19). Overall it adds up to 99 just wanted you to know so you can edit it.
Fell the Mighty potentially a one sided wrath effect. It reminds me a bit of Retribution of the Meek.
Arcane Lighthouse rebels do a decent bit of targeting. I dont think the lighthouse is an auto include due to the fact that we have Bound in Silence and Defiant Vanguard. It does help with the Whipkeeper and Lawbringer / Lightbringer assuming hexproof and shroud give you issues.

Hello!

I think Comeuppance will enter my deck for sure.
Thanks in advance, David.

Jeskai Barricade another Whitemain Lion effect. Its not especially interesting but its also not terrible.

I am glad you like it. I will have to break down at some point and get more alters done. Its always tough though to get alters done though as to some extent I think it makes me more hesitant to make changes to the list once I pay for an alter which is probably not great. Its also the reason that I moved on the landbase and rebels first.

Signature by Inkfox Aesthetics by Xen
[Modern] Allies
That makes perfect sense, I get that it doesn't belong in every deck, and this seems like one of those exceptions.
Good call, at least Steelshaper's Gift isn't a dead draw with a Topor Orb on the field and it can still find any of the necessary equips.
Thanks for answering all of my questions!

Game 1: (this was two weeks ago) 3 player game with opponents being: Nahiri, the Lithomancer a control / equip deck, and Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath essentially right out of the box.
I ended up cutting both Grenzo and Hazezon off with my Hushwing Gryff. Grenzo later tries to kill it using a Siege-Gang Commander with no tokens and sacs it for 2 damage at which point I Unexpectedly Absent the Hushwing Gryff to hold onto him.
