I've been lurking for a while, but finally decided to take the plunge and post, as EDH is an entirely new format for me, despite how obsessed I've become with it.
Opinions, critiques, and advices would be most appreciated!
Wit's End -> Myojin of Night's Reach
Quag Sickness -> Mutilate
Barren Moor -> Cabal Coffers
Lethal Vapors -> Nevinyrral's Disk (to give yourself some out to enchantment or artifacts)
well what is your general strategy
over the course of making my edh deck with numot i had to understand that i would be the center of attention with his abilities. this being said i had to build a deck that could win a game WITHOUT using him. this would throw off my opponents as they would assume he would be the only way i could win.
you also have to consider whether this will be good in multiplayer 3 or more players
or duel 1v1. you should design it for multiple opponents. cards that give the ability "each opponent loses/sacrifices/gains etc" are good cards to consider.

I've had in mind to invest into some pricier cards including demonic tutor and the coffers, like you said.
I did realize I had absolutely no way to deal with artifacts and enchantments, but I wasn't sure about the disk, seeing as I'm heavily reliant on them myself. Also the vapors, meekstone and the winter orb helped to slow the game until Id be more in control, as I have nearly nothing early game.

I really enjoyed the old black flavor of "power at any cost". Generally it involves slowing/controlling the game enough to set up the card drawing engines until it reaches 4-6 cards a turn, with or without the reliquary tower. Then I transition over to necropotence/forbidden crypt to pretty much have access to every card in my deck at once. Seizan with corruptions and Exquisite Bond gives me decent enough lifegain so I don't bleed myself out, and once I find my sanguine blood, my card drawers such as staff of nin or Seizan combos into victory.
Initially, my commander was Visara, then Kiku, as I needed assassins to keep the board relatively safe. I chose Drana afterwards as an emergency victory condition, since she could swing in the air for 21 commander damage with high mana base end-game, with her pump being a spot removal to boot. I'm not entirely set on Drana yet, though, since I rarely play her. Phyrexian Processor for ~30 life have been played more often.
In multiplayer, I've had some success with pestilence every turn and leaving the biggest fatty on the board tapped thanks to meekstone, then casting a lethal exsanguinate. Sheoldred also worked some wonders.
...I've had some shenanigans planned with breeding pit. I don't remember what it was now, though.
for enchantments (or nearly any other permanant for that reason), I use Karn Liberated in my Drana Tribal Vampire deck. Here is a link in case you want to get some ideas or even offer me suggestions for improvements you might see:
