As always, questions on anything are fair game, whether it's Commander, Magic in general, or whatever is on your mind (although please keep it clean). Answers to as many questions as is reasonable in an upcoming SCG article.
What are your thoughts on how to approach playing in a new meta that you are unfamiliar with? How would you go about choosing what deck to play first and why?

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
My single question for Commander will always be have there been any discussions about Banned as Commander becoming a thing again, as this is a format where a card being in that slot or being in the 99 changes the power dynamics of it IMMENSELY and I feel that is the largest single change that hasn't quite made sense to me in recent memory.
As the format evolves and becomes progressively more "solved" at all levels of play, will your approach to the ban list change? For example, even in metas that deliberately outlaw infinite combos or stax, people are optimizing their decks under those restrictions more and more.
Does edhrec.com showing hard stats on what people are playing have any impact on the ban list discussions?
What do Sol Ring and Iona contribute to the Rules Committee's vision of the format?
Any good new wines?
How is your health?
If I recall correctly, you're generally somewhat of a proponent of "Build casually, play competitively." Would you say that still applies for people who have a less rigorous meta game? (E.g. someone without a playgroup who travels a lot.)
No question (just yet). Stay safe because of some jerk green mage who is looping hurricane down south.
Thanks. We're on pretty high ground (167 feet above sea level, so basically a mountain in Florida) in the center of the state, so if it hits us directly (which isn't all that likely), it should have significantly weakened. It's going to be a bumpy ride, but not nearly as bad for us as the folks on the southern and eastern coasts.
Any examples of cards that you personally hate but would never ban? Has any card ever come up that the RC would have liked to ban but did not as it did not meet any criteria?

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
In regards to deck building, how would you go about gaining experience quickly. I have a couple people in my group that are very good deck builders and while I think I am adequate, I have a hard time matching them correctly. I either make decks that players have a hard time interacting with, or decks that fall short in terms of being able to play my deck as intended.
I'm cutting off the questions this time here because I'm submitting early in advance of Hurricane Irma. I'd rather be in early than not be able to submit next week due to lack of power. Plus, you've already given me enough quality material!
