But that's exactly what a side deck is for, cards that might be dead against certain match ups. Run stuff like Shatter Spree, Spreading Seas, Zacama if no ome is playing control, glacial chasm against aggro, so on so forth. It just feels really unlikely that people are going to jam them full of color hate cards, that's an absurdly huge waste of resources most of the time.

Sorry but people are going to play stuff like Boil exactly because there is no downside. When people can drop Flashfires against White, and a Shattering spree against everyone else, of course color hate is going to be in there. It makes no sense to think people will jam artifact hate in a sideboard since everyone runs them. It will be color hosers.
If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.
One the one hand, even if that happened people would probably notice how spending 6 mana to mildly annoy people is actually pretty bad, and on the other I'm pretty sure that "that kind of player isn't who the RC ban for".
I'm wholly convinced that it would not add fun to the game. For every person who would play Spawnsire of Ulamog, there are probably about 10 that would play nothing but hate cards.
It doesn't even have to be Acid Rain. I have to think that nearly everybody would have 3-5 hate pieces - removal for different kinds of permanents, a board reset, graveyard hate, combo hate... and the rest could be recursion, card draw, or an extra win condition to back up your deck in case of a Jester's cap.
Even something like this seems annoying - every single deck will have at least one graveyard hate card in the wishboard.
One the one hand, even if that happened people would probably notice how spending 6 mana to mildly annoy people is actually pretty bad,
Mono colored decks scoop, and many others have huge holes blown in their mana, with again no downside. Thats way past mildly annoying
and on the other I'm pretty sure that "that kind of player isn't who the RC ban for".
This is demonstrably false. Look at the official reasons reasons Painter's Servant is banned - it makes color hosers too good and creates no downside for playing them.
They just recently changed the rules AWAY from allowing sideboards as an optional rule. Its not coming back now for the same reasons.

I'm in different to whether or not wishboards are allowed. I dont think thry add much if anything for most players, i just think the color hoser feer seems overblown.

Is that because PS makes the effects too strong, or because PS incentivizes players to run the hosers, and that leads to more games where they hit the table without PS and ruin one players game?

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
I currently have 2 EDH Decks with "casual wish boards" -- Yidris and Uril. And usually, the cards in the side boards are cards not good enough to be in the main 99, but fun on certain occasions, or function in very specific circumstances. Sure I could just replace the wishes with the best options in those side boards, but if the Wishes themselves aren't banned and you have them, why not play them?
That's kind of how I look at it. It lets you play silly cards you wouldn't normally play. I've rarely used it for a combo or color hate or anything.
And yeah, if everyone started using wishes only to cast hate cards, sure, but I mean... Isn't that just a problem with the players? Do you want to be playing with that person anyways? It is a casual format first. Just find another player and join their game. Or kick them out of your group. It's about having fun, not about annoying people.
And a "sideboard" sideboard doesn't really... Seem to matter? As it's not competitive, people usually play one game with one deck, then switch decks, so there's not really a period where you can switch cards out to react to the decks you just played. And if you wanted to change out cards for the next game... I mean, who's going to stop you? Again, it's casual. You can just do it anyways. Worse thing that happens is that you're asked to leave the group, and then you just find another group to play with. Big whoop.

So why have any rules like ban list, or CI rules? If people do un-fun stuff just kick them out.

Because the burden lies on the RC, not the players. Painter's is gone, but Iona is not, and that card hoses mono-color decks every bit as bad as Acid Rain or Flashfire (perhaps more so since you can pick color you want to hose at the time). Yet Iona is legal because the RC argued that people who use Iona to hose the mono-color player at the table are not who they aim the rules at. Yet that's the issue here.

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

Actually... Yeah. I think that's just a good rule of thumb.
I think the ban list and the rules are in the spirit of stopping certain cards / actions that can deplete the fun in the game, but ultimately, you're not obligated to play with someone you don't like playing with. That person moves on, you move on, no big whoop.
But I don't feel like a wish board depletes the fun in the game.
