This will be my first post (other than my welcome post) on these forums. I am an avid fan of EDH, and I thought I'd share my favorite list. I'm always looking for cool cards that I could fit in here or any essentials that I'm missing. (I know I'm missing doubling season, but I just can't seem to find anyone who has them.)
Perilous Forays is kind of clunky. It's good if nobody is breathing down your neck but otherwise, not so much. My results have improved a lot since I added an Academy Rector and Mirari's Wake to my build. I'm still looking for a Mana Reflection but that's going in immediately too. I use both Farseek and Nature's Lore to help me fetch Murmuring Bosk and Temple Garden / Godless Shrine / Overgrown Tomb. Of course, Skyshroud Claim is always awesome. For equipment, I'm only running a Skullclamp and a Blade of the Bloodchief, I've found that everything else is really not what I want to be doing here. Lightning Greaves, and both Swords you're playing both lock whatever creature you have them on out of +1/+1 counters from Ghave. Feast and Famine's untap can be great but I run Seedborn Muse and multiple tutors for it to cover that. Instead of running those equipments, consider Privileged Position instead. It's a very, very solid enchantment in EDH. Some people love black Mikaeus, I cut him from my Ghave simply because with all the +1/+1 counters flying around it's hard to consistently have mana up to suck them all off with Ghave in the event of a board wipe. Also, the single best thing you can do for your Ghave deck is pick up a Doubling Season. Seriously, it will be the first thing you tutor for almost every time. As to Cathars' Crusade, it's usually the second thing I tutor for. It's really insane here.
When I had Ghave built I ran Survival of the Fittest such a good card for Ghave when it comes to trying to get what you want asap creature wise. Doubling Season is Ghave's key card, it's what helps him overtake games fast. I'd get one asap, I only ran two equipments in Ghave. It was Skullclamp and Swiftfoot Boots. If you want the more token theme then cool go with Mirror Entity makes your dudes scary fast. If you can afford one I'd also recommend a Gaea's Cradle helps out with your deck from getting to mana hungry. I personally took out all citp lands except Boseiju, Who Shelters All. Dudes with undying synergize with Ghave very well. There is also a lot of interesting combos that go well with Ghave. His signature combo Doubling Season, himself, and Earthcraft. Either is fun and loved playing all sorts of different game plans with Ghave.
