I think you're going to find that giving Unblockability is easier than giving double strike; same goes for the strategy of removing blockers rather than Voltron equipment. Most removal in the 1v1 format is spell-based, not creature-based, so that's another strike going against its built-in protection.You mentioned Rafiq, who grants not only two additional colors (green and blue), but he also gives his ability to any creature that attacks alone, giving him Pseudo haste and also letting other extremely nasty creatures (such as Cephalid Constable and Cold-Eyed Selkie) get out of hand.

Something else to consider with Eesha is on the defense; Pariah, Entangler, Pariah's Shield, the en-Kor creatures, etc.
