Yes the deck does shuffle. I'd consider that for the Necropotence slot as they fill similar roles and draw attention to themselves when abused. Scroll Rack isn't actual card advantage though, so I don't know. I ended up putting the deck together for tonight taking elements of my OP list, the Solar Flare attempt, and your suggestions so I'll see what happens. I threw Bob in there even though my curve will punish me for it.
Well I got Baleful Strix out and it proved enough of a deterrent with the meager board state from my three opponents to protect Venser long enough to ultimate him, drawing me cards along the way. Sun Titan was there to bring it back a couple of times as well, so I will definitely be making Strix a permanent part of the deck once I finally update the OP.

I can't decide if that will replace Vindicate or not. It's an easy upgrade to Mortify, but should it replace Vindicate? My hunch is yes for the instant speed.
Eerie Interlude will play nicely with the number of board wipes I run in the deck as well as in EDH in general. Engulf the Shore is a tech way to most likely clear the field for Dakkon to swing. Jace, Unraveler of Secrets is frustratingly yet another Jace which has three modes which are useful for a control deck. Brain in a Jar has potential, but may be forced. Might be more at home in a more dedicated spellslinger deck. Drownyard Temple as synergy with Dust Bowl.
I'd rather have the power boost. +2 is just enough that it can put him in 2-shot range. Isn't Hunted Cloak a functional reprint of something else? I feel like there's some other equipment which does the same thing.
Haven't tried Opal Palace in this deck. It's a decent enough card but I don't like to run too many colorless lands. The only reason is for Dakkon but he'll be big already when he comes out and unless you are going from 10 to 11 power, a minor boost like that doesn't matter much. By himself he still needs to connect twice. YMMV though.
I think you misread the text of Opal Palace, The commander will take X counters +1/+1 , X is the number of time you casted it from commander zone

I actually haven't tested it either. I never was particularly fond of passive equipment like Flail, but the extra effect is certainly nice to have. It's something I'd almost rather want to equip to a random dork though. Your opponents are going to want to waste removal on a general no matter what, but would they still want to Doom Blade a Wood Elf?

Nonexistent, currently. It shares a lot of cards from my cube and I've been doing that recently, so I haven't gotten around to rebuilding the deck.
Yes, seems a good place where equip this "Flail of Ages". And it's another good target also useful to protect other equipments from direct removal. Considering my actual Dakkon version has about 10-12 minions, I decided to keep Conqueror's Flail in deck for a while

Just to throw my two cents in here, I think it's fine but not necessarily better than say a sword of x and y or an equipment along those lines. I'm not seeing any major synergy with Dakkon although it does give him some protection from removal if you are trying to use combat tricks to kill someone. That could easily backfire though and just force people to play removal before your turn or in response to your equipping it. 4 and 5 color generals get better value of course. After thinking about it I'm going to add it to my Yidris deck that chains wheels together as it'll give him +4/+4 and stop opponents from being able to use the new hands I keep giving them during my turn.
I really liked the idea of this deck for more casual playgroups as it is slow but still gets to use a lot of powerful cards. so I tested it on mtgo for a couple days made some changes and took it for a spin with some more casual guys on mtgo liked it enough that assembled the cards in paper was tons of fun. Here is where I have it now.

He won't work for competitive. He's way too slow and doesn't do anything but get bigger. Competitive decks are fast and don't win through combat for the most part.
