Since you mentioned theft of my creatures I'm also thinking about homeward path. Has theft been a huge issue if you don't have greater good in play or you able to just power out more monstrosities and still hulk smash them? I'm running a lot of dangerous creatures and I hadn't really put much thought into it since you mentioned it. Not sure a single Duplicant is enough.
Theft hasn't been much of an issue . I keep a copy of Homeward Path and Brooding Saurian handy in case I run into that, but so far I don't see much getting ganked. I do, however, get my Primeval Titans getting copied and kicked with Rite all the time.
After letting a friend play this deck solidly for a week I have decided to cut City of Solitude. I like the card since it protects my stuff when I go Alpha, but it keeps Kamahl's defensive skills from being used - which is huge.
-City of Solitude
+Dosan the Falling Leaf
Pretty close in practice, but Dosan:
+Plays off Aluren
+Plays off Lurking Predators
+Triggers Primordial Sage
+Attacks
+let's me use Ant Queen, Kamahl, Inkmoth Nexus, Oblivion Stone, and Top.
-others can use activated abilities, cycle, and use Spike Weaver ().
How does this altering process work? When did you become a mod? Congrats btw.
Thanks! The Mod tag was added on Saturday and I'll be working the Art beat.
With these cards the process is pretty simple. I take the card, prime the edges with a medium gray and then just use Acrylic paints to guess what I think the art should be outside of the boxes. A few I put new art, but I really wanted visual consistency so most are just extensions and every card printed with new borders has the new bordered version. Then, once it looks good I spray it with a clear coat. Believe it or not the basic lands were by far the hardest part of the deck and it's only because they are impossible to find. Painting them was cake.
Congrats on the mod position Galspanic. What all areas will you be moderating?
Also, I like your decision to swap Dosan in for the City. It makes sense to me. The downside will obviously be that he will be more fragile however I think it is worth the change in protection to allow you a bit more control as well.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I congratulated you on your actual mod thread, but anyway.
Galspanic, this mod tag was a long time coming for you. Your art is impeccable and I'm sure you'll do a great job at moderating (crushing the souls of trolls) the art forum.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.

Some of those cards are money. You're killing me, but at least they're well done.
What do you think of Wurmcoil Engine? Mostly for Birthing Pod but I've always found it to be a great creature in it's own right. Thinking of using it but I'm not sure if it's worthwhile because most of the time I would rather grab primeval titan if I can get a cmc 6 creature.

Yes I hear you on that but the goal was to sac it to pod get the tokens then next turn get something like regal force or whatever. My plan was mainly as fodder that creates tokens, similar to solemn simulacrum with birthing pod or natural order. Have you had good experiences with primordial sage? It seems like I've had a hard time getting much draw out of it by the time it comes down.

FYI, you can't sacrifice Solemn Simulacrum or Wurmcoil Engine to Natural Order.
I don't play Natural Order and oddly have never felt any urge to put it in the deck. For 4 mana it does some great things, but I don't see which of my tutors it would beat out. My gut tells me that Wurmcoil is one of those cards that means you are thinking too hard for the basic nature of this deck - it's big dumb pile of cards. You get a couple of tokens when it dies and it gains some life...that's good, but with the rest of the deck you won't feel like it's playing well with the other cards. Or maybe it will. I know there have been games when just some reliable life gain would have rescued me.
The way I see natural order and survival of the fittest are basically access to almost any creature in your deck right then and there. This IMO adds much more consistency, versatility and power to the deck. They turn those wood elves into primeval titan early game and late game let's you toss away those ramp creatures for something more powerful or relevant. Kind of like birthing pod but much harder to disrupt and less restrictive to use. Maybe I'm overthinking it but deckbuilding and improving are some of my favorite things to do . But yeah, I'm not sure what you would remove for them either. I had several NOs and SOTF laying around so I threw them in.
I own both of them too (not "several" :P) and I feel like the tutors I have are better either because of cost or repeat use. I have to tell you that owning those cards and stuffing them if a box feels pretty crappy though. Natural Order would be the better of the two since I don't see a ton of counters but if we don't have a turn 1 Crypt effect in a 4-player game it's rare. People here on Salvation argue about the Turn 1 Sol Ring all the time, but it's the Nihil Spellbombs that wreck us more than Sol Rings!
I agree with Galspanic on Survival but not Natural Order. Survival is best in a deck that can abuse all aspects of it, including the graveyard. Now it's not that green doesn't have any tools that work with the graveyard but we are far from abusing it. I also own a Survival and while it was in my original list it didn't last long. Natural Order however is a card I don't own and am dying to get my hands on. Any card that tutors and cheats mana cost (a la Tinker) it's almost always an auto include.
I think the misconception with sotf is that you have to abuse the graveyard for it to be good. I don't agree with that. Second turn it's a power play when third turn you're casting Rofellos. Later in the game in my build it turns those Llanowar Elves or whatever into Kozilek. Ive found with about 30 creatures I can always afford to pitch one just to get the creature I want or need. I've also considered Genesis but it hasn't been needed because the creatures I plop down from it gets er done.
Okay... so, I will give it a shot since adding Dosan for City o' Sol will give me 32 creatures. I've never felt like I needed more or that the ones I had didn't cover the bases... so, what do I take out? I'm really happy with the number of tutors I have, so none of them are obvious "axe me" cards. Possible cuts, Praetor's Counsel? It would add one to the tutor column, but for 8 mana P.C. just isn't cutting it anymore. If I have a yard of stuff to bring back... blah blah blah winmore. Right?
Hmm. That's a tough call. If you're happy with the current build and tutor amount, leave it as is. If you feel like PC is win more and want to try something else there'srestock? Or if you're not looking for recursion maybe try survival in there and see how it works out.

I am very happy with it the way it is now, but I also LOVE futsing with things, trying out new ideas, and evolving the deck. I know that I might be a bit resistant to change just because it means that I have to destroy another card and spend the time doing so... which is actually a pretty weak reason to avoid moving things around. So yeah, I will try it out and see what happens.
Finally had to get rid of City of Solitude. Dosan is just so much more in line with what this decks does.
Being a creature means:
Chains with Birthing Pod.
Tutors with all the tutors.
Triggers Lurking Predators.
Triggers Primordial Sage.
Flashes with Aluren.
The ability to play abilities on my opponents' turn is why I run Kamahl... City was not letting it happen and was probably an over reaction to Spike Weaver.

Primordial Sage - Draw
Primeval Titan - Ramp
Rampaging Baloths - Aggro
Three targets is usually enough and all three stay on-theme like a saddle. Wurmcoil is so good, but Baloths does the Aggro thing better.
