Anointed Procession is going to be so broken in this deck. Endrek sahr generates 4 times more creatures to sac, Xathrid necromancer becomes 9 sacs instead of 4, and Sengir autocrat becomes whooping 21 sacrifices. And it's 4cmc, so you can tutor for it with house guard.
For reference:
Did I mention that one time I played my Teysa deck with Planechase, and ended up on Selesnya Loft Gardens? I won that game... I've longed for a token doubling effect ever since, and now it's here! Anointed Procession will be insane in this deck. So much in fact that I'll definitely find a slot for Restoration Specialist so I can recur it.
I wanted to thank the OP and all the commentators for their work. I've ended up picking up this deck idea for one of my (way too many) decks (with some meta changes of course lol)
With that being said, there's a card that has been pulling way too much value for me that you guys might wanna check out. Righteous War It came out right when I quit playing back in the day. And lately it's been almost warping my meta.
And am I the only one using Sword of the Animist? The thing is SO GOOD!!! The buff isn't the use of it. You use it to slap it on a token, send it to it's death and it ramps..

I use it It's an autoinclude in any creature based non-green deck.
Any thought to including some of the new zombie cards? Since most people we already playing the necromancer and cleric that turns a good chunk of your creatures into 2/2s it seems like playing a few of the new cards like Plague Belcher could be a good idea. I've changed up my list to where almost every creature is 2 power so they evade Meekstone and Dawn//Dusk and its got a decent zombie theme going on now.
I took all of the mana rocks out of my deck and went up to 38 lands recently. I don't have any of the fast mana beyond sol ring and taking a turn off to cast a signet or command sphere on 3 feels really bad when everyone else ramp is putting them 2 or more ahead. The issue may also be that I've dropped the number of huge bombs in the deck down so there isn't really anything to ramp to beyond playing more cards per turn or activating more abilities. My goal was to make most of the cards pretty bad for opponents to steal or reanimate and so far its seemed to go well for me in that regard.

With this deck, at least what the OP was going for I believe, was to keep the CMC low so that they COULD play more cards a turn or get more activation's a turn. That was how they were keeping up with the more big dumb things that everyone else was tossing out. I would like to point out that doing that keeps you safer from counters and control. They won't waste a spell on you for something that small, and you'll run them out of responses with your small things (often, you can run a full table out of answers if they try to hate on you). Tell me, most of the time, would you rather waste an answer on a 3-4 drop that only gives slight advantage for someone by itself, or stop a Tooth and Nail or a T-don?

True. But it takes effort to think that there are other people out there that grew thumbs. (work management for customer service for 17 years and see if you question that people in general even have a working brain that is more then just the stem)
Ok guys... In a very stax build of this deck, Possessed Portal? I wouldn't even be asking if it was even a 6 drop (by far and away the highest on my curve) but for 8? I'm not so sure. If anything, it could be used as a backup if they exile my Smokestack. I'm leaning towards no. Unless I'm on a budget
I've built this deck from the primer and I love it!
Any thoughts on these?
* quietus spike in this deck, it reads "pay 3, target player sacrifices a creature or loses half his or her life." . I always feel like my engine is going but I'm lacking a win con. I haven't tested it but I think it could be more than a win more.
* helm of possession with a sac outlet, this is targeted removal. It can steal a commander to prevent combo or just get value out of opponents creature.
Some extras I haven't seen mentionned: sidisi, undead vizier[/card], black market

The OC of this thread, along with the rest of us stax version players are ok with the game plan of just grinding the game to a halt and winning off bleeder effects, or swinging in with 1/1's that we sometimes just buff. Or looping Gary a few times. Going the long game with this. Sidisi, Undead Vizier was almost always an auto include. I think that might be the reason why you didn't see too much talk about it. Only reason why we wouldn't run this is either CMC, or not wanting to run tutors. Though, I think almost all of our decks are running it. quietus spike, while fun, shouldn't be needed in most builds. Unless you don't want to go long or combo out, I think that most of us think that it's a bit too cute and doesn't help advance the plan. helm of possession falls into the more "cute" pile with the spike. Though, depending on the meta, it might be worth it. I personally would rather just to gravepact the table or make my smokestak pull it's weight (it better in every game, damm thing is a foil after all lol). black market is an odd choice. some of us (like me) swear by it and get all the mana in the world off it. Others just can't get it to do anything. I think it's mostly a meta thing.

I agree with what you've said except for helm of possession. Probably meta dependent like you said, but in my testing, it was able to take a big threat from the other side and disrupt combos. But I agree, I'd rather have gravepact as well.
One more card that I think is amazing: gift of immortality. I've only played with it once but it was amazing. I played it on Sidisi, Undead Vizier and sac'ed sidisi every turn to tutor for a card. It's very hard for the opponent to get rid of the gift because you can always sac the creature in response to targeted removal. With the amount of ETB creatures we play, I think gift of immortality is a solid choice.
Thoughts? Very very very off curve. Almost a reason to not even think about it. Though... Considering just how low the curve this deck tends to run, I could see this as being a wincon. Drop him, and fill your hand with gas over and over. I don't see you losing after dropping him unless someone beats you to the punch before you untap.
But, it IS BBB... Really iffy just for that one issue.
Razaketh is a very good card, and its only downside is its prohibitively expensive mana cost. I think we can use reanimation to get it out to the battlefield. It is a perfect target for Entomb / Buried Alive + Animate Dead / Karmic Guide.
I wish it was a 6-drop, but a sac outlet and a repeatable tutor in one card is really hard to pass up.

It's a very bad idea. This is not a reanimator deck nor does it have enough ramp, there's no way you can reliably get an eight mana creature into play fast enough for it to be useful.
I made an account because I have been a lurker in the shadows of this Primer for over a year now. I run this deck, but of course like everyone else I have swapped some of Schondetta's cards out for cards that I like and suite my meta.
I feel the love of this deck, none of my other Commanders come close to how fun, consistent and strong this deck is.
A few cards I would like to discuss that I have recently added are:
Anointed Procession: Takes the engine of this deck up a gear Yahenni, Undying Partisan: Very wacky sack outlet that can usually take a player out of the game following a board wipe
If I may ask, why is Mirror Entity a good fit for this deck? I can imagine some cool scenarios with this card, but I would prefer if someone could help me think through all of the interactions.
Also @Schondetta, if you can read this, you are the cause of the most fun I have ever played in MTG. Thank you.
"As I died, I rejoiced. I would see my family again. But then I woke up back on the battle field. Back in Kamigawa. Back in hell." - Kenzo the Hardhearted
Very very interesting. I had never considered that. So the end goal of that "combo" would be to have a blood artist out draining health?
I only thought Entity was there to make your spirits beefy when you had a lot of them to swing for the win. That or making everything a human/cleric to get zombies from Xathrid and Rotlung.

Eh, mirror entity in my experience is simply the best creature buffer. It won't me a few games. Usuall, I'll either have many tokens or will play a massive token generator + mirror entity. Next turn, sac an optimal the tokens to ashnod's altar, activate mirror entity and swing for lethal. Even without excessive mana, the turn you cast mirror entity you can easily make all your creatures 5/5 or more. The interaction described above is very boring IMO and I would never play it. In any case, if you ever draw mirror entity and activate it for pump, im sure you'll realize how good it is!
I had it out in a 4 player game last weekend, And I cast Martial Coup, generating me 16 Spirits, 10 Soldiers and 8(?) Eldrazi tokens which I instantly bled out two of the opponents with both Blood Artist and Falkenrath Noble out. My final opponent had a ton of life so after a few turns of swinging with the spirits I sacrificed everything I had after getting the Artist back, bleeding my final opponent out for the win.

It's not an excat copy of the primer list, but this is my current list. The deck has always been strong in my local meta, but with Anointed Procession on board it's just become ridiculous.

Really love your list was playing it for a bit. have been playing marchesa for a bit since i was buying this deck slowly. Next payday ill have my deck completely done thankfully
