You've probably seen variants of this deck before; it's just a smash-face and survive Jor Kadeen-hope-you-have-metalcraft-enabled deck. Red/white has card draw problems, so I have a few engines and a decent amount of tutoring. I have not tried it out yet, but I'm sure it will be fun.
In a deck with a strong artifact base, is Liquimetal Coating + recurring artifact destruction (Hoard-Smelter Dragon/Viashino Heretic) a great strategy for repeated removal of all permanent types...or more likely to backfire when someone steals those creatures?
I don't know anyone who'd steal a Heretic, and red is generally less-played than other colors - so even if the Dragon gets taken, its ability is somewhat likely to be dead.
Very little for Godo and Mystic (Boots, Clamp, and maybe a Sword is like the bare minimum), but for the Giant to be really impressive you need to be running really greedy equips - Sword of Kaldra, Argentum Armor, things of that nature. Stonehewer Giant has impressed me the least of all the equipment tutors I run - Taj-Nar Swordsmith is generally more cost-effective when your key equips are on the cheap side, and Steelshaper Apprentice's "drawback" is more of a bonus when you can bounce him to dodge a sweeper.

Have you tried out Shattering Pulse?
How much equipment is enough to warrant Godo, SHG, and SFM?

I draft and play EDH. If a Standard player can't understand who a card is for, it's probably for me.
I also write things about good films.
