During his extended stay in the planes of Ravnica, The Architect, a Planeswalker from an unknown plane, seeks knowledge about the mysterious power contained within the Dragon's Maze. His travels takes him to House Dimir where he met with its guildleader Lazav, a rare occurrence. After hearing The Architect's goal for great knowledge, the two strike a deal. In exchange for his guild's services of espionage, The Architect would grant Lazav not only great knowledge, but the means to rebuild House Dimir to its former glory.
One of many reasons why I enjoyed the RTR block, Lazav is a commander that will always play differently depending on who you play against and because of that, you can never get bored from playing him. Naturally, he thrives in creature heavy decks where he can become your opponent's best creatures, but can also steal the best instances and sorceries to use against them.
