Hi everyone... I am a kind of new player to MTG starting to play Standard format since BFZ released. During these months I enjoy it quite a lot, and bought all of the FTV sets for collections.
Most of my friends or my local game shop are enjoying other formats like EDH/Commander and Modern apart from Standard, but I don't really like the Modern format at all, while EDH seems interesting to me.
With all the cards in Standard (From KTK to OGW now, probably SOI and later on sets) and the FTV 8 sets (Angels, Annihilation, 20, Realms, Legends...), is there any deck that I can start building with them that utilize my current resources at least making it could stand a chance to other Commanders?
Jenara, Asura of War is a great commander for a first deck because of the flexibility she offers. There's not a lot you can do with her as your commander and go wrong.
Jenara herself can be a voltron type commander, where you build the deck around making her a combat goddess. She can be just a color enabler so you just play bant goodstuff and use her as a self-reliant alternative win condition along with the other cards. You can play heavy control and use her as your primary win condition because she's inexpensive to cast, and scales upwards admirably as the game goes on.
In my opinion, the BEST way to start getting into commander is looking at all the legendary creatures you have, and asking "Who looks fun to play with" and making a deck around it. Trial and error, make some mistakes, find some new strategies, and just have fun with it at first. Nobody starts with a finely tuned competitive deck, but you eventually get there. That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.

Thanks all for any comments
