Hmm. Probably. I think it can replace Prophetic Flamespeaker. Both produce CA, Divining Top is a bit more versatile at it, albeit it can't kill. I'm fairly certain Crucible of Worlds can come in the deck too, likely over Sulfuric Vortex (I don't care about the no-lifegain clause [Zurgo kills in 3 hits regardless] nor do I care about the fifteen turn clock). As an aside, this makes both my Jitte and SoWaP stronger (you might play SoFaF instead, but tbh I like SoWaP's "clock out of nowhere").
Flamespeaker carries swords like a boss though, so not too sure I'd cut him for a SDT. Might indeed cut the vortex, see how that goes.
He does carry swords well. You know who carries them better? Aven Mindcensor. Though Flamespeaker generates CA while under a Spirit of the Labyrinth, which is a certain non-zero amount of benefit.
Tidehollow Sculler may be a reasonable cut for a Divining Top (assuming you're, like me, going to put Crucible in as well). If not then Sulfuric Vortex is the cut.
Yes, i'm fixing crucible in as well, no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. Was already planning on cutting Sculler for the BR command, so I'll have to see what else seems cuttable, although the command might end up being incredibly bad. Perhaps the Talisman?

Talisman is one of the best rocks (and is sometimes better than Fellwar, but that is match dependent). Sculler is going to be the cut.
(B/R) Command is bad man. Don't bother. Rakdos Charm (which I'd never cut) is so freakin' better.
I won't be bringing this deck to the LGS this week. Got a prototype Alesha Infect I need to gather some data on. It may wind up being bad, but, I need to see anyway.
Just an update to mine, I picked up an Elspeth, Sun's Champion, as well as my Scrubland. The dual is an easy slot in, but Elspeth will be going in too - just need to sit down and find a slot.

This is the most recent Helmsmasher "Walkerhaups" build I was playing. Sorry it took me so long to gather it, I've been doing a lot of Alesha and Bellstriker since I played this. The only change I would make is to swap Wildfire for Burning of Xinye, solely as a metacall as Burning still affects Sigarda (which is one of the top decks of my meta) as it specifically is a "destroy" effect - Portal did not use Sacrifice as a keyword. In the other 99% of situations though, the two cards will be identical and thus the deck would play the same either way.

Just wondering, you use Wasteland instead of Strip Mine. If you're going to include one copy of such land, wouldn't Strip Mine be strictly better than Wasteland? I know in high-end EDH it probably doesn't matter because most of the lands are nonbasic, but Strip Mine can destroy basic lands if opponent happens to have one.

I, as well as the OP of this thread, plays under Duel-Commander rules. Strip Mine is banned under such constraints. As is Mind Twist, Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Vampiric Tutor and etc. Else I'd play both Strip & Waste.

That explains, because I also noticed that in your Alesha deck you used Recurring Nightmare, which isn't banned in dual. Thanks for clarification.

Have you considered running The Abyss? Suspiciously good for zurgo, along with bitterblossom.
Edit: SORRY! Didn't see that the abyss/lethal vapors had been talked about already. I personally am a fan of Assemble the Legion, just to get more "Jefferies" on board, creating a threat. How has Sire of insanity been? I've been eager to test him out. And is there a reason phyrexian arena isn't being played?
last edit, I swear. This is my current list I've been playing on cockatrice. Thoughts?

Is there a reason you are not playing Worldslayer with Zurgo? It was the 1st card i included in my 1vs1 list.
nvm that command, the format was wrong on my side.
Because it's win-more.
