I've wanted to work up an EDH list utilizing Sunforger for some time now, and I think that I've finally settled on a commander. The new R/W legend from the Commander product caught my eye as disruption for much of the table, while giving me the ability to force my opponents to attack. If I throw in a few ways to stop or discourage them from attacking me, then I can hold back while the rest of the table takes care of each other.
This is bound to leave me without many friends if I'm simply manipulating the table all game, so the Sunforger steps in to take care of my card advantage needs. While I will again not have much control over the attack phase, I can gain repeated card advantage by searching whatever I need from my Sunforger toolbox and recycling it back into the deck using Mistveil Plains/Reito Lantern/Soldevi Digger (which by the way, I have been dying to use in EDH for some time).
I decided on an angel sub-theme for the creature base. Years and years ago when I first started playing M:TG, one of my first decks was a R/W angel deck. While I'm not swinging with Serra Angels anymore, I still have fond memories of those days, and I want this to pay tribute to where I came from all those years ago.
There are clearly a few too many cards on the list right now, so if anyone has any ideas, comments, or suggestions for what to trim down, I'd love to hear them.
There are also a few cards that seem to nonbo with my commander, such as Master Warcraft and the order part of Order//Chaos. The warcraft is a card that I can cast out before the attack step starts, so while not as good as it could be, it will be a solid card in the list. And the split card will still allow me to remove all blockers from the picture before combat starts, and leave me with a pretty sure thing of an alpha-strike if I so choose. Then there is also a pretty reasonable assumption that Basandra won't always be on the board.
Sorry to break it to you, but Basandra prevents you from casting spells with Sunforger.
only during combat. .
I understand how this case prevent Tears of Rage, Dawn Charm, etc. to be played. .
But Master Warcraft need to be played before attackers are declared (= before combat??), can it still be played if I unattached Sunforger at that time?
As was mentioned by the two posts above, and verified here on the rules board, I cannot use the Sunforger to "force-cast" my spells from beneath my general. I altered the decklist a little to remove the combat tricks from my toolbox, and incorporate more synergy from the "R: Target creature attacks" ability on Basandra.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd still love to hear them.

Weiss Schwarz Sets
Accel World, Angel Beats, Familiar of Zero, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Guilty Crown, Kill La Kill, Robotics;Notes, Sword Art Online.
Chaos Partners
Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Iona, Kirishima, Kongou.

Why do you run Blood Moon? Surely it ruins your utility lands as well.
In total, I have 5 of what I'd call utility lands. I feel like that is much lower than you'll see from many other decks at the table in a multiplayer game, and is hardly disruptive to me at all. My deck won't fret from being stuck with mountains, but I can see many others that it would cripple from a lack of colored mana available.

Very solid deck. How much would it cost to build one of these from the ground up? Excluding cards that come with the Commander deck that Battle Seraph is in (I plan on buying the deck, and building it up from there)
Realistically he should only be unblockable without equipment
Guard 1: There goes a sword floating down the street!
Guard 2: Well, he's unblockable, so ignore it.
Eat your greens kids, omnath does, and it makes him strong....
The angel sub-theme was toned down a little. They're still the majority of my beaters.
I added a few more decent equipments that I had around to increase the value of my search cards. Kemba, Kha Regent can provide me with a small army as I pull in a few equipment.
The Sunforger package was tightened to reduce some of the redundancy. I removed my Into the Core because the majority of the time a Return to Dust will do the same thing. I added a copy of Silence to end the majority of the infinite combos that could be presented at the deck.
A Madblind Mountain was added to supplement the recursion package in the deck. Now I can shuffle the various cards that were placed on the bottom of the deck, so i have a better chance of drawing the non-instants that I put there.

If you're sticking with Basandra as your commander, Angelic Arbiter sounds like a shoe-in - unless I'm reading it wrong (e.g. could they cast a spell during their first main phase to disrupt Basandra's activated ability and prevent their creature(s) from attacking?).
I guess this post is more of a "if I were building an angel/sunforger deck", so take my suggestions with a huge grain of salt.
P.S. I didn't see Condemn in your list. I think a Basandra EDH deck is the only place where Condemn > Swords to Plowshares, since you can force an opponent to attack with his (even non-aggressive) commander and put it on the bottom of his library.

Yes, that hold-up with the Angelic Arbiter is exactly how it works. They can cast a spell in their first main phase to stop themselves from attacking. I still kinda like the idea though... I'll think about it again.
And condemn is far WORSE than any of the other options in a Basandra deck. Condemn only targets attacking creatures, and Basandra stops anyone from casting anything during the attack phase. They just don't play well together.

Wow, I really am reading things wrong. Somehow I read Basandra as
"Players Your opponents can't cast spells during combat." Doh.
I'm kinda sad that I just realized that I only have like 3 red cards in this deck. I'd really like to find some room to put back in the Blood Moon and put in a Stranglehold. Any other controlling red cards you think I should look at?

I know this is an older thread, but as I was assembling my own Basandra deck I read through some other examples to see if I was missing anything and came across this:

I altered the decklist a little to remove the combat tricks from my toolbox, and incorporate more synergy from the "R: Target creature attacks" ability on Basandra.

You can still use Master Warcraft. You just have to cast it during that opponent's first main phase. It does not have to be cast during the combat step, just before attackers are declared. Yes, casting it during their first main means that they can do things with the creatures to set them up to be unable to attack (tapping them, sacrificing them, etc), but it still gives you a measure of control over their combat phase.
Again, as long as you cast your instants before their combat step, you are not restricted by Basandra. Sunforge away.

I was aware of that, but I chose just to not use the Master Warcraft in here. I'm not that interested in messing with the attack step. There are definitely parts of that in here, but I wanted to expand what the deck was able to do beyond that facet.
I've updated the list a bit. I added in the red control cards (Stranglehold, War's Toll) and a few more lands. I also took out some of the upper end of the curve, effectively letting me do more each turn.

Squee gives me a repeatable creature to equip if my commander is tucked or is just too expensive to cast. The Pull never really worked out the way I was hoping. I wanted a way to get back my Sunforger if it was exiled from the battlefield, but the SF was the only way I had to tutor for it. I couldn't preemptively tutor for it with the SF, then sit with it in my hand, and I couldn't count on drawing it when I didn't have access to my Sunforger. Cloudshift gives me a way to abuse my CiP abilities from Stoneforge Mystic, Sun Titan, Solemn Simulacrum, etc., and should be relatively useful with or without access to my Sunforger. (maybe even more-so when I don't have the SF...).
I'll also mention that I'm currently looking to find some space in here for a few other cards. My current wish-list of cards to find space for is:
Angel's Grace and Final Fortune is infinite turns with the saucy equipment, provided you have the resources to equip and activate sunforger and lantern twice a turn.

What cards have been performing the best for you in this deck and which wincon do you use the most? Hopefully Gatecrash will give you even more options for this deck!
I will actually replace Basandra with Aurelia in my pillowfort/sunforger deck, so we will see how that goes..
Although I designed it with Sunforger as the main focus of the deck, I rarely get to go crazy with it. The best performing cards have really been the control cards. War's Toll and the Sword of Feast and Famine are probably the two that I am always happiest to see (other than Sunforger itself).
I really haven't gotten to play much with any of my decks in the last year or so, but I may get some time over the holiday weekend coming up. I'll try to report back if there are any epic happenings.
