Would you primary use it as a kill once you have infinite mana? If so I don't think it's needed since there are plenty of ways to get the kill and the card draw seems low unless we have vorniclex on board.
The general is used for grave hate and sometimes you just need to reanimate your Jin to draw 7 cards. He may not stick but it's usually well worth it.
He can also be a beater since you can reanimate a Non optimal target (Vorniclex, Rune-scarred, etc) and just keep him alive long enough to kill your opponent. He's not amazing in that regard but having options has been helpful

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)

Yeah you're right, USZ is a bit narrow I suppose.
Have you tested running Damia at the helm of this list?
I haven't. I've tested her in the deck and was very unimpressed.
The issue I have is she's 7 mana. I rarely ever have that much mana in this build unless I have infinite.
As a control deck she would be better but since I'm aiming to dominate board states early before she can come out it's not something I think would work.
Plasm is only 5 mana which is much much less than 7 in edh, also with the ton of land destruction I run into it wouldn't help her case any more.

Gotcha, makes sense. Forgot that Mimeo doesn't run a bunch of ramp.
Mimeoplasm is a pretty political leader. I have talked to my meta about playing against it and even Non-GY decks worry about losing a big drop and risking mimeo eating up. Kharador cant complain about him enough...
Yes. This gives us the ability to blank all combat based decks for 3 mana.

That my friend, is disgusting. I was playing a table vs my own Maelstrom Wanderer deck and Sharuum deck. I was able to keep Maelstrom off 8 mana for awhile. But The Maelstrom player bribery'd my Deadeye and had a soft lock on the table with Venser/Deadeye. Not much I could do at that point, as I was stuck at 5 mana and couldn't play anything.
The Sharuum deck eventually combo'd off, but it was an extremely close game. Really like the feel of Mimeo so far.
It's pretty insane. Since adding them I can pretty much exclude all creature kills like massacre wurm and pestilence demon. Though I wonder if damnation or consume the meek would be good enough

Leviathan I think is much better since it hits so many other things. Damnnation or Consume the Meek doesn't slow down Sharuum or Maelstrom Wanderer as much as Leviathan does. That's my 2c.
Second game:
T1 Forest, Sol Ring,
T2 Woodland Cemetery, Survival, pitch Consecrated Sphinx grabbing E-Wit (not sure if this was right, maybe should've grabbed Rune Scarred)
T3 Reanimate Con Sphinx and play Mana Crypt play a Barren Moor (no other lands in hand, wasn't stoked on this play)
It survives long enough to get me 4 cards, with the Sharuum player killing it with a dispeller's capsule. Not much I could do to keep Sphinx around, no Voidslime, and no blue sources.
Maelstrom player ramps super hard, as Maelstrom decks always do, and takes an extra turn to prep for a Wanderer next turn. Sharuum player is also ramping fairly hard and manages to Time Spiral with it being the last card in his hand (The value!). He refills his hand and explodes more artifacts onto the board, Krark-Clan Ironworks, Grim Monolith, Rings of Brighthearth, Mana Crypt, Nihil Spellbomb (yuck), AND gets his general on the board.
He passes the turn, and I throw up in my mouth a bit. My turn, I hardcast a Mike, with no creatures to pitch to Survival to grabe Trike
Maelstrom does his thing next turn, cascading into Deadeye and Oracle of Mul Daya. I Beast Within his Deadeye as he swings at the Sharuum player.
Sharuum topdecks an Ensnaring Bridge to spare us the wrath of Maelstrom and drops Karn Silver Golem after swinging with Sharuum and suspending Lotus Bloom.
I play Island and cast Ponder hoping to hit a creature to pitch. I hit Dryad Arbor and pitch it to grab Trike and hardcast it. No responses and I take the win.
Really enjoying the deck so far. Not having ramp is fairly foreign to me, but the deck doesn't feel like it needs it. Feels nice to drop a threat t3 while everyone else is still in the ramp phase.
Sounds epic to me.
The beauty of this deck is you rarely need more than 3 or 4 mana to get what you want. Sure you can hard cast your cards later on if need be but once you can get to 3 mana you can have some very explosive plays.
Today I played Dig through time when someone played a tormods crypt hoping to get a counter.
I got Mana drain and used it. Oh the vaule, but it didn't matter because of that play I won the next turn with a massive living death.
Also went to a ptq today and played in the EDH pods.
Disappointingly a lot of the decks I faced was casual and they got real upset with me when I comboed out early. But we were playing for prizes every time so....the hell guys? Anyway, pulled some sweet cards today and went to play against more competitive edh decks

Yeah, the deck functions extremely well on low mana, I'm a huge fan. Do you often try to have countermagic up when reanimating, or do you just go for it if it's early enough? I wonder if I should've waited on reanimating my Sphinx. I feel like paying B for 4 cards is great value though.
That makes no sense. If I was playing for prizes, I'd bring the best deck I had, not a casual deck. Madness.
If everyone is tapped out or low on blue mana you can easily go for it.
With Jin the damage is done if your turn ends and it doesn't matter if he dies (keeping a sac land for an exile spell is best though)
With Consphinx I try to have one or two mana open if possible since I can usually draw into a counter if need be via filters but if I'm completely tapped out I'm more hesitant.
With woodfall/Levithan/Terastodon/Rune scarred you can just go for it. Does not matter
Also in the competitive pods I played against Narset and Hermit druid, won about 60-70 percent of games while Narset took it away the other time. Hermit druid being tier 1 just isn't true anymore
Levithan destroys Narset a good amount of the time assuming they can't counter, again, I love that card.

I've heard murmurs of Hermit not being T1 anymore, with it being so easy to disrupt. Beating Narset must also feel great, man that is such a nasty general.
Leviathan really just hoses any deck that uses the combat step to win. I'm liking it.
Can't let Sharuum know I'm cheating on her though... Dinosaur arm is just too awesome.
Nothing wrong with having more than one "Main" edh deck.
I think all three of mine are my main decks while this one is my all-star.
Also, today I played against a Sigarda deck that just wouldn't attack me, regardless of board state since all I had to do was bring back levithan and bounce all his permanents, which included a general with 8 enchantments on it.
Who said this deck cant be political?

Yeah, all the ones in my sig are my "main" decks. I have a few more that I keep around as loaners such as Krenko and Edric. Recently took apart a Nekusaur list (kinda boring to play) and a Prossh list (stole the cards from Prossh for Mimeo).
Bahahaha poor guy. I find myself living in fear of a Bojuka Bog when I'm playing Mimeo now. Hahaha
That's part of the reason I keep Voidslime as often as possible.
While bog isn't around here as much (people hate lands that enter tapped) I try and make sure that when I have a graveyard worth protecting that I keep slime just incase. It's definitely saved me a couple times in the past.
It's important to note that sometimes you can be bogged and it doesn't matter too much, as long as one of your combos is still safe you can pretty much continue without too much worry. With that said, if you can slime it you should

Yeah, if I run into a bunch, I may consider Trickbind and Stifle.
Voidslime is much more versatile.
I don't foresee Bojuka Bog being a huge problem. Spellbombs are sort of scary because they're so cheap to drop and can exile my yard as the user sees fit. Again, voidslime is probably fine for now, but maybe trickbind and stifle will be needed if I run into problems.
It's really a meta call. I'd suggest at least having slime since it can counter but if there is more to that in your playgroup the other two may be worth trying out.
Maybe even Voidmage husher as an option since it works well with necromancy as well but that total mana is pretty expensive

I too found that the best graveyard protection in the Mimeoplasm is Voidslime due to its versatility. Also, Null Rod has worked for me very well. I love the side effect of shutting down opponents' mana rocks and other random stuff. To circumvent my own Null Rod* I play mainly creatures and land tutors for my (samll) ramping needs.
Most other things threatening our graveyard can be taken care of with removal (for nuisances such as Scavenging Ooze) or Counterspells and Trickbind.
I see a lot of Bojuka Bogs, so I'm forced to play around them sometimes. Thankfully it is very rare that they come at instant speed, so when you suspect your opponent has it just wait until you can loot and reanimate in the same turn.
Good to hear that Null Rod and variants are helpful.
Another thing worth noting is if loam is in your grave you can cycle a land away to get it back. I've done this to regrow my graveyard before and it's won me some games because of that.
I like that interaction with trike ooze and sakura tribe. Never thought about that before. Also seems that null rod should be in the deck if you face a good amount of artifact hate on your group. Mine is nearly all hatebears so for me I don't think it worth it but for others with those struggles or live in a sharrum dominate group I think you should go for it.
